Haircut disaster. Gutted

I went in with lots of pictures, told her I wanted a long pixie that I could push over my ears, like Emma Willis. She seemed to understand and even said she would do it a bit longer than my photos as it would feel too short for me otherwise (my hair was past my shoulders).

I've ended up with it cut over my ears which I didn't want, and really short at the back. I hate it so much. I look more like Bruce Willis than Emma. I told her it is too short and she said it had to be short over my ears or it would be too bulky (so why didn't she say so before she cut it?) and I should go back in a few days if I still don't like it. Why? Is she going to glue it back on?

Why do hairdressers do this? I have a thin scarf tied round my head at the moment. Is there anything else I can do to disguise it or make it grow quicker

She could have done an undercut to make it less bulky round the ears.

I've just looked at Emma's hair, and hers does seem to be short over her ears but the longer bits from the sides disguise it, so it's like an undercut. Is yours short all the way up?

She said she was doing an undercut which is why I didn't panic when she started cutting, but then she never left any long over it!

I will take a photo. I am looking at Seasalt handybands but I can't see a picture of one on someone's head.

It's definately short around your ears, but what does the rest of it look like? Is it long and floppy on top?

I can see why you're annoyed. Is definitely get your money back.
I've had a pixie cut and they do grow out reallllly quickly. I needed a hair cut every 6 weeks. So hopefully it shouldn't take long to grow out to where you want it.
In the mean time, I'm sure there isn't anything wrong with how your hair looks, other than it isn't what you wanted. So try to embrace it until it grows out.
Could you wear some summery hats while you're out?
Or some nice headbands?

I can see it isn't like the photos and understand why you're didappointed, but you have a nice shape head and jaw to carry it off fortunately. Texturising gum to push it in various directions to make it more interesting??

Her hair in that pic is not short round the sides like yours , it's wetted it gelled down . I'd be upset too, on the upside it will grow quickly ..

It is long and floppy on top thank goodness. I don't really mind how it looks from the front, it's the side and back I hate. I can't pull off a haircut this short.

I'm so angry. I can't ask for a refund as my DH does a lot of work for the salon. But I'm definitely not going back!

Can anyone recommend any knotted type hairbands that will cover my ears and the back?

I cant see your pic, but that looks like a short tousled bob, not a pixie. Do you think the hairdresser wasnt clear, if you showed a pic of one thing and asked for another.

Your pic looks like the first pic, to me. A bit like the second pic, but the third pic is clearly longer.

Give it a couple of weeks and you will probably find you are happier then when it's grown back slightly.
