I want to online shop (but for someone who is not me), does anybody need anything?

I don't mean I'll actually buy you anything (sorry if you got excited there), I'm just in the mood to do some browsing but can't justify getting anything at all for myself.

If you are having difficulty finding an outfit/item or you just hate the search please give me a brief and I'll do my best to help!

Irvina- in my fevered imagination you are a cross between Mel in Flight of the Conchords and Bob in Whataboutbob, and you have been in therapy with the great man himself. Tell me I’m right Wink.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/04/2018 16:44

Haber
This is pretty and comes in yellow too. Not many sizes available but there's a 10 in the navy and their stuff sometimes comes up big. Could be nice worn a bit 60s style with a light coloured jacket and shoes maybe?

Pretty pale pink lace

Printed pink

pretty but maybe a bit too little girlish?

I really like this

Gorgeous colour

BigFatBloomers · 11/04/2018 17:55

@OllyBJolly

I know Irvina suggested a couple of options but have you looked at Seasalt?

They do a good range of different shaped dresses.

IrvinaYalom · 11/04/2018 20:17

@whataboutbob That mental image is so much better than the reality that I would never contradict it. I hope all who bother to picture me picture me thus.

Been busy today but just had to pop in with a jumper suggestion for poor @SneakyGremlins after having so rudely neglected him!

Hi Irvina

I'm curious why you are doing this thread?

Are you practicing for a role as a personal shopper or are you trying to indulge in a shopping habit but without affecting your bank account or something else or just killing time?

Not being snipy, it's a kind thing to do... just curious...

SneakyGremlins · 11/04/2018 20:29

I didn't want to mention being left out but I did wonder Easter Blush

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 11/04/2018 20:33

@irvana and helpers. Dd really needs you all!

She needs some prom shoes for awkward feet and she doesn't want them to be prom shoes!

Dress is fairly traditional navy satin with some lace. Full length.

She has very narrow feet size 6. She doesn't like heels. We bought these but they are too wide.

Probably silver or navy would be best. Definitely no toe post. It's pretty much guaranteed that if they don't have an adjustable buckle or strap they will be too wide.

Thanks Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/04/2018 20:54

Bishop silver flats
Or she could always change into silver Converse for dancing in?!

whataboutbob · 11/04/2018 21:22

Yes Irvina you are staring in my mini mental movie as a Mel/ BIll MUrray mash up stalking Irving Yalom all the way to his New England holiday home. And offering to re style his entire wardrobe Grin.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/04/2018 21:33

Bishop my dd has these for ‘parties’ as she won’t wear traditional dressy shoes.

BigFatBloomers · 11/04/2018 21:44

@Tattersail

The boots weren’t these were they?

sockappella · 11/04/2018 21:57

Wonderwoman1981
That's lovely, but I don't have the boobage to fill it!

Any other suggestions for the Ritz? No idea how fancy I'm meant to be!

BigFatBloomers · 11/04/2018 22:03

@glitterbiscuits

uniqlo is good for men’s jean. Have quite a few slim fit tops too

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/04/2018 22:04

I know nothing about the Ritz, but if I had no boobage and suited yellow (ie was completely not me) I'd be tempted by this for a special occasion dress.

Or a Whistles silk bodycon dress.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 11/04/2018 22:28

remus and newaveragebear thank you so much. Both great suggestions. We have ordered some sparkly pumps from office. Not converse but very similar (except only £14.99Grin)

She has now said if she can get changed for dancing she might try some heels for photos / arriving so I've also ordered [[https://www.schuh.co.uk/womens/schuh-kiss-it-silver-low-heels/1229037660/ these]] for her to try.

Both pairs cost less than one pair of the flats I'm sending back tomorrow!

BigFatBloomers · 11/04/2018 22:39

@ChaosAndPiss

Been looking for non-scary dresses. How about something like this? You could wear a vest top under it if it was too low)

I think you could wear it with flat sandals if they also looked a bit vintage. I love these but realise the lobster might not be to anyone else’s taste!Smile

relaxitllbeok · 11/04/2018 22:48

Are you still taking requests? I have one I'm being really fussy about - I can find a million things that are nearly right but the devil's in the details. I want a longish, chunky/cosy (this is the hard part - there are lots of flimsy ones but that's not what I want), pale grey cardigan in natural fibres but not wool (eg cotton/silk mix), without a belt, with either no buttons or interesting big ones. The sort of thing I might put on over either trousers or a dress outdoors by the sea on one of those evenings that turns out to be really quite chilly, but still feel a bit elegant... Will be really impressed if someone can find this!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/04/2018 22:52

Relax - Too flimsy?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/04/2018 22:52

Ahh - it's wool. Sorry!

relaxitllbeok · 11/04/2018 22:56

Also yes, too flimsy. Somehow that weight never suits me. I need something that will hang rather than cling. (Oh, should have said: am a 12, mostly, sometimes 14 for hips.)

relaxitllbeok · 11/04/2018 22:57

Thanks for trying though!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/04/2018 22:59

This is nice but only half of it is natural fibre.

relaxitllbeok · 11/04/2018 23:07

Hmm, that's really close though... That one makes me feel if I were rational I'd just buy it, but somehow...

VetOnCall · 12/04/2018 00:13

If you're still taking requests, I could do with help finding a few 'smart casual' tops - the kind of thing that could be worn on pub dates/out for a relaxed drink with skinny jeans and ankle boots or sandals. I have casual tops and I have dressy tops but I'm struggling to find anything in between.

I'm 36, 5'7, size 8 or sometimes a 6 in the likes of Next, small boobs. Don't suit red, pink or yellow at all. Suit blues, greys, black, white, maybe green. Prefer more fitted styles, anything loose or baggy tends to just look shapeless on me. Not a fan of flowery prints or slogans. Help much appreciated!
