I want to online shop (but for someone who is not me), does anybody need anything?

I don't mean I'll actually buy you anything (sorry if you got excited there), I'm just in the mood to do some browsing but can't justify getting anything at all for myself.

If you are having difficulty finding an outfit/item or you just hate the search please give me a brief and I'll do my best to help!

Well you didn’t specify that it had to be a human!

paceyswife · 09/04/2018 14:55

I'm a curvy 16 and need a hen do outfit! I need minimum knee length and nothing high necked. Like 50s style stuff but just don't want to look ancient! I have an excellent shoe collection so shoes and accessories can prob be accommodated for most things!

WhaleTasting · 09/04/2018 15:00

I love this thread! Anyone else googling along too?!

@mamahanji is something like this what you are after or not fancy enough? www.demidress.com/products/chic-a-line-prom-dress-modest-black-lace-cheap-long-prom-dress-vb1753?variant=5977563136032

Will back away from OP's thread now Grin

mamahanji · 09/04/2018 15:03

Ahh! I think that's too fancy for me 😭😭 this is so outside my comfort zone.

Thanks for trying though!

eyesonme · 09/04/2018 15:15

Ooh! If your still at it, I have an interview for the police assessment in a few weeks and need something interview/work wear wise.
I'm 5ft 4, size 12.
Prefer dresses but I'm open to anything!

zippyswife · 09/04/2018 15:19

@eyesonme don’t do it!!!!!
Sorry that’s probably not helpful on the clothes front. Mine was a long time ago and I wore something boring and safe (which was completely different to the kind of thing I’d normally have worn back then).
If you have anything at home along the lines of black trousers/jacket blouse and loafers/brogues I’d go for that. Don’t waste money on an outfit for the day- you’ll be in uniform for a good while to start so won’t get to wear it again! Good luck

zippyswife · 09/04/2018 15:21

.... and just tie your hair back (if it’s long) in a bun/ponytail so it looks neat and you look efficient/serious/ready to fit their mould!

eyesonme · 09/04/2018 15:25

Ha ha! I've got through three times but changed my mind at the last minute.

I really don't have anything suitable, I just usually wear joules dresses and boots for work

IrvinaYalom · 09/04/2018 15:26

Just been out to lunch so haven't made much headway yet... will buckle down now though! (Yep, that's my life- lunching and shopping for strangers)

I'm wishing I could pull off hour glass shaped fancy goth so I can wear it in the garden with the kids, sigh

BikeRunSki · 09/04/2018 15:29

I’ve got size 9/43 feet. I nddd some smart-casual flatish sandals for work. Dress code is the dreaded smart casual.

It is amazing isn't it! But I know I will feel like I'm playing dress up with the big kids 😔

IrvinaYalom · 09/04/2018 15:34

@SneakyGremlins Is the man's jumper for a man or a woman who likes oversized manny things?

OP posts:
Jellybean2017 · 09/04/2018 15:35

@chaosandpiss you may find something here www.pocketwatchandpetticoats.com/

SparkwoodAnd21 · 09/04/2018 15:36

Pashazade they all look too long too! My ideal ones are the ones Primark used to do, but don’t any more.

Paceyswife have you tried Collectif or Joanie? Lots of ‘50s stuff and sale is always good.

SneakyGremlins · 09/04/2018 15:36

For a man! Me Grin

Pinkpiglet · 09/04/2018 15:38

That’s very kind of you IrvinaYalom.
I need a cover up for a wedding in June.
I have bought this dress:
www.karenmillen.com/gb/womens/clothing/dresses/floral-strappy-midi-dress/018584.html?dwvar_018584_color=39&position=21&cgid=dresses#page=2&start=21&categoryID=dresses

And I have cobalt blue shoes and clutch bag. I just need something incase it’s chilly. I’m a size 10/12.
Many thanks for any suggestions!

CocoLoco87 · 09/04/2018 15:42

Are you still up for online shopping @IrvinaYalom? I've got a black tie event in the Summer and need a dress! I really want to avoid black or navy dresses as I've done them lots. I did cobalt blue last year so was thinking gold or light pink would be a nice change. Open to suggestions though. I don't care if it's floor length or knee length. I'm 5'8 size 14, in my 30s if it's relevant. Budget £100. TIA Smile

Hippywannabe · 09/04/2018 15:44

This dress in a size 18 or 20!it is Debenhams collection and I bought one from ebay in a 22 early last year. It looks amazing on but was too big. I will be ecstatic if anyone can find me one!

@BadTasteFlump How do you feel about these?

Buzzlightyearsbumchin · 09/04/2018 15:51

If anyone has time I need an outfit for a December wedding. I'm a 16/18 and always wear off the shoulder tops, I need a flattering dress for this stupid wedding but hate wearing anything fancy. Red is my favourite colour but anything will do (accessories and shoes would also be great). I'm a fat arse pear shape Grin

thefirstmrsdewinter · 09/04/2018 15:59

Op you genius! I'm trying to cut down on buying online as well, this sounds like the perfect solution if you quite like a browse.

If you aren't already swamped, I'm looking for a fitted jumpsuit: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/3217314-Can-anyone-help-me-find-a-fitted-navy-jumpsuit-utility-flight-suit

Wish I’d seen this thread before I did loads of shopping. Off to a hen do spa weekend and always struggle with swimwear as I’m tall and curvy

Just popped in to say that M&S do longer length swimming costumes and this one has enough room for my ample cleavage and doesn’t cause me to spill out like so many plunge style suits. It also has slimming ruching across the middle.
