Anyone want to loose 7lbs with me?

ifonly4 · 16/10/2015 10:28

Just wondering, if anyone wants to join me and loose 7lbs (give or take a few pounds depending on circumstances). Have put that on in the summer, cut back on alcohol and snacking in the evening since but hasn't helped, so need some inspiration without starving myself to death and treats going totally out of the window!

I'm not overweight, but jeans feel a bit tight and extra flab is hanging out so just want to get it back to "normal".

Kate, how did you get on with your fast?

Green, I bet you're so pleased. Just keep focussed on what you want to achieve and keep at it.

Happy, well done.

EE, it happens to us all at some point. You're back running which is good. Try and cut back a bit and I'm sure you'll things will be better after you've come on.

I'm pleased to say I weighed myself and am still at my goal weight. Had to rethink a couple of times in the week about what I was eating to make sure I don't slip back into old habits.

I’m doing okay ifonly managed both my fasts successfully this week but am still sitting at 11 stone - just glad it isn’t going up. I’m going to keep persevering though as I think I maybe eating a bit too much on my 5 days Blush.

I did have measurements from the end of June and I decided to compare myself against them last weekend even though someone on this thread advised me not too incase it was demotivating Grin. And since then I have lost nearly 3 inches from my waist (round my tummy button so love handle area) but nothing about my bum or bust! I am definitely an hourglass shape.

That is great that you are managing to maintain your goal weight Smile

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 28/11/2015 21:26

Thank you If. Having read people's experiences on this thread I'm going to do fast days and generally exercise restraint, and keep with the running. I've gone down a belt hole since the last time I wore these jeans, so something's going well.

Ponymagic · 28/11/2015 21:59

Can I join please? I weighed myself for the first time in many months and have gone about 8lb above my ideal weight. Every single ounce is sitting on my tummy and small of back, there is no excess anywhere else.

How do I get rid? I don't exercise Blush, am a lazy lump and enjoy homemade cakes/biscuits too much. Couldn't survive a 5:2 type diet. Could cut back on the cup of tea and something sweet to eat 2/3 times a day and reduce portion sizes plus try to throw in a bit of exercise when I remember a couple of times a week. Will this help slim me down for Christmas?

Thanks!

thistlebefab · 28/11/2015 22:22

ifonly, I'm just catching up.... well done on achieving your goal and maintaining it! And thank you for the encouragement. I've had a ridiculously busy week, during which I achieved no fast days and didn't even think about what I was eating.

This week though, it'll all be different! Going back to phase 1 of the Harcombe diet to see if I can get myself back on track (and lose a few pounds quite quickly)

KateSpade, stick in! It's horrible when you feel stuck, but don't let it put you off (can you hear the words pot, kettle and black in that statement?!)

Ponymagic, welcome! Sounds like your plan is a good one and you should definitely see and feel a difference in a fairly short time - good luck!

Madmog · 30/11/2015 15:08

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted for a while - I've been busy working extra hours, xmas shopping, tidying messy garden etc!

I know I only had 6lbs to loose, but I've done it. I think I'd put on middle age spread over the last few months, so it wasn't a strict diet, more a case of adjustments and cutting back a bit. I just have to keep it off now! Jeans & trousers are definitely more comfortable.

Glad to see there are regulars still posting. Just keep going, even if you had a bad week or two.

Pony, welcome. That's exactly what I did and lost weight. Instead of having 2/3 biscuits with drink, I now only have one. I've been trying to have smaller portions or thinking of a lower calorie option, and pretty much cut out evening snacking (had the odd lapse though but anything is better than nothing). If you're not into exercise, maybe try some toning at home (just a few mins a day) which is what I did. Make yourself go out for a walk or walk further than usual. It all helps.

twobambinos · 30/11/2015 22:06

Well done if only and mad mog on reaching goal.
4lbs to go for me. I completely fell off the wagon the last two weeks. Back on it tomorrow I hope. Everyone else keep up the good work

Ponymagic · 30/11/2015 22:11

Well done maddog and thank you! I've been fast to fall off the wagon, having just consumed a bar of chcocolate (it has been a stressful evening!). I have been doing just as you said - one biscuit, skipping the odd cup of tea and reducing portion sizes. Just need to find the time to squeeze in some exercise .

AWONI · 30/11/2015 22:52

Hi everyone, haven't posted in a while but I've been trying to stick to my plan. Weighed myself yesterday and I'm 8 st 9.6, so about 5 and a half pounds down from when I started. I also measured myself and I've lost two inches from my waist and one from my bum. Brilliant! My period's due and I've eaten all of the chocolate in the house today but hopefully that urge will pass soon and I'll go back to being sensible. Sorry not to name check everyone (I'm on my phone) but well done to all of us! Smile

Madmog · 01/12/2015 11:00

If, forgot to congratulate you. I bet you were really pleased. Just keep all the good work up!

Pony I think we all slip up from time to time, but the main thing is that we're trying inbetween times as any reduction in calories is good. If you can't find the time to go out and exercise, try doing little extras at home - ie a toning exercise (a few lunches, stretches etc) when you're getting changed, waiting for kettle to boil or cooking. It all helps.

Awoni, you've done really well, stick at it. As said before I only wanted to loose 6lbs, but it might have been interested if I'd measured myself along the way. Clothes are definitely more comfortable though.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 01/12/2015 14:55

Lots of good news, well done everyone who has done so well! I have re-committed, my aim was to lose 9lb and I've now lost 3 so hey, a third of the way there. Plus I'm running again.

ifonly4 · 02/12/2015 14:44

Everything sounds positive, either people loosing, staying where they are which is positive or getting back in the right frame of mind.

I eat far too much pasta yesterday (leftovers from day before and then realized we didn't have much in so more pasta). Back on track today, less for lunch and have some fish and veggies tonight.

Another 1lb off! Xmas Grin

Newbrummie · 06/12/2015 18:03

I've not got weight to loose but cricket this stomach wasn't here this time last year, lack of ex cerise is really biting me.
I'm hitting the beach at Christmas, any miracle cures around ?

AWONI · 08/12/2015 17:55

Hi newbrummie, sorry but I've been doing the very boring eat-less-exercise-more thing. Dull but effective! If you're just looking to tone up, the 30 day shred is good.

cheapskatemum · 08/12/2015 21:21

Hi all! I haven't posted for such a long time, but I've lost 7.5lb & am just under 10st which is what I wanted, so I've done it. I wish everyone success with their weight loss, especially now the mince pies are out & about with a vengeance!

Madmog · 09/12/2015 10:39

Wow, that's brilliant, cheapskatemum.

After reaching my target, I've put 1lb back on. Can't believe it as I've still been eating less biscuits, not snacking at night. I have a meal out this week as well, so will see what I weigh in at next weekend. I'm determined not to put the weight back on, just need to find that right balance.

cheapskatemum · 13/12/2015 23:09

Congratulations on reaching target, Madmog! Is there any way you can up the amount of activity you do to help you stay there? I'm dreading putting any weight back on.

Madmog · 14/12/2015 10:49

Just checking in, after reaching my goal and then putting on 1lb, weighed myself yesterday and have lost 2lbs so 1lb under my target. It'd be good if I could keep this extra 1lb off so I have something to play with over Xmas!

cheap, my job involves lots of walk/physical activity, I walk everywhere if it's possible and do a couple of lots of planned exercise each week, so haven't got the energy to increase activity, so for me I think I need to continue with cutting back on biscuits, having a bit less calorie wise at teatime etc.

How's everyone else doing that's posted on this thread? Good or bad, let us know.

AWONI · 14/12/2015 15:02

Weighed in this morning at 8 stone 7. I am so chuffed and thank you all for the support and encouragement Xmas Grin Flowers

AWONI · 14/12/2015 15:03

madmog maybe I'll keep going for a week or so, so I have a little wiggle room weight wise

ifonly4 · 18/12/2015 13:47

Well done everyone, sounds like you're doing really well. I'm still at my target weight, which I'm going to try and stay at over Christmas. Had my works xmas yesterday, but made a point of not eating anything else later (as I'd normally do) as I wasn't hungry. I'm going to do my best at sticking to slightly smaller portions/eating lower calorie options and having the odd biscuit less.

Madmog, you lucky girl, sounds like you've got a bit to play with over xmas.

OP posts:
cheapskatemum · 21/12/2015 21:53

Madmog sounds ideal, enjoy your Xmas! I'm so chuffed I weigh the same after a weekend in Scotland with DH's family. I really struggle up there at the best of times. Weirdly, his DS (my DSS) is now also avoiding wheat products, which made it easier for me too Smile

cheapskatemum · 21/12/2015 21:54

Congratulations AWONI and ifonly4!

ifonly4 · 22/12/2015 10:37

I think we've all been doing well. I know the next week or so will be harder limiting things, but can we agree to touch base after Xmas so we can get ourselves back on track?
