Anyone want to loose 7lbs with me?

ifonly4 · 16/10/2015 10:28

Just wondering, if anyone wants to join me and loose 7lbs (give or take a few pounds depending on circumstances). Have put that on in the summer, cut back on alcohol and snacking in the evening since but hasn't helped, so need some inspiration without starving myself to death and treats going totally out of the window!

I'm not overweight, but jeans feel a bit tight and extra flab is hanging out so just want to get it back to "normal".

I had 3 meals today. Two of them were out brekkie was fine it would have kept me going till dinner only I went for coffee and cake for lunch or should I say hot choc with all the trimmings and cake and then I couldn't be bothered to cook so do brought home Chinese and cans of minerals. But usually my diet isn't that bad. Ill be a bit better tomorrow. I did do a small bit of intervals tonight to compensate but I'm actually so full I could hardly run

harrasseddotcom · 18/11/2015 21:55

count me in but my periods are imminent and i feel so bloated just now. plus im pretty sure that i also seem to put on a few lbs over this week too. otherwise im looking at loosing nearer the stone mark :D

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 19/11/2015 12:57

Well, I had a fall off the wagon yesterday, didn't dare check the scales today! Back on track today with roasted sweet potato and salad for lunch, and I virtuously didn't sample the muffins DD and I baked! Also made a massive pot of veggie tagine for dinner so no excuses later.

I know what you mean about the weather though Thistle - I feel the need for warm, hearty food (hence tagine!) and haven't persuaded myself to go running in the cold, dark, Hurricane Barney swept evenings.

Greengardenpixie · 19/11/2015 14:00

Well I am hoping I can join in here.
I have been on the 5:2 for about 3 weeks [ at the end of this week]. Have lost about 1/2 stone so far. I am 5ft 5 and weigh 11 stone 5 currently. Hoping to get down to 10 1/2 stone so have a stone to go and then to 9 stone something. Weigh in due on Saturday. Have done my two 'fast' days so glad that I can eat 'normally' until Monday. I'm hoping that I may have lost again when Saturday comes round.
Have tried on some of my clothes and my 12's are starting to fit again yipee!!!!! Grin but I still have a way to go!
Christmas night out on the 18th December!!! Would like to look slim for that!

Greengardenpixie · 19/11/2015 14:05

Oh and I better as I have ordered two dresses in a size 12 and 10 [hopefull emoticon!] from Toast!

twobambinos · 20/11/2015 08:44

Welcome to all the new joiners
Congrats to all the losers.

I'm down to 9 St 4.75 so. 75 of a pound this week. Not hectic but it's good enough considering it wasn't a great week. I'm back on it now tho. Hope to have a good week and show a better loss by next Friday.

How is everyone else getting on? Enjoy the weekend

HappyGirlNow · 20/11/2015 13:08

Hi all, 1.5lbs off this week on Slimming World.. So I'd like at least 3lbs off to feel pretty good but ideally would like a further 1/2stone after that...

Greengardenpixie · 20/11/2015 18:24

Well am not on my fast day today so am really enjoying food! Careful not to go over my 1600 cals though!

KateSpadeAddict · 20/11/2015 22:09

Everyone’s doing great Smile I’ll definitely look into that standing abs video thanks!

greengarden I find it really strange to read that you’re back into fitting your 12s when reading your height/weight as I am 5ft4 (possibly 3 Grin ) and have gone from being just under 12 stone to being 11 stone through doing the 5:2 for the last wee while and I’ve never been over a size 12. Very occasionally I find that fitted trousers will be obscenely tight on my bum/thighs (although generally be too loose on my waist). I must be more dense than you!

I have been a little sad this week and last as I have done my usual fasting and I am still 11 stone Sad I’ve not lost anything. I am trying to blame the fact that it has been my time of the month and I feel generally bloated then - so surely heavier? And also I eat anything unhealthy in sight during this week! Blush I make myself sound so desirable. I am going to try my wedding dress on this week and I desperately want it to be too big!!

Greengardenpixie · 21/11/2015 09:02

Well posted on the 5:2 thread but kind of need advice!!!

Well weighed myself and think I have lost about 2lbs. My scales are hard to read!
As for the dress I ordered in a 12 and 10, the jury is out as to keep it, it is supertight across the bust and arms although to look at it, it doesn't look that way really. Maybe a little pull there atm. I think its more the lining that is sewn into it make the dress effectively smaller. I really love it and its a classic velvet dress that I could literally wear for years...so do I keep it? Is it badly made? Will i Lose it in the arms, back, bust? Across the thighs it feels a teeniest bit narrow but not uncomfortable so thats fine. I have 4 weeks to go before my night out. If I keep it, i cant afford to buy anything else but i do have other things I could wear...oh decisions decisions. Oh and it's out of stock in a 14 and don't know at this stage if it will be ever be back in stock. Other reviews say its tight in that area. So keep? Return? Incentive or just plain stupid?

Greengardenpixie · 21/11/2015 09:05

Katespade, I agree. I have no idea. Maybe its just the way my body is made up? I have read other people who are size 14's and are much heavier than me. A lot of people say there is NO WAY I am a 14 but my dress's tell a different story! [Read the above thread ^^]

Greengardenpixie · 21/11/2015 09:06

Katespade, definetly time of the month :) Just taking time for the scales to catch up. Measure your waist etc as well.
I am a 30 inch waist now and a 40 inch hips. I started at 34 inches waist and 42 in the hips.

Greengardenpixie · 21/11/2015 09:48

Well Toast just sent me 20% off so have re-ordered the dress in a 12!!! Will return the two I have [ seems crazy, i know]. It was just way too much money to have off it!! It is an expensive dress so it was like £35 off!!!! When it comes i will decide again!

KateSpadeAddict · 21/11/2015 11:08

If you keep loosing weight the way you are I'm sure the velvet dress will fit you better in 4 weeks Smile link to it? What about some Spanx for the tightness across thighs? 20% off is great! I hope you're right and the scales will drop a little in a couple of days. I do have measurements from about 3 months ago so could compare me now to them. Although that was a few months after completing the shred so it may be disheartening rather than encouraging!

Greengardenpixie · 21/11/2015 12:55

The tightness across the thighs is not bad at all. Its mostly across the chest and upper arms. Lucky for me, that is where i always put the weight on so maybe it will come off.
The dress actually is very plain. Here is the link. It is in grey. Its got a very elegant boat neck. with the 20% off it was about £130. I have it in the grey velvet as although i would lean to the red, its just a tad too dressy/christmassy and less versatile for me. The velvet has a very
vintage feel to it. I dont like the shoes or tights the model has on. Will be wearing black tights and a heel.

Greengardenpixie · 21/11/2015 12:59

Kate, the scales dropped for me. I weighed in at the same but my measurements were not accurate as i used the measuring tape and i had definetly lost about an inch. Are you on the 5:2 thread? I can link to it if you like? Bigchoc [ the guru!!!] said it should show in a couple of days. It did for me. Sometimes it takes a while for the scales to catch up. Just take your measurements now as an insurance policy if the scales are wonky! Dont check back. Its depressing. I happened to do that. I lost loads when i had my daughter 4 years ago. MFPal showed me all the pounds I had lost...and now gained. I am so determined this time. I love the 5:2. It fits in with my life and I don't feel deprived.

KateSpadeAddict · 22/11/2015 11:56

Ooh I like it Greengarden I agree with your alternate styling Smile . I’m not on any 5:2 threads no, I mainly hang about here! Hmm yes maybe your right, I shouldn’t look at my previous measurements although I would hope they would be a little smaller. I deleted MFPal because of looking back at it!

How is everyone else getting on? Good weekends? Grin

AWONI · 22/11/2015 21:26

Another half a pound off this week, not surprising, the amount of junk I've eaten. Have devoured most of the house today too. Getting back on it tomorrow. I WILL stick to 1200 calories. I will I will I will. goes to make cup of tea and eat more cake just to use it up

ifonly4 · 23/11/2015 10:03

Kate, don't feel defeated, if you're bloated you've probably got a bit of temporary water retention. Also, we don't loose weight off the same areas, just try to focus on the fact you're going in the right direction - it's still positive you're the same and not put any on.

Awoni, well done. We all have ups and downs but it's good it's going in the right direction.

Green, that's a great incentive loosing weight and having a nice dress to wear!

Thistle, I'm nagging you to get back into cutting back!!

Now I have some news, after no loss last week I've lost my last 1lb off and I've reached my goal!!! Really pleased, but am conscious not to go back to bad habits especially with Xmas coming up. I'm going to keep up eating less biscuits, not snacking so much in the evenings (have been good and had a yogurt evenings I've wanted to munch) and will just try and limit things a little over Xmas. Is it still okay if I still check in on here (I don't want to appear like I'm showing off and reminding everyone I've lost and their still trying). If I don't check in for a while, can someone PM and ask how I'm doing?

OP posts:
AWONI · 23/11/2015 10:25

Well done if!!! That's brilliant news. Yes please please keep posting, it gives me hope that I'll get there, and I imagine it gives everyone else hope too. You're not showing off, you're being motivational!! Grin

Star Star Star Star Star Star Star

ifonly4 · 24/11/2015 11:26

Thanks Awoni. I'm sure you'll get there. For me I think it was a case of not getting to down on myself if I had a fail, and accepting I'll get back into cutting back later that day/next morning. Anything less consumed is positive!

After yesterday, I do need to keep posting even though I've reached my goal. Stupidly eat a cake, banana, pasta and crusty bread (far too much) in afternoon and for tea. Trying to be good today and keep it down.

OP posts:
KateSpadeAddict · 24/11/2015 19:12

That’s great ifonly Smile Well done!! Star

Managed my fast day yesterday. Chicken fajitas for tea tonight - yum Grin

Greengardenpixie · 27/11/2015 11:00

Well the 12 I reordered with the discount practically slipped on. Bit tight still on the arms but that will loosen. Of course there may be a difference even with dresses of the same size but it doesn't half make me feel good. Not sure if i will weigh myself tomorrow. Feeling good about weight loss and don't want to spoil it if the scales don't add up. May give it a miss!!!

My jeans that were super tight 3 weeks ago now fit well.
A dress i used to wear but had got too tight for was loose.
A skirt i had kept and couldn't wear as the waist was too tight - I had it on yesterday!!!!! Grin I love love love 5:2

Seems so much easier!

HappyGirlNow · 27/11/2015 14:36

Hi all, 1lb off this week with Slimming World... Really need to up the ante as want to lose another 7lbs and Xmas dos coming up!!

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 27/11/2015 14:42

If, that's brilliant! I have had a slip up and was half a pound up today (probably would have been more as DH and I hit the chocolates we got as a present) but I have been running again). Also I'm pre menstrual and bloated, so a bit depressed by the setback. So thank you for the inspiration, I will read back to see how everyone is doing it!
