Anyone want to loose 7lbs with me?

ifonly4 · 16/10/2015 10:28

Just wondering, if anyone wants to join me and loose 7lbs (give or take a few pounds depending on circumstances). Have put that on in the summer, cut back on alcohol and snacking in the evening since but hasn't helped, so need some inspiration without starving myself to death and treats going totally out of the window!

I'm not overweight, but jeans feel a bit tight and extra flab is hanging out so just want to get it back to "normal".

Evening all, fasting here too. Think I've managed 540 calories, going out to Pilates soon and then will drink ginger tea if I'm peckish. Weighing day tomorrow... Yikes!

KateSpadeAddict · 26/10/2015 19:51

So my fast today was going so so well till dp phoned me on his way home and suggested we go out for dinner Sad so today I’ve had a cuppa soup, goats cheese salad and chicken burritos Sad. I am admitting it here so that you can shame me!! Probably around 900/1000 calories?

Will try to fast again tomorrow Grin

thistlebefab · 26/10/2015 22:34

That's ok though Kate, the brilliant thing about fasting is that it's flexible and you can switch days whenever you need to. Don't feel bad about! You've got a plan B Smile

ifonly4 · 27/10/2015 10:22

thistle - good luck with your weight in, let us know how it goes

Kate - totally your dp's fault you had a lapse yesterday. Your intake was more than planned, but still less than your body would use in a day!

Eat out in town yesterday and ended up doing something awful - I had half portion of chips. Later had tuna sandwich, as DH made too many, with veggie sticks. It was buttered which I can do without. Things in fridge need using up - low cal coleslaw, cold rice, small amount of tuna, cucumber - need to think how I can add to them to make two meals for myself. Everyone else having pizza and jacket potato tonight.

Hope everyone is getting on okay. School hols here so seem to be more temptations, not saying I haven't had things I shouldn't, but am still making the effort to cut back. Been for an hour's walk this morning, so good to get some exercise in.

KateSpadeAddict · 27/10/2015 17:55

madmog I can’t fast on a holiday at all, I have to be at work and constantly busy to keep my mind off food.

ifonly I’d mix all that stuff together and just eat it Grin sounds like it could be yummy. Do you find it hard cooking for others and then not eating it yourself?

I have failed today unfortunately too thistlebe as I think I have an ear infection meaning that at any noise at all I have a high pitched ringing in my ears and they are generally pretty sore Sad. I can’t be ill and hungry at the same time! Today I’ve had chicken and rice soup, a cupcake and will have my mac n cheese ready meal and spinach that I was supposed to eat yesterday for dinner.

Might try again for 500 calories on Thursday if I am feeling better.

thistlebefab · 27/10/2015 23:22

Well. I didn't lose a single ounce this week! I do feel a bit better about myself though, so hoping for a decent loss next week (otherwise I may need to look at alternatives to fasting). Have had a good day today, 1200 cals and a 2 mile run Smile

Kate, I'm the same, can't do poorly and hungry - hope you're feeling better soon. Fasting can wait!

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 28/10/2015 08:39

Hello all, sorry I am rubbish at name checking. I agree with work making fasting easier.ni don't have any work on atm and hence my terrible week last week. I am trying really hard after the weekend's shock weigh in. Hopefully back on track. Although I did go for a beer last night despite it being s fast day......

KateSpadeAddict · 28/10/2015 22:13

I think generally a more positive attitude to cutting back will help only so doing a fast but having a beer is still limiting calorie intake from a usual day so it can only be a good thing surely Smile

Thanks thistlebe currently lying in bed after a hellish day at work! Back on track for me next week I think. 2 mile run is great! Well done Grin do you run most weeks or are you trying it out as an aid to weight loss? Grin

thistlebefab · 29/10/2015 00:44

Only, one beer is not so bad.... Wink

Kate, I used to run a lot - half marathons and 10ks - although it was really jogging... But I haven't run fir about 2 years so this is me easing back into it in an attempt to tone up. I'd really like to go back to Kettlebells as I used to love it and it really gave me a waist and toned shoulders! But I'll see how I get on with running first.

I've had a very long day, didn't log my food, fast day tomorrow. Oh well!

ifonly4 · 29/10/2015 09:57

Only, as said by Kate having a beer isn't a complete fail, you're still taking in a low amount of calories.

Kate - hope you have a better day at work. How's your ear infection?

thistle - you really do have a plan with the fasting and jogging which is something you know you can build up slowly.

Had a complete fail yesterday. Stupidly bought puff pastry mince pies for visitors today, tried one - it was so nice I had to have another, then I had more than I should have done for tea - don't me nice to me about this! I don't think I'll be able to resist a mince pie when they come out for visitors, but am planning on no bread today and have some white fish which I may just serve with peas later.

I'm feeling loads better but not 100% yet thanks - work still a pain and I'm back for a couple of hours tonight Sad

That's fab thistle - I think that's my main vice for being on the chubby side - no exercise!
Today I've eaten a cheese and ham toastie, a crispy cake and a Morrisons 'nume' lasagne ... Grin

HappyGirlNow · 29/10/2015 21:17

cheapskatemum sorry just noticed your question re what I am eating (Slimming World)

I'm having 2 slices of nimble wholemeal as toast (the fibre healthy extra) with a scrape of butter from my syns allowance... Then I eat loads of fruit to fill me up (all free).. Ive felt stuffed most days and I can eat!

I've been making things like the slimming world chilli con carne or spag Bol for dinner but then taking a small portion to work for lunch the next day to have with rice or pasta or a baked potato (all free).. Also for dinner this week I've had pork loin steaks with no fat and veg (tiny amount of butter on it) one night and another night I had a lamb steak with Harissa paste and rice... I do use a few syns almost daily on a glass of wine..!had the occasional fruit corner but that's syns...

Planning on eating more fish from next week.. Maybe do it in oven and serve with veg...

What are you eating?

HappyGirlNow · 29/10/2015 21:18

Weigh in tomorrow... eek...

Madmog · 30/10/2015 09:44

Happy, good luck with the weigh in. Mines on Saturday. By the way, I bought some white frozen fish from Tescos, lightly baked it and served with broccoli, peas and carrots - enjoyed that, so I'm going to get some more. I'm going to get some more this weekend and making a tomato sauce to put over the top, that way all family can have.

My tummy was feeling bloated before I started being more careful and it does feel better.

ifonly4 · 31/10/2015 16:44

I'm happy here, after not doing quite so well this week with cutting back, I weighed myself this morning and have lost another 2lbs.

Happy - did you do your weigh in?

Kate, Thistle and Only - how have you got on the last couple of days? Hope you're starting to feel better, Kate.

That’s great ifonly Grin well done!!
I’ve not had the best weekend eating wise, it has involved 5 guys, popcorn and a takeaway pizza alongside many cocktails...! I haven’t stood on the scales as I am too scared. Back on the fast tomo though Smile

KateSpadeAddict · 01/11/2015 11:41

5 guys is a burger place!!! After reading my post i’ve realised that it sounds a bit dodgy!

Scattymum101 · 02/11/2015 08:29

Oh I am not doing well!!!
Had a terrible week last week as had something on three nights that involved dinner and wine oops.

Managed to find an app that mimics weight watchers without the fee so going to try and see if I can lose the 1.5 lbs I've gained this week. Been terrible with exercise too and feeling wobbly so going to try and do the 7 min workout each day at the least.

Madmog · 02/11/2015 14:58

Well done, IfOnly. I've lost 1lb, making it 3lbs in total. I know it's not a massive amount, but want to loose a small amount (6lbs) and make permanent changes so I don't put it and more back on. Have to say last week wasn't so easy with school hols and extra treats.

Kate, was just thinking you must have had a great time when you mentioned 5 guys then read your next post. Scatty, sorry to hear your week didn't quite so to plan. Hope that app helps and workout help.

KateSpadeAddict · 02/11/2015 22:04

Thats great madmog you are half way there! Grin.

What’s the app called scatty? I may have a search for it.

I’ve done my fast for today - cuppa soup, 8 grapes, weight watchers macaroni cheese and some spinach. Wasn’t too painful at all really. I had worried today would be bad with my failed week last week. I’ll stand on the scales tomorrow morning to see what damage the weekend has done.

Scattymum101 · 02/11/2015 22:09

Another crap day with me not being able to be arsed doing exercise. I've totally lost my mojo.

Ultimate food value diary is the app.

Mad that's great. Any loss is good!

Kate, that doesn't sound too bad. I'm tempted by the 5:2 but not sure I could hack it when I'm back at work.

I seem to have worse pmt, bloating and water weight around ovulation which is bizarre. Hoping that's part of the 1lb gain lol.

HappyGirlNow · 02/11/2015 22:10

Ooh sorry ifonly - I did weigh in last Friday, another 2lbs off, so 7lbs in 2 weeks Grin

But was away for the weekend so off diet... Trying to be really good now in the run up to Friday.

KateSpadeAddict · 02/11/2015 22:17

That’s great happy Grin

scatty you should give it a go, it is definitely more mental than physical for me. If I feel hungry I just say to myself you can eat tomorrow, who cares that you are hungry and then I busy myself with something else. I am aware that that makes me sound a little unhinged but people survive on much less all the time unfortunately. And it does get easier as the weeks go on Smile. Is your job physically exhausting?

Scattymum101 · 02/11/2015 22:21

It's more that I get very light headed if I don't eat regularly more than hunger bothering me.
I've had tests for diabetes in the past and had border line blood sugar and find it drops quite suddenly at times and I need to eat or drink something to bring it back up.
I'd feel a bit nervous about doing it for that reason. I'm a teacher so I'm on my feet all day and think I would find it hard to concentrate if I was doing a fast.

I've also had a border line eating disorder in the past and I'm a bit worried that if I got used to fast days id push myself to do three fast days and then four and it could be a slippery slope. It does sound fab if used in the right way and I'm well aware of the health benefits so I may give it a bash for a month while I'm still off work.
