Anyone want to loose 7lbs with me?

Just wondering, if anyone wants to join me and loose 7lbs (give or take a few pounds depending on circumstances). Have put that on in the summer, cut back on alcohol and snacking in the evening since but hasn't helped, so need some inspiration without starving myself to death and treats going totally out of the window!

I'm not overweight, but jeans feel a bit tight and extra flab is hanging out so just want to get it back to "normal".

I think the key for me is not throwing it all away because I slipped up one day. I'm able to start a fresh the next day instead of going on a three day binge because I've 'wrecked it' anyway. I'm getting better at balancing so if I have a day where I have a bit too much on my tracking days then I just do extra exercise or I have fewer calories the next day to offset it.

Sounds like you're all doing so well.

Although, I'm not on a very strict diet, am still managing to eat less biscuits and making a conscious effort to eat less for lunch and tea. Have avoided evening snacking as well. Doesn't feel like I've lost anything yet (will know on Sat) but I'm happy now I'm doing something.

Kate, thanks will the tip about looking on YouTube - will do that in a min. I'm still doing some toning each day, which may stall my weight loss as muscle weight is more than fat, but it's positive for me.

I feel like I have much better will power on fast days too onlyhere although i’m not sure that I could handle three fast days - may try it in the new year if i’ve got nowhere with my current plan.

Im going strong with today’s fast. I’ve had an 80 cal cup a soup (super nutritious!!) so far and will have my 410 cal ready meal soon.

Evening all!

I've struggled today, have made a couple of silly choices so ended up at 645 calories. Still, it's better than if I hadn't been trying to fast! I've done lots of exercise today too, so mustn't get too despondent. It's really helping me that I know I'll have to declare my misdemeanours on here Wink

Onlyhere, I take my hat off to anyone who can continue to produce lovely bakery products whilst on a diet - I don't blame you for stopping!

ifonly, I'd also struggle with free food. When I'm back in school next week, the real test will be when faced with a staffroom full of biscuits and sweeties.

Madmog, sounds like you're doing really well too - sometimes it takes 3-4 weeks to start showing a difference in inches or weight, but once you get that first loss you'll be spurred on the stick to your plan.

Kate, that's a great fast day! Very well done. I used to think I had more willpower on fast days, but going on this week's fast I'm not so sure! I'll try a cup-a-soup and ready meal combo next week, I think.

Yesterday was not my best day, made a lasagna that just happened to have 2 glasses of red wine in it and then the bottle was open...calling to me and then dh had a very stressful day and I just had to sympathise...I ended up drinking nearly a bottle of wine..pah!

Hello good fast day yest. Prob slightly over the 500 calories but I did t completely give up like I have been doing. My resolve was quickened by my slim friend text me and few other larger friends offering a size 14 coat. Coat is lovely but I am now determined to be removed from her fat friends group.
scatty I know that 'oh I have fallen face first into a bowl of crisps lets just give up' feeling.
kate well done, although cup of soups are revolting, do they give you a full feeling? I haven't had one since school maybe they have improved.
ifony are you weighing in today or tomorrow? I find weighing in hard on the fast diet as my weigh varying wildly through the week. I might have to plot a graph!

I've been doing Slimming World online (joined last Friday, though only really started at the beginning of the week) and I've lost 5lbs... Pretty happy.

Just another 9lbs to go!

Thinking of doing 5:2, with the 2 days being Monday and Tuesday so the fast is already done by Wednesday!

I've lost half a lb this week and not been that good so I'm quite happy. Non tracking day today and tomorrow so it's pizza Friday here with wine yay.

mayum 2 consecutive days is a hideous experience. I tried it once by 3 on the second day I was really to eat my first born. I would advise Monday Wednesday

For those of you weighing, how often are you doing it? I'm doing mine once a week and due to weigh tomorrow. Jeans still feel tight, so not sure what the result will be.

Happy, great result. I'm sure that gives you the incentive to keep it up.

Thanks everyone who has praised me Smile these positive comments are encouraging! I normally have dp groaning that i’m having a ‘starve day’ so he doesn’t get a dinner cooked for him!
onlyhere I had a chicken type one, not particularly filling but I quite like the taste of chicken stock so not so bad in taste Grin being in the fat friend zone is not a happy place to be unless you want to be there Sad

thistlebefab well done - cup-a-soup and ready meal isn’t really the healthiest way to fast but I’m finding its the best way to get through it.

mayum I totally agree with onlyhere....a two day fast would kill me!

ifonly I am currently weighing myself everyday and my weight changes so much. When I started fasting (I think about 5/6 weeks ago) I was always between 11 and half - 12 stone. Now I fluctuate between 11 stone and 11 and a half stone so I am pretty sure that I have actually lost weight but I’m not sure how much exactly Confused I think I need to buy new scales. I am definitely still over weight as i’d much rather be nearer 10 stone Sad

Noto - hope you enjoyed the lasagne the other day. As said before there will be the occasional slip up or event, but as long as we're still keeping on eye on what we eat at other times overall it's good.

OnlyHere - take coat and hope to leave fat friends group ASAP!

Happy - wow I bet you are happy losing so much - that sort of loss is really encouraging.

Mayum - hope the 2 day fasting goes well. I guess you've chosen days when you think it'll be easier.

Scatty - well done on your loss, any loss is really good.

Kate - thanks for suggesting YouTube for exercises. It's given me some fresh ideas.

Ifonly - I'm weighing once a week and Sat is the day.

Weighed myself this morning and have lost 2lbs. Pleased with that as I don't have loads to loose and it's more about making lifestyle changes to lose a little and keep it off.

Hi everyone,
Just catching up... Been drinking wine and eating cheese and various other mega-calorific foods on Friday and Saturday Blush. Will try to stick to 1200 cals today and fast properly tomorrow, will see what the scales say on Tuesday morning but I suspect I haven't lost an ounce this week.
You are all doing so well though!

Weighed in yesterday and lost 2lbs. Would have liked to have lost a little more, but haven't been perfect. Still 2lbs is 2lbs and if I can loose more and keep it off that'll be good.

Well done Madmog - we're both in the 2lb club for the week.

thistle - you're tempting me with the mention of wine and cheese. Forget eating extras on Fri and Sat and start again today.

Kate - it's really good that you've lost weight over the last 5/6 weeks.

What cooked meals are everyone having? I'm trying to eat smaller portions, but think I could be cutting back more.

Hi all, well done to the 2lbs club!
I weighed I today and put on 4 lb! Had a dip in mood and rampaged through the biscuit box on Friday and then had friends round last night. Am fasting today in an attempt to undo the damage. Feel a bit crap about it though.

Only, sorry to hear you've put on a little. Some of it might be a little water and food retention. Try not to be too down about it, you're back on track now and in the right frame of mind which is brilliant. What do you eat when you're fasting?

When I fast I normally have a coffee in the morning, then 100 kcal for lunch, I.e. A few slices of ham and salad or lunch and then whatever we are having for dinner but a smaller portion and no carbs..

I'm in. Blame a 2 week all inclusive in gran canaria for adding 7lb on again...

I did (by mistake) attend a Glow (new name for Rosemary Conley) class last week - I don't fancy doing their diet yet, but the exercise class was good I will go this week and I plan to do the kettle bells ones straight after too. Freaked me out a bit as it was held at my old school (I've moved back to the area).

So far I've bought feta cheese, that tiny pasta and cous cous and salad stuffs and intend using that for work lunches. Walking more too.

Think I've lost 1lb in the last 2 weeks - that's according to my home scales. I was just about to leave for Slimming World weigh in on Wednesday morning when work phoned, someone had gone home sick & could I go in. I need the money so I did, but the food is horrendous! Lunch, for example, was tinned spaghetti in tomato sauce on toast (I have a wheat allergy). I am Envy at those of you who lose 5lb a week! Happygirlnow what sort of thing are you eating?

Ifonly, thanks for your kind words earlier, think I managed to stop at around 1400 cals in the end today, so not too bad. As for the meals I eat, I try to up the protein and eat less pasta, rice etc so that I don't feel hungry just an hour after eating. Lots of salad (with a nice dressing) and things like steamed salmon fillets, chicken etc.

Back to work, and fasting, tomorrow after a fortnight off Confused

I am fasting today. Cup a soup for lunch then macaroni ready meal with lots of spinach planned!

Super - welcome. Are you cutting back a little or will you follow a certain diet? Off topic, but where did you stay in Gran Canaria?

cheap, some people are going to loose more than others some weeks (other weeks they might not loose anything at all). 1lb is still positive, you've lost it and kept it off. You're scales may not be accurate anyway. Is there a weigh in this week at Slimming World?

Kate, good luck with the fast today. Feeling hungary here, so macaroni cheese is making my mouth water.

As said feeling peckish here, so might have a second black coffee in the hope it keeps me going. DH made a pile of sandwiches forgetting no school this week which are sat in the fridge. Depending on who is around, they might not get eaten so think I'll end up eating some. Not working this week, so will have days when I'm less active. Might go to town today with DC, but if not a bike ride while the weather is good (rain forecast here from Wed).
