Anyone want to loose 7lbs with me?

ifonly4 · 16/10/2015 10:28

Just wondering, if anyone wants to join me and loose 7lbs (give or take a few pounds depending on circumstances). Have put that on in the summer, cut back on alcohol and snacking in the evening since but hasn't helped, so need some inspiration without starving myself to death and treats going totally out of the window!

I'm not overweight, but jeans feel a bit tight and extra flab is hanging out so just want to get it back to "normal".

Can I join you? I'm a but late to the party but I joined a different thread last week and I seem to be the only person on it :( weighed in at 9st 8 last week and now weigh 9St 5.5 so ideally id love to shift that 5.5 in the next 4 weeks before my Christmas party. Every pound adds up on small height.

Well done to all the losers.

Happygirl my scales are a bit like that too so I just take the first reading. It wouldnt be as much as 3lbs tho.

AWONI · 13/11/2015 10:27

Hi two welcome! What are you doing to lose weight? It sounds like you're doing well with it whatever it is! I'm little too, so even a few extra pounds looks like a lot!

twobambinos · 13/11/2015 11:08

Thanks awoni I'm drinking 2 l of water a day having tea where I usually would eat junk during the day and just trying to be more mindful of the amount of rubbish I eat really

wannanewone · 13/11/2015 12:04

Can another little one join too?
I would like to lose about 6 lbs. All from my tummy. Have been trying on and off since summer, so frustrating! But my winter clothes either don't fit, or are too tight and look crap. How soon before you saw results? I have been eating less, but not lost weight, then given up for few days, tried again....bad cycle.
My pre- menopause hormones are also to blame, I think.

HappyGirlNow · 13/11/2015 13:08

Thanks ifonly and two - I feel like I've lost more weight so hopefully the problem's with the scales.. But if not you're right, it's still weight off.. Grin

twobambinos · 13/11/2015 14:40

Welcome wanna Personally I find that eating less and a bit better within a few days a bit of bloat goes and clothes start to look and fit a bit better. But I may be kidding myself.
Have all the floors hoovered and mopped now so have worked up a bit of a sweat and gonna do some exercise bike now to take my mind off the twirl bars in the press calling my name!

KateSpadeAddict · 13/11/2015 21:23

My scales are crap too! I’m just happy to see them consistently moving downwards! Not entirely sure what I actually weigh though...!

Sounds like a strange question but here it goes...I feel like i’ve lost weight from my ‘love handle’ area but i’d really like it to shift from my tummy which isn’t really big just not as flat as it has been Sad does anyone know if anything in particular makes people gain weight there specifically? Or what I can do loose weight from there specifically? Grin

AWONI · 14/11/2015 17:33

Kate I'm the opposite. I can suck my tummy in but I'd love to get rid of my love handles!! Grin

AWONI · 15/11/2015 07:32

I've lost 3 and a half pounds!! Shock Grin

KateSpadeAddict · 15/11/2015 11:34

Haha i can suck it in too but can start to make me feel uncomfortable!

Well done AWONI that’s a super result!

My plan for today is to be hungover for a little bit more and then head to somewhere that I can weight myself properly Wink

twobambinos · 15/11/2015 11:47

Well done awoni that's a brilliant loss keep up the good work

KateSpadeAddict · 15/11/2015 16:32

Oh dear I of course mean weigh myself not weight myself Blush

ifonly4 · 15/11/2015 19:45

Welcome two and wanna - the more the merrier.

Awoni, I bet you were so pleased with your loss - well done.

Had a bad day on Friday with doughnuts, pasta leftovers for lunch and eating out at nigh,t and then did my weigh in yesterday. I stayed the same. Funny this week I've felt my jeans are definitely looser though. Anyway, back on course today!

Kate - just wondering if a few tummy toning exercises might help. It's my bum and tummy that bother me, so maybe I should do the same!

Hello everyone, lovely to see lots of new people on here!

I've been awol for a couple of weeks due to an audit at work and far too many nights out at weekends Grin, I've still been trying to follow 5:2 but have only lost 1.5lbs in total... Still, it's a start! Great to see some of you reporting much more success though, well done Smile

Kate, ifonly, how's it going for you guys (Kate your 5 Guys comment made me snort!)

AWONI · 15/11/2015 20:34

Thank you! I have celebrated my weight loss by eating all of the crisps in the universe. Back on it tomorrow.

lastqueenofscotland · 15/11/2015 20:59

Is it too late to join? I'd like to lose about ten lbs before my bday in jan :)

KateSpadeAddict · 15/11/2015 21:37

I would ifonly but i’ve such a sore lower back recently which is why i’m putting off the shred until after Christmas as i’m hoping that it’ll feel better by then. I have done the Shred before with good results. My body shape really changed but I didn’t change weight. My plan for January is shred, fast, shred, fast, shred Monday-Friday then do the shred once more over the weekend. Most tummy toning exercises would involve a sit up of some kind wouldn’t they? Which is really sore to do at the moment Sad. Perhaps some plank type exercises could help.

I again have had a dreadful weekend of eating and drinking but I weighed myself elsewhere and still standing strong at 11 stone so not feeling too bad about it. Shred tomorrow and Wednesday planned so aiming for another pound or so off. I think I need to aim to eat a little better on my 5 days.

That’s good thistlebe at least it isn’t going up! I know I re-read my 5 guys post and actually blushed!

Can anyone recommend scales that seem pretty accurate/reliable?

Welcome lastqueen I’m sure ten lbs is manageable although weightloss over the festive period can be tricky. What is your game plan?

Madmog · 16/11/2015 09:48

Last, so it's certainly not to late to join. Even when I reach my goal, I will still need support to keep it off.

Welcome to our other newbies.

Much to my surprise, another pound here.

Kate, could you manage a few tummy crunches or lying on your back with legs at 45degrees and then stretching one out at a time. If not, try holding your tummy in more so you'll be tensing the muscles (might help your back as well).

Congrats to everyone, whether you've lost this week, stayed the same or are just starting out.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 17/11/2015 07:30

Finally, 1 and a half pounds off! Whoo hoo! And I'm finally over chest infection so can start running again.

Polgara2 · 18/11/2015 07:26

Hello can I jump in? I really need to lose 7 lbs, mainly because that's the weight I feel 'happy' at iyswim. Also so that the lovely clothes I bought when I got down to that last year aren't too tight of course. Unfortunately my willpower is hiding at the moment which isn't helping! Sweet things are my main downfall but also the fact that I'm simply not used to having to watch what I eat. I've spent most of my life merrily eating what I want with little consequence but an early menopause has killed me tbh Sad.
I try and get to the gym 3 or 4 times a week (well I am getting back to that having let it lapse for the past 4 months) but I need to sort out my diet really.

AWONI · 18/11/2015 12:57

Yay!! Well done EE
Welcome polgara. What's your plan? I'm doing mfp trying to keep under 1200 calories per day, with limited success in the counting department but I lost weight last week which I found cheering Smile

Madmog · 18/11/2015 14:41

Slowly getting there, another 1lb off here on last weigh in. Still want to loose a couple more pounds, but then will have to keep on top of what I'm doing to keep them off! Have let my toning exercises slip, so need to get back into that today!!

Well done, EE. Glad you're feeling better as well, I've had a chest infection and pneumonia before and they do take a while to get over.

Thistle, it's still positive if you're trying inbetween meals out and different situations which thrown us all out, and you've lost weight which is great.

Kate, staying the same is positive so do stick at it.

Well done, If Only.

How are you getting on Last?

Polgara, you can do it. I've lost 5lbs so far and it's making a difference - some of my clothes were uncomfortable and 5lbs has made all the difference.

twobambinos · 18/11/2015 18:15

I fell off the wagon a bit after my good start. Today was a total disaster ha ha. Ill weigh in on Friday morning and update. How is everyone getting on?

wannanewone · 18/11/2015 19:52

Well done to everyone who has lost weight. It`s so encouraging to read.

After posting here, I seem to have forgotten I wanted to lose some weight. Did I really need two sticky toffee puddings on Saturday? No. But back on again since the beginning of the week, though just ate a caramel waffle. I must just stop buying tempting food.

I cant do fast diets, I feel too sick. So this week I have just been trying to cut down on things like biscuit with tea at work, and snacking while I prepare dinner. Lets see...

Kate: could you do a a 10 minute standing abs workout? I did it a few months back and noticed the difference, must get back to it.

I think I need to do more exercise but can`t seem to fit it in due to children and work. When do you exercise?

thistlebefab · 18/11/2015 21:32

Well done EE!

Wanna, I also seem to have forgotten that I want to lose weight... Could actually feel that my trousers were looser on Monday, which should have spurred me on to even greater success... But haven't done a single fast day this week and have been raiding the cupboards and fridge.

I blame the weather.
