Haha Dry I was going to suggest you needed a spreadsheet for the Visa bill! Maybe I need to start a side business specialising in helping shopaholics busy clothes shoppers with their finances. Wink Hope the Wine helped anyway.

I think I went through a brief phase of lusting after Louboutins before I heard how uncomfy and narrow they were, and now I've just written them off really just as well, not like I can really afford or justify them, and means more money for handbags

Stokey · 09/04/2014 10:08

Lovely top & dresses Decam, my eldest dd would love the pink daisy one when its warmer (and has rescently got obsessed about wearing the same clothes as her younger sister).

At the moment she really wants to wear her summer dresses all the time although it is still cold. We argue every night about whether she can wear no sleeves or short sleeves. Am compromising by allowing summer dress with a long-sleeved t-shirt and tights. One good thing about starting school in September, no more negotiations about what to wear!

Have decided am swapping the hobo for big shopper today. Woke up and knew that was the right decision - and save myself £30 Grin

Stokey · 09/04/2014 10:10

Just out of interest on the posh shoes front, are there any designers that you think are particularly comfy?

Have always heard good things about Manolos but they still look quite painful.

Decameron · 09/04/2014 10:15

DD2 is the same, Stokey, she's almost 3. I'm glad she will have to wear a uniform in September!

My friend swears by Jimmy Choo but I haven't tried them.

Sleepwhenidie · 09/04/2014 10:17

Stokey my DD and I are having exactly the same argument every day at the moment Grin. I've agreed she can wear a dress to DIL's for dinner so of course she wants to put it on now, for a day mostly in the garden Hmm. Those Boden dresses are gorgeous Decam

santamarianovella · 09/04/2014 10:18

stokey my dd is the same, and cries if I ask her to put on a cardigan.

Regarding shoes,I rate zanotti,Sergio Rossi,I have a YSL tribute, that are, Super comfy, and Valentino rockstuds are really comfortable, inspite of looking like a torture device but you will never find a pair that won't hurt after walking long distance ,

AmberNectarine · 09/04/2014 10:22

My Gucci shoes are the most comfortable designer pair I own. I have a few Jimmy Choos but all flat so I can't comment on those!

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 10:22

Santa that's fantastic! Great find. I love good books, and also buying off-piste fashion mags from a little bookshop.

Stokey I really like the Isabel Marant heels I have, very comfortable. I haven't tried Choo or Manolo. They are better than the Kors ones which are quite high.

libertychick · 09/04/2014 10:26

Decam I can't believe you are selling the Disco already!! What a shame it's not right for you. I agree you can never have enough grey tops and that one looks very useful. The dress for your DD's is gorgeous. My DD wants to wear summer dresses all the time too. Like you Stokey we are letting her wear them with long sleeve tops and jeans or leggings underneath - some interesting combinations!

So working on the list from yesterday I have ordered Breton, summer trousers and sandals cue more eye rolling by DH

Loubs etc have never appealed to me. I can't wear heels so while I admire them on others I have no desire to own them.

LinusDKD · 09/04/2014 10:39

My Loubs are not stripper-esque I hope but I only wear them a couple if times a year. Definitely taxi shoes!

My wedding shoes and the shoes I wore to Dsis's wedding are Choos and are reasonably comfortable for heels. But I hardly ever wear them as they are strappy sandals and looks very dressy. Blush

Does anyone know what Gianvito Rossi sizing is like? I am seriously tempted by the black suede ones I linked last week but would have to order online (or fly to Milan or London)

I wore my white Baxters this weekend with my navy Equipment shirt and I missed some kickass heels to completely resemble Emmanuelle Alt deluded

decam the disco is already going? I have to say I have been tempted to get one myself.

Decameron · 09/04/2014 10:47

Might as well sell it while it is new and I can get most of my money back. Also don't like the big G logo on it. I was taken in by the tassel! Someone has already bid the minimum I'll accept so that's a good start. The navy is sold out online. I should have learnt that really small bags are not me, I sent the small AH satchel bag last year.

I have Balenciaga shoes I bought years ago which are comfortable, forgot about them.

Nice shopping, Liberty!

LinusDKD · 09/04/2014 10:57

See, I like small bags. I love my Trio and my Nano, especially as they can be worn crossbody.

I do love big bags as well though Wink

Decameron · 09/04/2014 11:20

The chain strap AH Gracie is the smallest size I like. Now I have it again have no need for another smallish bag. Must remember this!

maradesbois · 09/04/2014 11:21

Morning,

amber re louboutin I think vb's royal wedding shoes sum up his direction v well too! Loved the rest of her outfit though.

There's something wrong with a high end shoe brand if their products are causing that much pain. I remember reading an interview with blahnik who was v dismissive of loub's technical skill but guess loub has had more commercial success. I love my jimmy choos, black pointy patent about 8.5 cm heel and fine to walk around in on an evening out. Think that the issue with lots of shoes today is heel height, over 10cm is impossible for me from any brand. Rupert Sanderson is good too, I have a few pairs from Bicester.

I

maradesbois · 09/04/2014 11:25

I'd recommend the Sanderson Bicester store stokey if its somewhere you can get to without too much faff, they usually have plenty of choice re colour/style including classic, it's not just the crazy ones that haven't sold like some outlet stores.

Sleepwhenidie · 09/04/2014 11:29

Mara I think ML was having a bit of a swipe at Louboutin when he was on the Liberty programme...said something along the lines of "all zees platforms...so ergly" Grin

Stokey · 09/04/2014 11:40

Thanks for the recommendations Mara , agree about height. Hopefully the fashion is coming down a bit.

Not sure if I'll ever make it to Bicester, only really get to go shopping when I'm at work as the kids are a bit too little still. My Mum is over this summer though, so may be able to take a day off and go with her.

Just made my first ever eBay sale, a pair of blue suede pumps that I forgot to take back from last summer. Someone bought for the same price as I had bought them so am rather chuffed.

OneLittleLady · 09/04/2014 11:41

sleep my interview is on Monday afternoon. I think I've decided on a dress (so long as it fits) just need to decided between black heels or burgundy wedges for a bit of colour.

Also sleep if you hadn't seen my post, I've gone done to 14 stone 4lbs now so I've officially lost over two stone now Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 09/04/2014 12:23

That's brilliant One, fantastic progress Smile. Good luck for the interview!

QueenCadbury · 09/04/2014 13:05

Shame about the disco dec but as you say better to sell it and get something you really love. Maybe dry needs a navy disco? Wink

Do all of you wear heels to go out? I hardly ever wear heels anymore. I always feel a bit overdressed in them and we walk most places we go out so not at all practical. I wore them a lot more pre-dc when living in London but there's no such thing as overdressed there. Bristol is pretty casual/laid back really.

Not showered yet but have been doing housework all morning. We're off out for a family tea later so will obv make myself respectable. Dh is back to work tomorrow so I am on my own until next Thursday when dgp arrive and take over the childcare for the Easter weekend Grin. Lots of Wine may be needed in the next week!

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 13:13

I wear the Marant ones that are ok to walk in. But the other time I went out I wore shoe boots. And I'm not keen on heels in meetings anymore, I just feel too overdressed.

I need to update make up - foundation etc. Not sure I want to continue with Chanel. Any recommendations welcome. Bobbi Brown maybe? Also anywhere that has some kind of freebie thing, always great.

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 13:14

Plus I get taxis in heels usually, so not too bad.

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 13:14

when in heels that is of course.

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 13:17

Great shopping Liberty

Well done Stokey!

Decam you should recoup most I imagine.

I love small bags, I find the trio perfect. Also I get bag / dc annoyance if it's too big. I could go big again when I'm not lugging too many things around.

libertychick · 09/04/2014 13:18

I have a single pair of black suede M&S wedges and they are the only 'heels' I own QueenC. I got rid of every other pair during my house declutter over the last few weeks. I never mastered the art of walking in heels and can't be bothered now. While I think they look great on some people, I seem to see more people who 'totter' on them and only look good when they are standing still.

If I was to get all feminist about it sod it, why not I often look at people and think they may as well have their feet bound! I like to be able to run if necessary and sore feet are a PITA. But I have friends who would just feel miserable on a night out in flats as they would feel completely under dressed and that makes them more unhappy than sore feet.
