shopafrolic · 27/04/2014 22:13

Marsha PM in a mo

Fedupnagging · 27/04/2014 22:15

Shop sorry you are still unwell. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Sleep, fantastic! Well done.

It sounds like you have had a fab weekend Dry.

Queen, i was a SAHM for 12yrs and definitely had times where I was bored, fed up, exhausted etc (3ds's). I was on loads of committees which is not everyone's cup of tea but kept me busy/interested besides herding 3 kids from A to B. I remember going to a girls dinner where the talk was exclusively who had what/done what/getting what and feeling utterly bored of it all. I now work part time in a school which is the best of both worlds. Don't get too despondent as you will find something comes along.

Topaz that is exactly what my dsis has done although her kids are younger than yours. Last job she expected to be doing but is loving it.

Nice Michael Kors dress Novice. The dress code for the MU is looking pretty high. Gulp!

Sleepwhenidie · 27/04/2014 22:17

Thanks for the congrats Smile.

Shop Sad, QueenC is right, probiotics would be a good idea, make sure you get live ones. Also kombucha tea, miso soup (make from paste) - all available online from Whole Foods if you're struggling with Ocado Smile also food with ginger and garlic (preferably raw garlic). Hope you feel better soon.

shopafrolic · 27/04/2014 22:23

PM Sleep

Drywhiteplease · 27/04/2014 22:36

Ooooh raw garlic Shop luck DH!

Can someone tell me how to pronounce Quinoa?is it "keenwaaa"?

OP posts:
Sleepwhenidie · 27/04/2014 22:48

It is Dry...but I still feel like a bit if a nob saying it that way Grin!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 27/04/2014 22:51

It is 'keen-wa' Dry. Unless you are my MIL, who refuses to pronounce bloody anything correctly and insists it's called 'Quinn-oh-ah'.

Computer's dead, so I'm on rapidly expiring phone & will come back tomorrow for a proper catch up.

Night all - sleep tight.

libertychick · 27/04/2014 23:01

I happily trotted into health food shops calling it quin-oh-ah for ages Grin. They all knew what I meant.

Shop yikes at that amount of weight loss. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Fedup I am thinking my Allium B or American Vintage dress for the MU and definitely no heels - I'm not safe on them with a drink in me! Don't stress about it - at each of the ones I have been at there has been a huge variety of styles, labels etc - at the first MU I wore white M&S slim chino's with a coral blouse from one of the TK Maxx 'labels' and Gap flip flops - total outfit cost was under £50. Dressed it up with a statement necklace.

MarshaBrady · 28/04/2014 07:27

Ha Liberty I don't think I've actually heard it said out loud nor actually said it. I see it written loads, all here.

Thanks for pm Shop looks good, will check it out.

MarshaBrady · 28/04/2014 07:28

Fedup Yes for MU a range is good, I just did skinnies, shoe boots and jumper for one of them.

Turquoiseblue · 28/04/2014 07:58

Queen, hope you re feeling better today.
I work PT. I m lucky in that my job allows it but it s fairly manic. I end up doing most of the household organisational and logistical stuff at home, plus the kids after school, camps, play dates, etx then when in work I end up bringing working to prove to everyone I m as good as the full timers- and I feel like growling when people pat me on the head and tell me about how lucky I am to be part time sometimes Smile but mostly I works. When dd goes to school I ll increase my hours again next year. I have to say though I do love my job and the head space it affords me to be me. My sector is not a million miles from yours. You should brain storm all the areas linked to your job and qualifications - you might be surprised at the options and roles that you might only need little upskilling to get into. Sounds like you have a huge amount of transferable skills. There s a teaching uni where you are isn't there if I remember correctly ? Maybe there s even lecturing options if you made some enquiries or let people know you might be interested? HOC rep sounds really interesting, and I reckon you would be great at it too. Sorry rushing off to school run. Will be back with shoe links later

QueenCadbury · 28/04/2014 10:42

Morning. Thanks again everyone for listening to my moan. Part of the problem is I'm knackered as having v weird dreams and night sweats (presumably hormonal imbalance?) and dd is going through a phase of waking a few times. I'm also getting headaches during the day too much time on my iPad without my glasses so I'm going to book an opticians appt just to check my eyes.

fedup unless it is extremely hot I shall be wearing jeans. Don't stress at all. Depending where we go I may put some heels in my bag to change into but otherwise I will be in flats.

My jones shoes have arrived so will report back when I try them.

BrandyAlexander · 28/04/2014 11:01

Morning all! Am currently at doctors surgery as have had a stinker of a headache for about 5 days now, I was getting the shivers yesterday and throat feels raw today.Confused I should have been flying today (quick trip) but decided I was too scared of being ill abroad. Dh thinks I am a wuss for not sucking it up and getting on the plane (he hasn't said it but I know that's what he's thinking!!)Hmm

Fedup, sorry if I spooked you! MU definitely not a high end glam fest!Grin First one I wore this top jeans and a warehouse shimmering gold cardi (was £15 and one of my favourite buys from last year). I think I wore this dress when we had a sunny MU. I can't remember what I wore to the last one but top and jeans would seem about right. Marsha wore a neon top and jeans to one which was simple and lovely. I think Shop wore new balance trainers to last one which I loved. Lib has worn a couple of really lovely blouses (last one had a pretty collar I think) and jeans. Sleep is always so casual yet rock chic. Hope that sounds more "normal"!

If you hear me wearing about bling....I wear bling everywhere. Seriously, am sat at docs wearing about 4 carats between my studs, engagement ring and boodles raindance. Err I appreciate that's slightly weird! Blush

Shop my love do you need to go to docs again? Thanks

Sleepwhenidie · 28/04/2014 11:30

QueenC I think you should go for the HOC idea, you'd be great at it and could fit it in with family life too - why not?

Novice - its too much stress - hope you feel better soon

OneLittleLady · 28/04/2014 11:45

I am thoroughly exhausted after the weekend. Having a quiet day pottering around doing housework. Very stylish today in black slim fit bootcut jeans and a mint green my little pony t-shirt Grin

Going to help my brother do some clothes shopping tomorrow and fingers crossed that we might have found him a job after nearly two long years of unemployment despite his best efforts to find a job. I've get everything crossed that he gets it this time, he's been so low and frustrated being out of work for so long Sad

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/04/2014 12:23

I know the feeling One, why am I more tired after the weekend than before?! Love the t-shirt! :)

novice I hope the doc helped and you feel better soon. I will definitely be admiring the bling!

Hobbs has 20% off at the mo with code SUMMER. Had a quick look but everything I liked was sold out in my size, bah.

BrandyAlexander · 28/04/2014 16:21

I want to see the my little pony teeGrin so glad you had a great weekend One.

So, the doc said that he couldn't explain the blinding headaches but my throat was sore and I might have the beginnings of laryngitis but he wasn't certain. He asked all sorts of questions about sleep and stress. Buuut I said I have a stressful life so didn't think I was any more stressed today than I was a week, a month or 6 months ago. Having said that this house purchase and then redecoration has been more than I bargained for.

Doc told me to go and rest up and I promptly went round to see dsis for a few hours. I am now exhausted but sooo glad I went to see her as she was glad of the company on a weekday.Smile

OneLittleLady · 28/04/2014 16:25

novice the tee is pinned on my pinboards, think it's on my 'my style' board Grin

Fedupnagging · 28/04/2014 16:50

Thanks for the reassurance re the meetup. Think I'm overthinking it! Will probably do same as you queen and take heels to change into. Liberty you sound blingtastic!

No style news from me - am spending loads but on house stuff so feel need to lay off on the clothes front atm. might just sneak a peek at Hobbs tho

Fedupnagging · 28/04/2014 17:14

Novice I think stress can eventually catch up with you and your body is telling you to slow down.

About 5 yrs ago I had shingles (& a month sick leave) and GP decided my body was just worn out. Sounds silly I know but looking back, my life was insanely busy and had been for years and I probably was stressed although was so used to the pace of life, didn't realise it.

Of course, this could all be claptrap but hope you start to feel better soon.

Sleepwhenidie · 28/04/2014 18:18

Definitely not claptrap fedup...if you don't listen to the small signals your body gives you about how you are living it just shouts louder until it gets your attention Smile. Stress (which means cortisol) can be addictive, we get high on it and don't realise how damaging it is.

Drywhiteplease · 28/04/2014 18:33

Over Here ladies Smile
