This is my third attempt to write this post. I keep losing them - Gah.

Marsha ATM I use YSL BB cream as a base and then Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette (bronzer, blush and highlighter). I think Sleep changed her foundation recently and was really happy with her new one. I can't remember the brand though.

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 13:28

I don't wear heels to meetings because I'm not feeling uncomfortable for work. About to go to one now in black suede wedges.

I do wear heels to go out in, only with dresses and sometimes shoe boots. But the champagne helps!

Thanks Liberty you're a star Flowers

santamarianovella · 09/04/2014 13:32

I like nars tinted moisturiser for day, very light sheer coverage, and gives a dewy glow, I think it was novice who recommended it,very happy with it.

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 13:35

Excellent thanks Santa I find Chanel too heavy atm

LinusDKD · 09/04/2014 13:41

I rarely wear foundation but do wear tinted mosituriser.

I really like the Nars one santa mentioned and have just bought a La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC cream that I love.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is also very nice if you need some lightweight coverage.

But it all depends on you skintype and what kind of finish you're after.

santamarianovella · 09/04/2014 14:07

Its amazing linus,I highly recommend it,

I have a question to those of you with trio, does it come in two sizes? I swear this looks bigger, than what I normally see,or is it the why its photographed? Hmm

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/04/2014 14:12

I tried the YSL BB cream and found it didn't work for me (too dry, not enough coverage - not to mention the samples I was given that matched my hand Hmm didn't match my face that well).
I wear the Estee Lauder daywear BB cream and really like it, it is quite thick though and I mix it with a plain moisturiser for day time. I have never worn foundation Blush

Off topic slightly, I'm pleased I just managed to buy the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and Quinoderm benzoyl peroxide cream as recommended on here - can never usually find the LRP as it's sold out everywhere. I'm on antibiotics for acne at the moment :( luckily it's mostly under my jaw now and not on my face.

Heel habits... I drive to work in ugly trainers and change in the office. Unless the heels are chunky I don't wear them outside at lunchtime either. For going out I definitely prefer heels but they need a bit of chunkiness and to be under 3". These are my go to "comfy" heels.

Finally I am a large bag girl and only do small ones on nights out!

libertychick · 09/04/2014 14:21

Your comfy heels look good Blair. Sorry to hear about the acne, my DH gets it and it really gets him down sometimes.

I change base/foundation all the time! There are so many nice ones to try and they seem to improve all the time so I quite like when I run out and get to go around trying new ones.

I've just watched the Daily Connoisseur Spring 10 item wardrobe. I always feel like scoffing as it's not 10 items but actually it is a pretty streamlined wardrobe and well co-ordinated. Santa the APC chambray dress you liked is one of her core pieces. She also has gigis!

maradesbois · 09/04/2014 14:49

marsha I hate the feel of heavy foundation and use the bobbi brown airbrush powder one (don't know if that's the right name but its in a round pot with holes so you shake to get what you need and apply with fat brush). That combined with their under eye shadow corrector and concealer/powder for setting duo is the only base I use and really happy with it. Bobbi b great at product demonstrations as well so you could always try and see what you think.

Stokey · 09/04/2014 15:20

Mara I was going to recommend the Bobbi Brown under eye stuff too. I just use that and L'oreal BB cream (which was cheap as chips) but maybe a bit dark for you Marsha.
I also have the Bobbi Brown foundation stick which I wear when I feel like I need a bit of extra coverage but it's not too heavy. I'm freckly and don't like anything that looks like I'm trying to hide my freckles. Definitely go and see them as there are so many shades, you need help matching.

LinusDKD · 09/04/2014 15:26

santa the Trio comes in two sizes (or it used to anyway) and my burgundy one is the bigger size.

QueenCadbury · 09/04/2014 16:05

marsha I really like bobbi bown and I've always found them really helpful on their counters. I don't wrar a lot of makeup as I've never found anything that doesn't look like I'm wearing it (I've tried tinted moisturisers and bb creams) so I just wear bobbi brown powder and blusher. Mascara wise I don't think you can beat max factor.

Drywhiteplease · 09/04/2014 16:28

Dec Disco on EBAY Shock tempted
QueenC "do you all wear heels to go out?" Grin is the Pope catholic? I ADORE heels almost as much as I adore a dress. Never knowingly underdressed, that's moi Wink . Btw those hideous knee high sandal heels would be rubbish stripper shoes, take too long to get off !!!
Blair have got the message about Loubs, I have wide feet, I think they'd cripple me.

VB royal wedding shoes were horrible, cheap looking. Almost as disgusting as those heel less trotter looking shoes she wore with plastic leggings on one of her more "directional" does annoying inverted comma thing in air moments.

I remember DD going through the party dress phase. It was lovely. She had the almighty tantrum from hell when I tried to put her in some brown cords mind you so would I if someone did that to me then she went all grungy, jean, skater boy looking, now back to dresses and skater skirts.....the cycle goes on.

Decameron · 09/04/2014 16:45

Those boots are hideous, Dry! I wear heels occasionally at night, not as much as when I worked but I am tall anyway and there are some great flat shoes around.

Marsha, I use This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle or Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion (both very light).

libertychick · 09/04/2014 16:46

Grin at Dry noticing that the knee highs would take too long to get off!!

Those latex boots are just weird...

No way can you ebay the Disco - we are all emotionally invested in that bag!

Stokey · 09/04/2014 16:57

Lol Dry I thought the same thing about the "stripper" boots

I quite often wear a square heel or wedge to go out, rarely a spike heel.

But always have flats in my bag for the tube home or force dh to get taxi

Drywhiteplease · 09/04/2014 17:04

I'm short and heels make me feel more glam flats to work and more dressed up. I'd feel odd going out in flats, unless on holiday.
Liberty I will never Ebay my Disco, it's like my fourth child Grin Nancy being the third

SecretSquirrel13 · 09/04/2014 17:34

I love heels and live wearing them when dressed up and going out. Daytime I live in flats and converse type shoes.

Fedupnagging · 09/04/2014 19:17

Love heels but don't so much walk as waddle in them so tend to wear them when in the car/taxi. Am loving the kitten heels that are around as they are a great compromise. I love the Dune ones I have and wear them a lot atm.

Btw Dry, do strippers actually remove their shoes? Not sure they do in which case it doesn't matter how hideous complicated they are. Grin.

Marsha, I use the YSL touché éclat foundation- it is like a tinted moisturiser and is not at all heavy. Good value for money too as a little really does go a long way.

I love the Trio bag Linus. Decided it is perfect for summer until I saw its £££. Oh well, I will now look for something similar but more bank account friendly.

Have just done a quick Boden order as had a voucher plus discount
here

Was very sad to bin a pink silk mix cardi from Hobbs yesterday. I had a rip along a seam which looked a lot worse by the time I had 'mended it'.

Fedupnagging · 09/04/2014 19:18

Apologies for sending my entire boden shopping basket but keep losing links.

Drywhiteplease · 09/04/2014 19:21

Good point Fedup

Thanks liberty. I think my skin is getting better, this is the 2nd flare up of cystic acne I've had in my life, it's usually ok. Cross fingers my multitude of products helps!

fedup not sure what budget you were thinking of but Michael Kors do a Trio rip off - I've only seen it in tan, black and navy though. I'm hoping to pick one up in the States as it's only $198 there (£195 over here). There was also a black one in H&M recently, but obv not leather.

Your boden link doesn't work btw, sorry! Would like to see, if you can make the links work.

My Stella skirt arrived and it's honestly the most beautiful thing I've ever owned. The fabric is just gorgeous, it's very neon in RL. And it is the right size - yay! So happy with it.

LinusDKD · 09/04/2014 19:56

orange flats for marsha

libertychick · 09/04/2014 20:09

So good to hear the skirt is perfect Blair. I do a little internal cheer when people get the right thing and they are happy with it Smile

Fedup you link is going to an empty shopping basket!
