Grin any time

AmberNectarine · 08/04/2014 16:41

I have one and wear it to work Liberty.

Topazandpearl · 08/04/2014 18:23

Thanks Amber. If I love it as much as I hope to, I will forgive it being viscose. If not, it goes back. Have shown DH the picture, he likes it (but hasn't seen the price yet!) I have already told him that I'll hire rather than buy a hat.

maradesbois · 08/04/2014 18:45

marsha nice one for getting the job. Your work/life balance sounds great.

one well done for the interview. They won't be looking at what your wearing unless its distracting so keep it simple and comfortable.

liberty I know that 'another package has arrived for you' face only too well. He'd never dream of passing comment but the trying not to judge look winds me up no end! Dh's idea of a bargain is fantastic Italian tailoring for £20 on the clearance rails of tk maxx so he's just not getting that my outnet habit is saving the household a fortune too!

Interesting comments about painful Louboutins, never been tempted by them, don't like platforms and hate the bling and cult status they seem to encourage. Paris has the most deliberately tiny store on rue du faubourg to encourage queues along the pavement.

maradesbois · 08/04/2014 18:50

Btw liberty that Issa dress is lovely

libertychick · 08/04/2014 21:04

It is lovely. But I am not getting it! I did think about it for work in the summer Amber. Really looking forward to hearing your feedback on it Topaz.

When we have an MU Mara we should invite our DH's and they can have a little moan together about internet shopping.

My voice is completely gone - a pathetic little squeak is all I have ATM Smile

QueenCadbury · 08/04/2014 21:06

Good restraint liberrty

blair when I saw that you said DP dress, my first thought was 'she's wearing her darling partners dress??' Grin

stokey my arse doesn't need any more attention bought to it so I'll pass on the tiger bikini thanks Grin

Fab news marsha and one

On our way back from our day out we popped into the local mall for me to return the stuff to next from last weeks order. Whilst browsing in windows I seemed to see so much nice stuff. Not sure if it really would be if you got up close but I have an urge to shop. I need a few more spring tops with sleeves (short/ elbow/3/4) as most of mine are sleeveless and even with a cardi it's a bit chilly.

QueenCadbury · 08/04/2014 21:10

this was one of the tops I saw in the window today. Some of the stuff I glanced at in next doesn't appear to be online yet so I'm guessing that it should be soon. amber didn't you say that next are due their summer stuff online soon?

QueenCadbury · 08/04/2014 21:15

this outfit was in the window of oasis. Totally not for a 40 year old but just looked so summery and pretty.

libertychick · 08/04/2014 21:41

That top would be lovely with boyfriend jeans. I agree the matching top and shorts are for someone who looks a lot younger than me!

On Saturday I posted returns to Hobbs and Atterley Road. Today I have an email from Hobbs confirming receipt of the items and that the refund has been processed. So well done Hobbs and come on AR - up your game!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/04/2014 22:18

Lol QueenC Grin next time I'll say Dotty P dress to avoid confusion... and just to clear it up my DP does not wear dresses! Wink

Lovely RI and Oasis tops. I can't wait to be able to wear more summery things!

Hope you feel better soon liberty, losing your voice is especially rubbish.

Sleepwhenidie · 08/04/2014 23:14

Well done on interview One Smile-when is it?

Grin at Liberty's dress anguish/internal tussle keeping out of it

I used to love Louboutins and have a v comfy pair of classic almond toe 110mm heel pumps, but then they went very WAG and most of them (with a few notable exceptions) look like stripper shoes Sad. There are so many amazing relative newcomers shoe wise that I drool over though.

Drywhiteplease · 08/04/2014 23:20

Ok no Loubs .
Need too sort out my complicated visa bill....any accountants out there? ahem, I had wine tonight with mine and she was very helpful talking me through balancing my spends and returns, old hand I suspectWink

Drywhiteplease · 08/04/2014 23:23

of stripper shoes surely? but look painful

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 09/04/2014 06:29

I've got these which I don't think are too stripperish, just agony to wear!

Yes QueenC should be online in next few weeks.

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 06:59

Mine didn't have a platform. They were very nice, I just couldn't wear them.

Topaz always great to try something if you love it.

Thanks Mara, took a while to get there but I'm not great in an office so it's good for me to work from home. I can do other stuff too.

Queen pretty tops.

QueenCadbury · 09/04/2014 07:22

Surely these are stripper shoes

QueenCadbury · 09/04/2014 07:24

I would love this, but £160 for a book Shock? Most of the images at probably on pin in my fantasy wardrobe

Sleepwhenidie · 09/04/2014 07:25

Yes I definitely mean it's the platform ones that look stripperish but platforms and diamanté seemed to feature on 80% of the collection last time I looked round the Selfridges concession (in Jan ). I loved the exhibition at the v&a, beautiful, amazing shoes, made over a decade or more, I think maybe he got carried away with the platform thing but if that's the market ....Confused.

MarshaBrady · 09/04/2014 07:30

Yes I think so, is he designing still? The reins may have been by some one who knows what sells.

Queen gorgeous book. I bought a beautiful Craig McDean book of Moss/ Valetta and another it was £60 and I felt pretty extravagant at that.

AmberNectarine · 09/04/2014 09:34

I blame Victoria Beckham. Those shoes at the Royal Wedding! I particularly felt that as our babies were born within days of each other and I was 30wks at the time - no way would I have tottered around in those

Decameron · 09/04/2014 09:53

Beautiful book, QueenC.

Lovely dress, Topaz.

Luckily for me DH is rarely here when packages arrive. Or if he is, I say they are for the neighbours. :)

Good luck with the interview, One. I'm sure you don't need to go too formal.

Is anyone going to the Glamour of Italian Fashion exhibition at the V&A? Dh is off next week so I am going to leave the kids with him and go.

Beautiful shoes, Amber, annoying they are so painful. I have never tried Louboutins, I like Prada for going out high heels, or Russell & Bromley as they are always comfortable and I am a granny at heart.

Glad you are having a good time, Shop.

I haven't tried the hobo style but I am a big Le Pliage shopper fan, Stokey, I'm on my sixth one now. Great for the kids' stuff and travel. Yes, they are ubiquitous, but they are so light and useful and come in great colours. I bought the bilberry colour recently, doesn't show the dirt when I throw it down in the playground.

Have been ebaying rather than shopping (the navy Gucci disco has been listed, used it once and it is too small for me, I should have kept saving for the Burberry bag I really want) but [[http://www.meandem.com/collection/v-neck-oversized-t-grey-marl/white/products_id/1812/cPath/1153_1154_1203]] just arrived and I like it. You can't have too many grey tops, I feel!

Decameron · 09/04/2014 09:53

Me & Em top

Decameron · 09/04/2014 09:58

Oh for anyone with little girls, these dresses just arrived for my DDs and they are thrilled!

santamarianovella · 09/04/2014 10:00

The platforms make them more comfortable, thats why they are his most popular design, I have the very prive,my issue is that it is open toe and all my toes just stick out and the leather really digs into the skin, other than that they are somewhat very understated for Loubs,I still like the pigalle flats, but guessing by the looks ,not comfortable, dry sleep is right, lots of other shoes designers out there,i see you in somthing like manolo, or sergio

Yes amber I remember those,I was pregnant too,and couldn't believe anyone would wear those platforms while being 7 months pregnant and standing in line for hours must have been painful,

I'm getting rid of them along with a few other pairs of shoes ive not worn in a while, must start funding the Rossi project.

marsha I recently bought two fashion books by chanel, and one by balenciaga all from a used book store, ,I was astonished to learn that the balenciaga book is sold on amazon market at £200 used! and £500 for new, Its a very limited edition copy, and I bought mine for €30,im really feeling bad for the bookstore owner, she must have been unaware of the true value of the book. It makes a beautiful coffee table book though!
