Ok, obviously name changed for this. I have a massive book on my pubic area. It hasn't got a head, it's just a huge angry looking lump.
It hurts. It is so sore. And I'm fat. So getting to it is not easy. But is doable.

Please lovely sporners...help me!

Boil! It's a boil. Not a book🙈

Ouch! Salt bath might help

bigredboil · 10/02/2024 18:05

Thank you! I'll try that when ds' friend goes home.

Big blob of germoline or something and cover with a plaster, will probably draw it out to a head overnight so you can give it a gentle squeeze. I’m prone to ingrown hairs in that area so some exfoliation might help.

poetrylover · 10/02/2024 18:11

Sudocrem after a hot bath. The only way!

bigredboil · 10/02/2024 18:14

Ok, hot bath with salt, I'm sure I have sudocrem, no germoline in the house, so sudocrem and a plaster on top?

I've suffered these for years, I'm also diabetic! There was one time where one would go only for one to appear! Thankfulky I don't suffer them as much now.
My mate told me to use pile cream, directly on it, cover it over, it both soothes and draws it out. I use Germaloids personally, don't know if I cheaper brand would work just as well. Good luck, I know your pain ❤

My mum used to say magnesium sulphate draws boils out. I don’t know if that’s true but seemed to work. The hot bath sounds very sensible and salt.

gano · 10/02/2024 18:19

I second the magnesium sulphate paste. Good stuff.

Gobimanchurian · 10/02/2024 18:20

You want magnesium paste if it's a boil. It's will draw out.

Depending on which area (lady garden vs undercarriage) it could be a cyst? (Friends has a bartholin's - very painful). In which case you might need a doctor (she needed surgical intervention)

bigredboil · 10/02/2024 18:57

It's lady garden area, thankfully not undercarriage.. thanks so much for all the helpful suggestions, I'm about to try the hot salty bath.

I read about magnesium sulphate somewhere online. Probably on mumsnet! It can take a couple of days if its a big boil but it works and each day gets better.

AlisonDonut · 10/02/2024 19:37

Magnesium sulphate is epsom salts, in case you have any of those in your cupboard.

I always keep some for this purpose.

Crooklodge · 10/02/2024 19:45

I had an absolute cracker of a boil just as we went into lockdown. Right on that corner tendon part all the way down the outer labia, couldn't even wear pants.

Lots of hot baths holding an almost scalding hot facecloth on it and magnesium sulfate on at all other times.

It burst a beauty when I sat down and my jammies trousers caught it. Didn't even get to bask in all the glory after all my effort.

positivesliceofpie · 10/02/2024 20:06

I feel your pain i had a huge boil down there the size of an egg.
I couldnt even wear knickers.
I used really hot water boiling well as hot as i could stand it and cotton wool every few hours to bring it to a head took 2 days.
Then bang it popped felt so good to squeeze all the pus out.

bigredboil · 10/02/2024 20:55

Ok so I've had a bit bath with salt in it. It is bright red and angry looking, but I think a tiny bit less swollen.
I've put sudocrem and a plaster on it.
I'll get some magnesium sulphate tomorrow hopefully.
I really want to see what the hell is in it. Im actually excited for the burst🤣🤣

Lol at the massive book. Am picturing War and Peace propped up on your mons venus for a good reading angle.

bigredboil · 10/02/2024 21:16

@GoodOldEmmaNess 🤣🤣 🤣

In other news, I was wrong. It is not a bit less swollen. It has grown. It's huge. Tried to squeeze it and got absolutely nowhere.
Stuck a needle in it earlier and just made it bleed for a second.
Asked Dh to have a go. He says he will divorce me if I mention it again.🤣🤣

Is it wrong that I'm kind of jealous.

Sounds like it's going to be amazing when it pops!

Keep heat on it and fingers crossed tomorrow it has a head on it!!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 10/02/2024 21:25

You shouldn't stick a needle in it but I definitely would 😀

Rassy · 10/02/2024 21:29

It could be a sebaceous cyst. I have one in that area which flares up occasionally like you have described. You need antibiotic cream or antibiotics.

crazycatladie · 10/02/2024 21:56

Sudocream sorted mine out.

Not wrong at all. I'm imagining a porridgey(new word) delight when it erupts. It's fucking sore though!
