Dd 10 has had a massive verruca under her big toe for over 3 years. GP said it would go of its own accord... it hasn't gone.
A few weeks ago she said it was hurting when she walked so I have decided to wage war on it.
So far we have tried soaking, filing and covering with a plaster, then soaking, filing and covering with duct tape for more than a fortnight but it made no difference.
Next weapon... Bazuka.
After 3 days, it look absolutely hideous....

Day 3 Shock
This is just after a long bath and a file. Just about to put the gel on...

DS had one and after bazuka for 3 days, I peeled and the whole thing came off and left a big crater. It was the most satisfying thing ever. Crater didn’t hurt and went away really quickly.

devuskums · 27/02/2021 12:23

Hi @IggyAce I have posted 3..can you see them now?

OP posts:
IggyAce · 27/02/2021 12:24

Sorry cross posted, that is a beauty. Just keep going it takes ages to get rid.

CamVegOut · 27/02/2021 12:26

Looks like it is working. I found using a dab of apple cider vinegar on cotton wool each night and wrapping it with duct tape (no air in) it starts to get black and after daily filing etc they went after a week or two. There will be a little dent at the bottom of the foot for a while but it will fill in.

devuskums · 27/02/2021 12:30

The see through gel magnifies it in the most disgusting way.

Aw I bet that was/is hurting.
I hope your approach works. They are a bastard!
(Also, please do keep sharing pics!)

NeedCoffeeToSurvive · 27/02/2021 12:38

I was plagued by them as a child, had them constantly from about 6 years old, my mum would soak my feet in a weak bleach and warm water solution for about 30 minutes a day, can't say I'd personally recommend putting your child's feet in bleach but it worked, they'd disappear completely after about 3 days of soaking. Previously we'd tried absolutely everything, the freeze spray treatments, gels, special plasters, none of them worked, they're a pain to get rid of.

Haven't had one in nearly 20 years now thankfully.

MarthaJonesPhone · 27/02/2021 12:44

I do 2 days bazuka 2 days tea tree oil, then continue till gone. I've had a lot of success with DC and this method, although they have been far smaller.

Can you not go to a podiatrist, one that can offer proper freezing method? I had one like that for years and that was the only way I managed to get rid of it!

devuskums · 27/02/2021 14:35

I think that will have to be our next step if the bazuka doesn't eradicate it @MarthaJonesPhone
Something is definitely happening, there seem to be loads more black bits so fingers crossed the bazuka will do the trick!

Looks normal to me. Ds had them for years so much so that we did a weekly foot check with me wearing magnifying glasses to catch the buggers early.

Because they are on the foot they grow into the foot from the pressure of being walked on. So keep going, those brown dots are the roots, I was super cautious with the gel so that it only went on the verruca and not the surrounding skin and yes Ds did have a crater but it wasn't painful.

devuskums · 27/02/2021 22:50

I have been very careful not to get the gel on any normal skin. Tonight dd came down from being asleep to tell me her verucxa is very painful. I have soaked it and pulled off what I can of the gel... I think I should leave it alone for a couple of days and see what happens. Has anyone else had pain?

NuzzleandScratch · 27/02/2021 22:56

My dd had one a few years ago, and we went on holiday, a few days of going in the sea and walking on sand, and one evening it just peeled away, leaving an amazingly satisfying hole, it was brilliant! Not the most practical solution for you though!

FoffeeCoffee · 27/02/2021 23:04

My big one took 8 years to fuck off.

No amount of bazuka, duct tape, filing, ACV, nail varnish or pickles ointment did anything.

In the end 3 months of daily scholl pen killed it.
