Well, I dropped an egg yesterday and it would have been a faff to use a cloth to mop it up with - and then have to clean the cloth as well. So I used kitchen towel instead.

Kitchen roll is great for taking out on picnics, we've been out for walks this weekend and had to clear up a spilled carton of juice and lots of sticky chocolate fingers as the dc have eggs left over from Easter!

This morning. Opened the fridge to discover that the jar of beetroot on the top shelf had been knocked over without anyone noticing. Fridge resembled the shower scene from psycho! Mopped it all up with kitchen roll.

Kitchen towel is used more than anything else bar toilet roll in this house! It's ace as a napkin with pizza, to mop up spills the kids always make, to wash the floor, to clean the side. The right kitchen towel is strong and a bloody life saviour - it's one item I never let run out!

DS wanted to bake today and I let him get on with it....
Needed A LOT of kitchen roll to clean up the mess! Particularly the egg all over the worktop, cupboard fronts and floor.
Apparently, he forgot how to crack eggs so just squeezed them....

It's a life saver for the disgusting stuff, sorry to be graphic, but stuff like dog's diarrhea, kids or dog vomit, that sort of stuff!

I feel panicky if the kitchen roll holder is empty

I have a boy who spills everything he looks at, so, if it's not water, having kitchen roll to hand is invaluable.

What I like it best for, though, is cleaning out greasy pans and butter dishes before washing them, so I don't end up having to clean the fat out of my pipes a few weeks later.

When I suffered from cyclic vomiting syndrome, a wad of kitchen towel in a ziplock bag meant I could still go out once I'd got to the 'once an hour heave' stage

I use kitchen roll for all manner of emergencies....spills from the kids drinks, olive oil spillages, washing machine leaks, in the porch to mop up rain puddles brought in from outside on shoes, for drying children's hands, for mopping up spilt milk...I could go one. It is a lifesaver for parents and I love it!

it was an absolute life saver when my husband brought a surprise puppy home. I've never gone through kitchen roll so quickly!

You can never be without kitchen roll. We use it for everything from napkins to damp dusting my son's drum kit!
On our long weekend at the coast recently I made sure to add it to our packing. Good job too as we used it to clean the cooker hob, mop up spilt yoghurt drink, absorb the oil from the fried breakfast, wipe down the dirty floor after coming in from a wet walk on the beach and catch a spider in the bedroom as my DC watched in hysterics!
Not exactly life and death, but it's often the simple little things that make life easier.

I use kitchen towel to soak up grease from left over sausages before they go in the fridge. You don't get the white fat spoiling your sandwich.

We use kitchen towel for lots, its so handy for disgusting/messy things where you don't want to then wash it off a cloth - spilt eggs, sick, curry etc.

Kitchen roll is marvellous for mopping up a dropped egg, cleaning the toastie maker when the cheese has leaked all over it, wiping oil out of a pan before washing it, wiping up coffee "rings" on the worksurface (I'll train DH eventually), drying the bottom of the fridge when the drainage hole is blocked and it automatically defrosts. I dread to think how much longer I'd spend in the kitchen if it wasn't for kitchen roll.

I use mine to insulate cold bowls - I like to curl up on the sofa to eat breakfast on the weekends and it makes holding a bowl full of cereal more pleasant - likewise ice cream!

I also use it as a kind of bib for myself if I'm eating off my lap.

i use kitchen roll for patting dry soggy lettuce leaves to stop my salad getting soggy. Also brilliant for popping under any washed fruit / veg / herbs to help keep better in the fridge. Wrapping a bunch of herbs in kitchen towel helps them last longer.

Water spillage, way better than towels!

Since becoming a parent I've become a kitchen roll addict.

Agree it is great for the clearing up of vomit, diarrhoea, wee etc. it is also great for the stickiest substance known to humanity I.e. Liquid paracetamol. The pinnacle of kitchen roll achievement must therefore be quickly cleaning up freshly vomited liquid paracetamol (from skin and floor). Ah, memories.

I also use it for cleaning worktops.

To clear up the paint that I put on the side for one moment before turning around to get the lid and knocked it on the floor.

However use kitchen roll to clean up a lot of messes I hate mess

My oven door is faulty, steam comes out of the bottom and turns to water on contact with our stone floor. I had to use kitchen towel to save my poor mum's socks when she was stirring the gravy the other day.

Kids are sloppy at breakfast so I'm always reaching for the kitchen roll to wipe spilt milk, blobs of porridge etc. we use it to wipe greasy fingers with too

Too many times to count! Toddler vomitting in our new car on the way to the airport in the summer was a good one. We had booked a meet and greet and had to leave the car for a month in august. Coming back to that would have been Baaaaaaad. Still wasn't nice. A full valet was needed but could have easily been a full new interior!!

Soaking up the water which regularly accumulates below our cool tray in the fridge. Kitchen towel reaches right to the back where a normal towel would not fit.
