We all know that the kitchen can be a bit chaotic at times. Spills, splashes and stains can leave your kitchen looking a little worse for wear. The team at Thirst Pockets wants to know when have kitchen rolls/towels been your kitchen saviour?

Here’s what they say “Here at Thirst Pockets HQ we endeavour to make our kitchen towel as absorbent as we can to help tackle all those household spills! We are super proud of our new look range featuring Original Thirst Pockets, Our beautiful 'I love my Kitchen' decorated version, Multicloth that's amazingly versatile for cleaning windows & mirrors, leaving a streak free finish and most recently Thirst Pockets Extra Long with the same super absorbency as original but with twice as many sheets ... super absorbency goes on & on.”

So when have kitchen rolls been your kitchen lifesaver? Have they saved your DC from skidding on a water spill on the floor? Perhaps they’ve spared you a heart attack by soaking up a gallon of oil and grease from your chips and roasties? Or maybe they just take the hassle out of cleaning regular towels? However your kitchen roll has been your kitchen lifesaver, Thirst Pockets would love to know.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and best of luck,

I made a quick dam with them to stop a tidal wave of milk spreading across the table and onto the floor. It's surprising how much a little children's cup holds!!

I dropped five litres of paint on the floor in Poundland. The pot exploded Shock. Grabbed rolls of kitchen towel from nearest shelf to clear up as much as I could but not before I took a photo to share on FB Smile

kitchen roll is great for the many spills created by a toddler. I also use kitchen towels for food sometimes
instead of plates, things like toast, cakes etc.

We use kichen roll all the time for everything! Napkins, wiping up, drying, polishing, emergency tissues!
BUT ... I used to think it's was such a dull boring thing to spend money on, so point blank refued to buy it for years. But someone left some at my house last year and a have never looked back, I honestly don't know how I managed with out it. It's always top of my shopping list now.
I think I've finally grown up!!!

The everyday reality of living with a shaggy, muddy dog means that kitchen roll is always a necessity and life saver!

I use kitchen roll for so many things! Mopping, wiping, soaking up grease etc. Most recently it came to the rescue when I dropped a full bottle of wine on our tiled kitchen floor!!

Anything and everything. But mainly comes in handy to wipe fat and grease out of pots and pans before washing up to try and avoid it going down the sink.

I use kitchen roll for almost everything! Cleaning windows, wiping the worktops, wiping up mess on the floor

We use k-roll for everything. In fact we have two holders - one at the cooking end of the kitchen and the other on the kitchen table where we eat. I have an uneasy feeling if either holder is empty!
Most memorable moment - toddler throwing spaghetti at his sister, me literally catching the spaghetti mid-air with kitchen roll! (then folding it over and using other side to wipe up the mess)

I hate it when fried mushrooms drip all over my plate so I wrap them up in kitchen towel for a few minutes to soak up all the liquid

I used a LOT of kitchen roll when my daughter decided to wash her tea-set up in the sink - put the plug in but kept the tap running as 'wanted the water to be clean with no germs'! The room looked like something that should have been being reported on the news...

They're great for cleaning the grease from roasting trays once they have cooled down a bit. Wipe it off before it turns solid. Makes cleaning the tray easier when washing up, and no grease down the sink as the towels contain it nicely.

Kitchen roll was my life saver when my daughter dropped the whole bottle of Blackcurrant juice all over the floor with the cap off. She kind of froze as she watched it pulsing out all over the floor.

For some reason our dishwasher went a bit mental and flooded the kitchen. Came in to find bubbles and water all over the floor. Had to no choice to get all the teatowels out soak it all up because the mop was useless.
