Share your family’s Netflix moments this summer - £250 voucher to be won!

With summer in full swing, Netflix have asked us to find out how MNers plan to fit a Netflix Moment into summer family plans this year.

Netflix have a dedicated section for kids and family entertainment, including TV shows like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants and movies such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch. Learn more at the Netflix Kids section. Netflix is available anywhere in the UK with Wi-Fi, on numerous devices with Wi-Fi, including mobiles, tablets, TVs and games consoles.

So, how do you think you’ll be using Netflix over the summer holidays to entertain your family and enjoy time together? Are your DCs winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? My 3.5 yr old has just discovered moo-vies! Our favourite treat on a miserable Sunday is to cuddle up together on the sofa and watch something on Netflix. So far we have watched the Winnie the Pooh movie, Peter Pan and Madeleine. We're looking for musicals next - bring on the rain!

I watch my favourite stuff on my phone, in the bath. Peace and Quiet!

After a long day out, dd 2.10 loves to relax watching caillou her favourite show ever.

While she does, I usually catch up on TV shows on my iPhone :)

Teenage Dd and I bond over Gossip Girl most evenings after DS has gone to bed. The story lines are great to bring up a number of teenage issues and there always seems to be a moral to the story. DD has been hiding in her bedroom for the last year so I'm loving her wanting to spend some time with me every evening!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that watches Gossip Girl with my teen. We love it and it does cover some important issues despite being somewhat far-fetched.

We all love a Netflix movie night and take turns to choose the film. Popcorn is essential.

Note to Netflix- more musicals and Ugly Betty please!

Netflix is a great way of introducing films to my DT, and we can watch them a few times until they get bored

I can also watch on my tablet just before bed .

When my mini man is awake at silly I clock, he loves to watch cars or bumblebee (the hive) when the mini one is asleep the eldest one loves to watch the more grown up kids movies that are on offer. We generally have a movie night with the blanket out and feet up.

Finally when everyone's in bed dp and I enjoy catching up with a movie or one of the programmes, currently 24. It's really versatile glad it's been added to our package.

My toddler likes Thomas the tank engine and there are loads of episodes on Netflix, so I use that to keep him quiet when I need ten minutes to tidy.
I'm also on the lookout for a new series to watch this summer. If I'm on my own I'll go for a detective series but with DH we'll usually watch a comedy. We rarely watch films (both too tired and no attention span!) but maybe we will have another go at a film if DS's sleep improves soon.

My DS has been poorly this week so we have had some cuddle times watching Netflix. We have watched The Muppets and Some Thomas and Friends. Next on the list is Cars. DH and I are getting right into House Of Cards.

my 6yr old loves the goosebumps series. I can often bribe him if he's good all day he can watch a goosebumps on netflix before bed. it usually works!

We've had a couple of rainy movie days- we've particularly enjoyed some adventure films like George of The Jungle 2 and Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Would love to see some of my favourite films growing up like Flubber, Mrs Doubtfire, the Goonies to name but a few...

We have had to ban some shows though- Horrid Henry because it is just horrid. Didn't enjoy it and found kids behaviour went downhill after watching. Also Pop Pixies- such drivel makes me want to claw my own eyes out.

I am having a family netflix night for my birthday coming soon. We make a giant family nest on the living room floor and sofa, import copious quantities of food and then do a marathon watch. We take it in turns to choose the films or box sets and I am thinking of a goege session of 'True Detective' followed by Deep South Night- loads of Ya Ya Sisterhood, Get Low, In the Electric Mist type films. Or fashiony films- '

Ds loves total drama action, dd loves lilo and stitch and I have been watching orange is the new black. There are hundreds of cable channels yet we love Netflix

Watching an ep of Suits or Orange is the New Black after DC gone to bed. Too tired for a film!

We've found Netflix to be a life saver when travelling as you can still access English language programmes when e.g. Iplayer doesn't work. We play programmes like pingu and Thomas the tank when toddler ds wakes up early in the morning. When he's gone to bed, it's time for Breaking Bad or a film with dh!

We don't do Netflix tbh. Ds much prefers 'How its made' or 'Food factory' (weird child) to cartoons, and isn't that bothered about films. But this summer he is loving his newly acquired road cycling ability, so we've been able to have fabulous family cycles of 20 miles or so with a cake stop

I use netflix all the time for myself and it's very handy when friends come to visit with their children, there is so much choice to keep them occupied whilst we have a good catch up.

My 9 year old has discovered the Princess Diaries films on Netflix , I think it may have given her ideas! Her and her younger sister are still iCarly, H2O - just Add Water devotees. They watch an episode or so a day, my children have been off school from the end of June - it's a long enough summer without the rain.

We watch a film a couple of evenings a week : Spy next door, Sharkboy & Lava Girl, Clockstoppers have been particular favourites.

My 3 year old watches Max & Ruby - that's slightly less enjoyable for me, but she loves it!

We try to have a family film night most weekends. Films mostly chosen by our youngest but our teenager often gets drawn in by the banter and popcorn. Me and dh have a series that we work through just us to chill out together to, currently it's misfits.

We do lots of travelling over the summer holidays, so the iPads with Netflix are a godsend. No more squabbling in the back of the car, and no more "are we there yet?"s

Although they do both love Horrid Henry, which has the most annoying song!

We've rewatched all the Marvel films (Avengers Assemble, Thor, etc) and now DS is determined we will rewatch all of the early Doctor Who episodes, starting from Nine onwards. It's been great.

Netflix has been a great bonding experience in our house - I know that sounds corny!

My husband had fond memories of the cartoon 'Avatar - The Last Airbender' and so he introduced this to our 5 year old who also loved it and they watched the whole series together. I loved it too. We then all moved on to 'Cities of Gold' and lastly, 'Inspector Gadget'. We love that we can relive part of our childhood and share this with our son.

We all watch netflix at the end of the day when our son is winding down. We watch via our Xbox over wifi, however the beauty of Netlix is that we can watch on tablet whilst away and we've done this often. This is great because it brings a bit of our usual routine to our sons bedtimes on holiday.
