With summer in full swing, Netflix have asked us to find out how MNers plan to fit a Netflix Moment into summer family plans this year.

Netflix have a dedicated section for kids and family entertainment, including TV shows like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants and movies such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch. Learn more at the Netflix Kids section. Netflix is available anywhere in the UK with Wi-Fi, on numerous devices with Wi-Fi, including mobiles, tablets, TVs and games consoles.

You can see how other MNers are using Netflix with their families this summer here.

So, how do you think you’ll be using Netflix over the summer holidays to entertain your family and enjoy time together? Are your DCs winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? Are the grandparents and kids bonding over a shared love for Toy Story 3? Is Netflix providing some much-needed respite on a rainy day? What else has been keeping your children happy in the holidays? Whatever it is, Netflix would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

My 3 yr old prefers to watch Netflix than any kids tv channel. If we are home it is on the Xbox constantly. Best £5.99 a month that I spend.

I find Netfliux great for relaxing at the end of the day. I am currently watching Chuck. It is good fun & you can just switch your brain off!

Nomio23 · 07/08/2014 17:44

Netflix, not Netfliux!

mrpeterhall · 07/08/2014 18:53

I try to keep the kids away from the TV as much as possible - so no Netflix in this household

compy99 · 07/08/2014 19:24

we don't have netflix, at the moment we are happy with the Baby Channel and just starting to get into some nursery rhyme type dvds. we are singing "the wheels on the bus" over and over and over again!

tinam1 · 07/08/2014 19:44

I will be spending any rainy days watching any animation films to keep kids entertained.

alsproject · 07/08/2014 19:51

its great as the stuff is ready to download without schedules which means that we can watch what we want, whenever we want and there is a great selection to choose from

danikagrace · 07/08/2014 20:03

Great to keep the children quiet while Mum & Dad have their date night dinner at the table on a Friday!

lorrainej162 · 07/08/2014 21:30

Netflix, popcorn and chocolate will sort it!

Caly2014 · 07/08/2014 21:56

I use Netflix for my own down-time viewing. Having just finished Season 2 of Suits I'm looking for my next fix of US drama.

littleme96 · 07/08/2014 22:13

Family movie afternoons are a big thing in our house at the moment - with hot chocolate and popcorn naturally!

nashath · 07/08/2014 22:38

I'll definitely be using Netflix during the holidays. It's nice to have something different to put on for the kids every now and then.

Also love Netflix for the odd night in me and other half have whilst kids are asleep!

sl31 · 07/08/2014 22:40

Not got into Netflix yet but maybe I should

trinity4720 · 07/08/2014 23:15

Love being able to pick and choose and letting the little ones choose - it lets them feel so grown up :)

prisebero · 07/08/2014 23:53

We are Disney fanatics and we have just booked for Walt Disney World next year! Loving all the singalong movies! :D

Fourarmsv2 · 08/08/2014 08:44

We watch Modern Family as a family! :)

arat · 08/08/2014 09:29

We use Netflix to help keep the kids entertained on the rainy days - looks like we're going to need it a lot over the coming week!

SixImpossible · 08/08/2014 09:33

We were once given a Netflix subscription as a gift. Barely used it, and never renewed it. It seemed like a good idea, we were looking forward to seeing the films we always miss at the cinema, watching a family film at a convenient time, being able to pause for the inevitable loo-trips and explanations.

Never happened. We're far too busy!

Pickofthepops · 08/08/2014 09:34

Signed up for a free trial a couple of weeks ago and already been so useful. Ds has watched lots and dh is planning to when time allows. Interested to know how often content updated. Very impressed with range and think will continue after free trial.

Especially good - box sets, kids and adults. I.e Horrid Henry, old TOWIE (me, am sad!) toy story 3, tangled etc. DH loves the films.

A real holiday life saver and is saving my freesat box from being cluttered with a series link of horrid henry. Always good!

Netflix is a god send on a miserable rainy day.

Breaking bad has been on non stop its so addictive.

mazgoli · 08/08/2014 12:14

Not particularly keen on cartoons so we'll be watching 'A Second Chance' on a rainy day this summer. To be honest it would be nice to see more films for children on Netflix that are not cartoons.

annanh · 08/08/2014 18:04

Princess Diaries is the top Netflix pick in my house!

PurpleCrazyHorse · 08/08/2014 19:39

We love Netflix and often use it as a bit of an encouragement for DD to get outside, then to have a treat at watching a variety of the children's shows as a reward (otherwise she'd sit on the sofa all day). DD particularly loves the Barbie's Dreamhouse series.

DH and I really love watching a variety of TV series and films on a quiet evening when DD is in bed. It's great because we can just pick it up as we have the time without having to remember to return discs etc.

I'm in the middle of 12 days off work and the weather has been less than desirable so far and looks set to be the same next week (no doubt the sun will be shining when I go back to work!). Thankfully, Netflix has been keeping us entertained indoors. So far we've watched Paul Blart Mall Cop, Rango and Alice in Wonderland and there's still so much to choose from. I've also been enjoying watching lots of episodes of Skins when I have the TV to myself.

Marg2k8 · 09/08/2014 09:54

Great way to spend a rainy day.
