With summer in full swing, Netflix have asked us to find out how MNers plan to fit a Netflix Moment into summer family plans this year.

Netflix have a dedicated section for kids and family entertainment, including TV shows like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants and movies such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch. Learn more at the Netflix Kids section. Netflix is available anywhere in the UK with Wi-Fi, on numerous devices with Wi-Fi, including mobiles, tablets, TVs and games consoles.

You can see how other MNers are using Netflix with their families this summer here.

So, how do you think you’ll be using Netflix over the summer holidays to entertain your family and enjoy time together? Are your DCs winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? Are the grandparents and kids bonding over a shared love for Toy Story 3? Is Netflix providing some much-needed respite on a rainy day? What else has been keeping your children happy in the holidays? Whatever it is, Netflix would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

I don't use it a lot - just when it is horrible weather and the kids just want to sit and watch a good movie. I sometimes watch a movie when the kids are all in bed and there is nothing much on tv!

I have not used up to now but have read some excellent reviews and comments so will be using. We love watching movies and playing a game - such as key words. We might for example watch a movie and see how many emotions a certain character shows. Good fun and educational

I have 3 children, 2 boys, 1 aged 8 and the other 6 so they like the same shows, I have a nearly 2 year old little girl who is happy watching anything so is very easy. My kids love to watch netlflx in their room when they are just going to bed its great as they have lots of choices and there is no messing about with dvds etc.

What on Earth did we do before tablets and Netflix ? We love to go to Scotland on holiday - not the no. 1 destination for sulky teenagers! Netflix is a lifesaver!

Doodygirl2009 · 07/08/2014 07:27

Faith1976 · 07/08/2014 07:40

We watch all the kids programmes snuggled up with my 6 year old and 18 mth old daughters. We love a good movie too.

Kitsune1972 · 07/08/2014 07:48

We like to watch documentaries on Netflix, and my 11-year-old daughter will happily watch them with us, though she likes to watch the newest releases as well.

salvagebrav · 07/08/2014 07:51

manofcopper · 07/08/2014 07:53

A film night, so making a real family activity out of it trying to mimic the cinema experience.

libra101 · 07/08/2014 08:01

We don't have Netflix yet, but from reading the comments (above), we are definitely going to subscribe!

It sounds amazing.

Sallyannlloydjones · 07/08/2014 08:12

Watching Horrid Henry and the Princess diaries in the evening before bedtime a couple of evening a week.

badgermum · 07/08/2014 08:14

We love to have some movie times during the school holidays as bedtimes are more flexible so Netfix gives us a great choice of family movies, so far this month we've watched Avengers Assemble, Cars, Grown Ups, The Hobbit and my teenage son can stream them to his room through his xboc if he has friends over. Netflix is the perfect family entertainment

Segga86 · 07/08/2014 08:15

LEE88 · 07/08/2014 09:02

My kids love Sponge Bob and could watch episodes all day!

lizd31 · 07/08/2014 09:05

I don't use Netflix yet but I'm going to join as I'd love to watch Orange is the new Black. I've seen so many adverts & interviews with the cast & it sounds really good fun

RiSo · 07/08/2014 09:21

We have started using it to discover new shows as the kids programmes on tv are constant repeats, rainy days indoors are ideal for this.

thetav5 · 07/08/2014 09:24

netflix is a joy on a rainy day! I love the fact that the kids can have their own profile while I can keep my recommendations 'kid-free'!! my 6 year old especially likes watching all the disney princess movies on there! while I get to watch all my favorite chick flicks without my husband moaning and we get to watch all the super hero movies together! a perfect combination!

sammie1884 · 07/08/2014 09:26

It's a lifesaver for long journeys!

juju3 · 07/08/2014 09:31

ktmd · 07/08/2014 09:38

My son and daughter take turns to vote on the movies we watch as a family. I'm working through Orange is the new black.

gabbyevs · 07/08/2014 10:11

twinklenic · 07/08/2014 10:16
