When my older child’s turns 5 do I do a coc for mobility as she has joint hyper mobility and struggles to walk when she does walk she gets bruised ankles

Its such a long wait. Was your declined at first?

Sammyjane26x · 23/02/2026 10:41

Mr is October 27th on week 17 looks like a long wait for me if they are still in August such a long process since putting my claim in July 2025 could be looking around 10 months total crazy how they do things

You would need to call them to request the forms if they haven't already sent them for the mobility part. Unless your first decision was a full decline and your waiting for the MR still.

Yes I would call up if she's all ready receives HRC. And just ask if they can send you out the forms for the mobility part.

Uh oh, just had a message in my uc journal saying they need to speak to me about my claim, I’m almost 3wks in since decision maker agreed to backdate pay so I’m guessing it’s just to confirm everything but I’m so nervous I could actually be sick 🤢

They did my childs automatically when he turned 5 in January put him on lrm

Unicornmummy123 · 23/02/2026 13:24

NC scan date 20/01 just called and it’s with a decision maker. Do we know how long they take to make a decision? X

3amazinkids · 23/02/2026 13:47

@Babylipswifey I feel your pain, I first applied in June 2024 and I’m only just reaching the final hurdle now, waiting for uc to backdate payments then it’ll be time to apply again! This whole process is absolutely awful

With my daughter it took them a week to verify with my son it took them a month and half and may have to do his again so anticipating a longer wait if we win his mr some are quick with it though

ForKindDeer · 23/02/2026 13:50

Anyone waiting on renewals? Scan date 20/01, renewal end date is first week of may. Rang last week was told they have all the information they need and it’s waiting to go to a decision maker x

coronaworrier · 23/02/2026 13:54

Hi all - ignore my username, I haven’t posted since Covid ha ha. I hope you don’t mind me joining. I sent my daughter’s first DLA claim in Jan which was received quickly on 22/01/26 (scan date). I then received a letter on 05/02/26 (but dated 23/01/26) asking for birth certificate which I sent the same day. It’s been nearly 3 weeks - I’ve just called and they said it’s waiting to be assigned to a decision maker but they haven’t got the birth certificate scanned on yet and it can take 4-6 weeks (last week told me it could take 2 weeks!). Has anyone had a similar delay?

I reported the changes in my journal on 20th jan, child was verified on the 29th then I had a message on the 5th of feb saying they agree to backdate my claim, I asked for an update last week and was completely ignored then a few hours ago I had a message saying they would need to call me to discuss my claim 🙄 surely if it wasn’t near to being done they would just saying no updates or claim is being looked at etc

They will most likely have calculated it and due to it taking so long if child is on hrc it will be a substantial amount of money potentially more then 6000 so may want to reassure you that it won’t be deducted or possibly talk on how it effects you
