Hi as long as you have sent the extra evidence to them within 28 days rather then do an MR you can request it be submitted as late evidence and be sent back to the original decision maker. I did originally request a MR but they have cancelled that now and just sent it back to decision maker with the new evidence x

3amazinkids · 19/02/2026 14:24

So I have just received my “payment statement” on uc, they’ve added carers element but nothing else and I still haven’t heard anything about when I will receive backdated payment, is this normal?

As in the month you need to ask for a MR?
If it is i think I just missed it I received the letter on 11th January stating my claim stays the same rates if I want to do a MR to do it within a month of the date on the letter. So I think ive just missed it with the extra evidence but sent my MR they received it 6th Feb and the extra evidence received and scanned today the lady said it has gone to MR i may ring again 2mrw and ask again as I no how long there taking its going to be Xmas again before I hear i bet 😁 xx

Ema06 · 19/02/2026 20:58

By what you have said it sounds to me like you may have just passed the dead line for the extra evidence but I’m not 100% sure! I always get my advice on here off @Princessmom222

To be honest right now waiting times are completely unpredictable. New claims are being done in 5 weeks. I’ve seen COC and MRs from December/January being done and others waiting months. I really do think it depends on who’s desk you land on but then sometimes a fast decision isn’t good as that person does not look into everything properly and your child ends up getting an award they do not deserve and we as parents end up having to do MRs etc

me again lol but looking for some advice. My son is due to have his bloods done on Wednesday for genetic testing. Arranged by his paediatrician but myself and his dad do not feel comfortable with putting him through this. My son had just turned 4 and becomes very dysregulated with new environments let alone strangers restraining him and with drawing blood. If we decide not to go ahead would this affect his autism diagnosis referral does anyone know?

Sorry to jump on this message, my daughter is diagnosed with autism and the paediatrician recommended she had genetic bloods done, they said she could be sedated to have it done as she has pda and is violent so there is no way they would get near her without it but it might be worth calling to ask the question, we did however cancel because it was over Christmas and Christmas is far to overwhelming as it is without added the extra pressure and rearranged, but they don’t have to have it done, my paediatrician said it doesn’t always show certain result even if autism is obvious and she would like her to have it done but it’s totally up to the parents to choose.

I sent in D's application yesterday - have included a (17page!) ADHD assessment, CAMHS observations and IEP, here's hoping that's enough!

Thank you for your reply. Im so relieved he doesn’t have to have it done. I’ve been worrying about this for weeks. I think going forward I am going to re arrange as we waited 15 months for this appointment. And see how I feel about it next time the time comes

My renewal scan date was 22/12.
I called this morning and was told that my daughter's renewal has been changed from MRC to HRC and has LRM added to.

Can anyone tell me if this will be from the scan date or will it be from when the claim ends in April?

And if it is from the scan date will they make a payment for the added Hrc& lrm ?

The lady said she couldn't tell me this information so I'm just wondering if anyone has had experience with being awarded and higher rate and how it was paid etc.

Thank you

I think it will be from when the current claim ends. When my oldest child's changed from middle to high care it didnt change until then, however it was only done just over a week before the claim ended.

Hi sorry to jump on, is this only with COC? I done a renewal and already had decision though I don't think they looked at the evidence and what I said correctly I believe DD meets criteria for different rates, plus I have further evidence it was just too late to send as a decision had already been made, I have sent off for MR but wondering if I could ring and ask for it to be late evidence, would that be fine? Although I did write stating I was requesting a MR I didn't realise you could do late evidence until reading these posts.

Hi I’m not sure if it works the same for a renewal. I’d ring them on Monday and ask. I’m starting an MR on Monday again. I got the new decision in under 24 hours. I only rang to double check it had been sent back to decision maker and was shocked to hear a decision had been made. Kept at same rate as there was no medical evidence to back up what I said. Not really sure what medical evidence I can obtain to prove that my son does not sleep for long periods of a time and is up for hours throughout the night. Feeling very defeated. I don’t get why they ask for sleep diary’s if they don’t even take them into account! Also sent a supporting senco letter stating how my son shows extreme tiredness in school etc and had missed lots of sessions due to sleeping in the daytime because he’s been awake most the night! Feeling very defeated right now and ready to give up even though I know my child meets the criteria for HRC.

I did google it and it says yes COC and renewals are dealt with the same so you should be able to deal with it as late evidence rather than an MR

Hello everyone I’m new to applying for dla. My daughter has a chronic bone condition. I sent in consultant letters, details of surgery and information from her teacher.
Her scan date was 27/01/25. How long roughly did it take for a decision after your scan date.

many thanks
