I don't know much about all this but why can't she ask to be sectioned now this very minute for her own safety? Surely then she would get emergency help straight away.

StarlightMcKenzie · 11/09/2012 13:57

She's been told to take illegal drugs she doesn't want to take so that they don't have to help her any time soon. They are expecting her family to support the illegal drugs trade for at least 6 months.

I'd have half a mind to call the police and ask them to inform you via email of where the local coke dealers hang out, what they advise you pay and how to keep yourself safe whilst purchasing NHS recommended illegal drugs.

Sorry, coff. Above unlikely to be helpful, but the main board will have people who know how to get round these things. Try if you can to send quick clarifying notes to all those you have dealt with so far just to keep a record/trail if you are still going round in circles in a month or two or just in case god forbid things get any worse.

They are clever though the woman said if she had her job back then it wouldn't be me supplying it. Said she is not telling me to find it but accept the fact that she will go and find it anyway. That she isn't ready she thinks to give up but if she is ready to put her name on this waiting list. Dd said if there was somewhere NOW she wants to go and stop but that she needs help now with ed as if she has to wait she will take it and she doesn't bloody want too. how much does someone have to beg. I just took her into m and s to buy underwear ther at none in her size and she ran out crying as she has to go to kids section :( main board is welcome to this but it's crazy

Sorry but I am stuck in car driving around trying to work this out for her so I can't keep up with anyone

Coff, it sounds crazy to you but the main board is likely to have people who know the system inside out and can get you faster action. This won't sound crazy to them. They'll be used to this nonsense and know away round some of the nonsense.

StarlightMcKenzie · 11/09/2012 14:40

Coff, she is SO lucky to have you.

StarlightMcKenzie · 11/09/2012 14:41

Btw, if you are sure, just say, and I'll open it to the main board.

More big hugs Coff.

PALS or the Press - depends how desperate you are.

MP may also be a route.

Think you're going to have to make a very public fuss to get things moving.

Also - PM Vicarinatutu. She must see this everyday in her work as a Police Officer.

coff33pot · 11/09/2012 19:13

night is still young think I will wait till they all reject help for her. Only the GP left to come back and we will have a full basket.

oh no wait! There is support! a list of phone numbers for her to chat to and a support group to boost her self esteem so she can get a part time job! how grateful do you think we should be after all she will be alright then!

you know...if you presented in at A&E with your DD in a serious crisis...they would be admitting her directly to assessment and appropriate care...and I have to say, I think it is your best route too.

WetAugust · 11/09/2012 20:02

Coff

release.org.uk/services/helpline

or

www.drugsline.org/?gclid=CMvrve2ZrrICFYcKfAodU3QAPA

or

www.nta.nhs.uk/

According to this the average wait for treatment should be a week

www.nta.nhs.uk/accessing-treatment.aspx

WetAugust · 11/09/2012 20:06

Link below actually shows how many vacancies there currently are at treatment centres in your area:

www.rehab-online.org.uk/

Think I'd be tempted to make a formal complaint against your GP if they will not refer - if these websites are 'for real' (and not just the crappy sort of window-dressing that we've encountered in our ASD travels) then there is plenty of help out there and it's easy to access it.

So question is - why are they denying it to your DD?

coff33pot · 11/09/2012 20:24

ironically MHT phoned back earlier and said how proud they were of her had thought here eating disorder referal forms had been sent to her to fill in. obviously not so they are being posted tomorrow........she didn't mention forms she said ds would be phones by the ed unit on Monday.

GP finally phoned back and told dd she is worried bout her and will ring around again tomorrow but in the meantime is going to assign her a MH nurse to phone and visit because........wait for it........she downstream feel she has enough support at home.....

Ya couldn't make it up - could ya? Angry

StarlightMcKenzie · 11/09/2012 20:27

Oh God coff, you must be exhausted. Hang on in there.

coff33pot · 11/09/2012 22:10

Downstream? Bloody phone! GP Doesn't feel that dd has enough support.

now if I made this up no one would believe me wet :)

I have I admit nearly got to the point of hysterical laughter stage after the last phone call. Obviously she is not in danger tonight as the psych nurse isn't phoning till tomorrow. Trying to look up the links you have put here on my phone I have not had time to start up computer for days. ON site ds found one that was a 2 week wait but it's the Devon one they want her in for some reason which is the long wait.

DD just gone through depressive phase which happens with the meds but she ok again now. I have ran over to boots for se dextrose vit C powder with electrolytes and some pro plus caffeine for hopefully a placebo effect sugar caffeine boost you never know but I am running out of ideas.

feels tow like nether one wants to take her in must be another MBA funding issue..

OP posts:
coff33pot · 11/09/2012 22:12

NHS funding issue even!

Well the rehab options at H just down from you currently have 10 vacancies and take GP referrals. If you can find the money one of them is £750 per week.

You don't deserve any of this Coff - it's so unfair.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 11/09/2012 22:47

Oh coff, I've been reading this with my mouth open. Angry I can't believe the effing incompetence. I'm sorry I have no advice. You are being so strong, I wish I could give you more help. Sad

mariamma · 11/09/2012 23:18

Did I read before that your dd was going to see a cardiologist re the funny heartbeat stuff? (forgive me if it was just go for and ECG or something). Cos if you phoned a cardiologist and asked 'Do you recommend that dd continue to take large amounts of cocaine for the benefit of her health?', I am guessing the answer would not be 'Yes, of course, the medically unqualified triage worker in addaction knows best'
