Drinks and snacks on the table ( non alchoholic and low carb stuff to the right)..

I have no children tonight.. I may doze on and off throughout the evening as last night was a long one with DS.

Had an interesting convo with school .. Ds is now not showing any signs of distress... And has been Cured... With a touch of maturity!
Damn.. I didn't know he just needed to grow up..
< shucks>
anyway i mentioned that his anxiety was coming out physically ( bad belly for weeks and sleep talking non stop... Which is keeping the house awake every night)... And guess what?! ... It's better it coming out that way than through hard work behaviour at school.!

I. Give. Up. !

Just popping in to say hi-will be back later-You sound as though you need to doze- Don't school say some ridiculous things, but I guess that's another thread- don't worry about the low carb, non alcoholic for me-I fully intend to open the wine later Grin

Hi everyone,

School emailed to say they have arranged for an older child to read with DD every morning. (As discussed in her IEP meeting on Mon)

This is on top of an hour daily phonics, and a TA reading with her every day Blush

Not sure why, but I feel like a bit of an idiot now.

Also not sure why, but after receiving that email I had adrenalin or something rushing through me for hours afterwards. Do you guys get that when something good has happened?

Thecarrotcake · 28/01/2011 16:18

Indigo yup I get that!

bigcar · 28/01/2011 16:28

carrot, hope you catch up on some sleep.

indigo, why do you feel an idiot, that's fantastic Smile

we got dd3s dla renewed at the same rate as before which was a huge relief. Just don't get why we only ever get it for a short time, genetic syndromes don't go away Hmm But she fell when moving her chair in school and chinned the table, lovely grazed chin and fat lip. She has an assessment at the school we want coming up in just over a week, I so hope I don't stuff it up.

auntevil · 28/01/2011 16:31

So get that Indigo - you want to go and share your good news, but you know you'll get bemused looks as our triumphs don't seem to rock a lot of other peoples' boats!
Carrot i can only sympathise. At DS's parent meeting we discussed DS being angel/devil and that they get angel. She just nodded, said yes and laughed. i can understand her relief, but what about the rest of us. Poor little carotino that anxiety is showing up in his belly, that's a hard one to deal with. You can't control how your insides feel, and only you feel the pain.
Had a big, definitely not low carb cake at lunch with Bigcar - so, as i don't drink alcohol, will be taking refreshments from the right side of the table. Now if that doesn't sound like a euphemism for something dodgy, i don't know what does {grin]

auntevil · 28/01/2011 16:34

Bigcar, x posted! definitely still sticking to the right! Grin unless of course, the diet coke has found its way to the left.

bigcar · 28/01/2011 16:37

haha, should have added, had lunch with a lovely mner and hopefully didn't make her late on the school run this time Grin and apologies again for ds2 and his water play!

bigcar · 28/01/2011 16:41

carrot did you manage to find some bouncers Johnny Depp I couldn't see any on the way in?

DayShiftDoris · 28/01/2011 16:43

Hello

I am feeling stupidly pissed off at another thread where I was called naive for thinking a social life isn't important.

Whatever!!

The head has assured me that an IEP is being written. Bacin are in the school Monday to deliver training and I am attending. Scallypants has had a settled week.

I am exhausted and can't see a light at the end of the tunnel...

auntevil · 28/01/2011 16:45

Don't you think though, that if most people realised what accidents and incidents that happened in our houses that we have all carefully cleaned tidied and mended away, they would walk on tip toes - or not come in at all! Water play doesn't even make it onto the list [gross out emoticon}

Al1son · 28/01/2011 16:49

Indigo I get the adrenalin for every conversation, good or bad, these days because I'm always expecting to have the rug pulled from under us! YABU for feeling like an idiot Smile.

I feel really chilled out tonight for a change due to Piriton I took for an antibiotic reaction. I'm sporting a trout-pout to rival Leslie Ash's!

I can cope with wanting to punch DD2's teacher for insisting she wears a dress for the school production and sending her into a complete spin and even with driving 150 miles to have lunch with the outlaws on Sunday. I may keep taking this stuff and sleeping, it feels so good.

I wonder if I should try adding wine to the mix! Wink

bigcar · 28/01/2011 16:54

too true auntevil, this is why we have safety gates here still Grin at least the chaos can be contained!

alison, hope your feeling better soon, or not, as the case may be!

Thecarrotcake · 28/01/2011 16:54

Bouncers are just getting oiled up bigcar....

< ponders> :o

my house is too tidy.. ( this is not showing off).. Ds is so clumsy that he needs clear space to fall over!
But it looks ASIC I have OCD issues.

I. Give. Up.

( this is my phrase today said in a light hearted tone, with a shake of the head).

Insomnia struck last night so I'm knackered.
Taking DD2 to KFC to rewadr her for going to school every day this week.
I plan to stock up on junk and empty calories and be back for wine later.
Piriton makes me sleep. with wine added i'd be unconscious for days. may try some Grin

Thecarrotcake · 28/01/2011 16:55

ASIC??? Phone fail!
Anyone know what ASIC is?

OP posts:
bigcar · 28/01/2011 16:59

A Soft Impact at Carrots ASIC

auntevil · 28/01/2011 17:12

Al1son - some people pay fortunes to pump 'stuff' into their lips to get that look. Can't quite work out whether Piriton goes on the left or the right of the table? Grin

How about "Absolutely Spotless Inside Carrots" ?

Day shift YANBU about wanting a 'social life'. We all have different versions of what that entails though. Mine is 1 trip to the cinema a year, the odd meal out and lunch with friends when the kids are at school. A far cry from my 'youth'

Dameednabeverage · 28/01/2011 17:14

Hiya all. Know how you feel Atyourcervix - am knackered as been awake since 3.45am(ds wanted a tuck-in)and had a busy day at work. Ds had 2 fairly good days at school this week so he is quite cheerful. Going to Lahndaan at weekend for his birthday so must get some sleep in before then.
Carrot - enjoy the peace and quiet tonight.

DayShiftDoris · 28/01/2011 17:24

auntevil

I was called naive for saying I DIDN'T want / need a social and that it wasnt a right or priority...

It gets peoples backs up in RL too

auntevil · 28/01/2011 17:26

Dame - check all the routes you'll use in London, sorry lahndaan, as they're always noused up at the weekend. Rail replacement buses and around the houses tube journeys will knacker you even more

bigcar · 28/01/2011 17:30

dameedna are you going somewhere nice? If you don't mind me asking that is [nosey cow]

Thecarrotcake · 28/01/2011 17:31

:) AE and bigcar

dame have a fabby lannndarnn birthday trip :)

Doris... Sod others.. You do whatever floats your boat.

OP posts:
auntevil · 28/01/2011 17:34

Whoops Day shift - i misread that Blush, but then i count this as a social life too, so what do i know Wink
Didn't read the thread, but what did everyone think constituted a social life anyway? My DH is away at the moment and went go-karting at the weekend, then nice shopping. He was with some work colleagues and clients so classed it as work Hmm not really sure that counts as work myself, bit more like a social life! Grin

Dameednabeverage · 28/01/2011 17:35

Aunt, bigcar - we'll be driving so no worries about the trains etc.
Going to the Dungeon, then a walk around and something to eat. Hope it's a bit warmer than today though!

intothewest · 28/01/2011 17:36

popped back in- lahndon sounds exciting- a bit scary- I have to go in a couple of weeks time-I think piriton should go in the centre of the table and folks can decide

I'm being chucked off by DD
