Hello fellow fat fighters, I bit the bullet and went back to SW last night I have about 5 stone to lose and would like at least one off before Christmas. Would anyone care to join me?

Thank you, I will continue sticking to the rules. I think you are absolutely right and it is the serving size and how easily it would creep up. Also, I guess it really should be considered a treat rather than an everyday choice.

@MissRabbitIsExhausted Well done on taking today as a new day! And it's a new week as well, so a proper clean slate. ;)

What are people eating today? I will have roasted courgette and pepper pasta for lunch (leftover from yesterday) and maybe vegetable soup for dinner. Have run out of fruit in the house but my grocery delivery is tomorrow, so will have to try to munch on tomatoes for a snack. :)

@WhoUsedMyName Good luck with today's weigh! I think an evening weigh is cruelty, had my first one in the evening last week, but will be doing them in the mornings going forward. (New members meeting was only available in the evening, I felt so concious all day and was scared to drink any water during the meeting becausethe weighing was at the end!)

Today I'm having:

Breakfast: weetabix & milk (a & b), banana
Lunch: baked potato, cheese, ham & salad (a)
Dinner: Steak & salad

I've hurt my knee so no attempting to run this week, typical just as I was getting used to it, hopefully by the end of the week I'll be able to get back to it, I do feel like a bit of excercise was helping me!

Report

DAC21 · 14/09/2020 14:41

Sorry to hear about the hurt knee! Hope it will heal soon. How much do you normally run weekly? I am not doing great on the exercise front, trying to follow the 30-day plank challange app as much as I can, but I always slack at the weekend.

Hi all. Mind if I join? I have just booked in for my first ever SW group. I need to lose about 2.5 stone 😬

I’m confused with the jargon on this thread - syns, free food, A and B. I hope it will become clearer when it’s explained in group tomorrow (well, it’s not exactly a group now. 3 at a time. I’m starting with 2 other newbies so we can all be confused together 🤔).

MissRabbitIsExhausted · 14/09/2020 15:25

@DAC21 it's 3 times week, it's the couch 2 5k app I've been doing, I'm really unfit and I've found it really helpful!

Welcome @SaltedPeanut good luck for your first group, it is really confusing for the first week or so but you should hopefully get used to it quickly.

Seems so confusing but actually it's quite straight forward just a lot of planning.
Does anyone ever grab the microwave meals from Iceland just had a mushroom risotto really nice

Oh I occasionally have one . I like the meat ball and pasta one but only have as an extreme emergency meal .

I fell off plan Sunday night and struggled a bit yesterday. I just can't seem to lose weight anymore . I'm stuck on this weight since last Xmas . Least it's not a gain I guess . But It's getting me down a bit .

For the newbies the plan is easy once you read the book . Stick to it and you will definitely lose . Now I should practice what I preach Smile

I was browsing SW recipe inspirations and found that gherkins are free! I wouldn't have thought because of sugar content (had the same disbelief with baked beans), but the app confirms they are indeed free. Do people have other finds of unexpected free foods?

I have now figured that using a small frying pan is much better with the frying oil. I am a bit unsure of this Fry Light stuff though, I think once the bottle is finished I will fill it with olive oil and just use half the number of sprays.

@WhoUsedMyName well done in the loss . I lost 1.5 and was pleasantly surprised. Ate a bit too much rubbish last night though so back on track again today .
@DAC21 I don't mind the fry lite and yes I feel a bit the same about sugary stuff . I guess it's minimal .

WhoUsedMyName · 17/09/2020 08:01

@onelastoush well done with your loss that's great.
I don't mind fry lite, baked beans are the one when I'm really hungry and need a quick fix I eat them cold out of the tin much to my family's disgust 🤣.
I eat a lot of quark had never tried it until I started sw but as a sweet treat I mix in some option hot choc for 2 syns and you can eat loads 🤪

@onelastoush Well done on the weight loss, that is great!

Tomorrow is my end of Week1 weighing and I am so scared what it might show. I feel like I have been really good at following the plan so if I am told I haven't lost anything I will just be totally devastated. Also scared that I might be told that I had completely misunderstood the whole concept and was doing it all wrong...

@WhoUsedMyName Quark is great, isn't it? I am from Eastern Europe and this type of dairy is an absolute staple there. That hot choc quark idea of yours is amazing, I shall try that!

Hi, can I join? I first joined in January of this year and lost 1.5 stone by the end of Marcb when we went into lockdown. Initially I stayed on plan amd managed to hover around the same weight but fell off the wagon completely in the summer holidays Confused and put 10lbs back on...So cross with myself. This is my second week back on plan. I lost 1.5lbs the first week but got a few social occasions planned this week so aiming for 1lb this time.

I had a blip yesterday, bit of a binge . Was under loads of stress at work . However I did walk it off and confident I will stick to plan now for 5 days and hopefully at least have a maintain next Wednesday.

@Nodancingshoes good work on your initial loss and you have that 10 lb gone soon . It's so hard but we can do this

Nodancingshoes · 18/09/2020 07:30

Thank you. Just had mini shredded wheats, banana and raspberries for breakfast and made a chicken pasta salad for lunch. I feel quite in control at the moment - long may it last! Xx

4lb off, I am so pleased!

Do you guys normally stay for the group after the weighing? I found it a bit disappointing, thought we would talk about tips and things but it was just an announcement of everyone loss/gain and a little chichat with each person on how their week was.

@Nodancingshoes Well done on being back on the plan!

@WhoUsedMyName Don't beat yourself up, hectic days are the worse, when you have no time and headspace to plan things. Hope things calm down for you soon.

@DAC21 well done that's fantastic Smile

I've had a couple of blips this week too, I've been off work for a couple of weeks, hoping the routine next week when I'm back helps!!

I don't stay for the groups, like what you described I never found much value in them. I do know lots of people enjoy it and find it supportive though so I suppose it's what you find valuable.

I'm happier speaking to strangers on the internet about it obviously Grin

"I'm happier speaking to strangers on the internet about it obviously" - Haha, me too! Grin

We are doing a picnic in the park with friends tomorrow. Anyone has some good ideas for what to take?

onelastoush · 18/09/2020 19:45

Well done on the 4lb loss at @DAC21 .
Our group is just tips and ideas right now due to time constraints . I hated the way it used to be .

What about using your heb for the picnic and a nice toast chicken salad sandwich, hard boiled eggs maybe , fruit slices . Or syn some crackers , use hea for cheese and grapes . Oh I would love a picnic tomorrow.

Sorry a few of us having blips . I am afraid I had Maltese's today too . The only thing I can say is I actually felt sick after them , they tasted kind of oily and I put them in the bin so at least not too bad . My sis in law reckons a binge or 2 is what I needed and I should be good to go now ! Fingers crossed 🤞
