"I also took the wrong child to an eye appointment twice" Oh my god, this really cracked me up! 🤣
I am working from home at the moment and keep thinking I should try to declutter a little bit every day before new baby arrives, but just the everyday cleaning and cooking is sometimes too much to fit into the day, although it does look like I do find the time to come onto Mumsnet...

Hi can I join you ?
Restarted yesterday on line 🙈 omg scales were scary.
I felt so crap this weekend as I was away and everything looked crap on me and there were full length mirrors which were quite scary
So i weighed a scary 16st 3.5
Want to get to 11st which I achieved about 4 years ago so I know I can do it.
Want to lose 2 by Xmas which is ambitious.
Pre Covid I was going to the gym but with Covid and no gym, more cooking and baking weight has piled on !
tortillachipsanddips · 29/09/2020 19:43
Well day 2 and made this great recipe for dinner
Chicken shawarma
thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/nadiya-hussains-chicken-shawarma
I have adapted for SW by replacing the cornflour and oil with fat free yogurt, and served with rice and coleslaw (cabbage, carrot and lighter than light mayo)
And I make double so have some left for lunch. My teenage son and husband absolutely love this
WhoUsedMyName · 30/09/2020 12:10
Well I lunched out yesterday opted for what I thought was the better option chargrilled chicken, pesto and asparagus pasta well it was swimming in olive oil when I got to the bottom of the pile, I also then had takeaway pizza and birthday cake. Trying to redeem myself today just swam 30 lengths and I've got a salad 😑x
DAC21 · 30/09/2020 12:13
That's great, fingers crossed it will show what you would like!
I am on my period and feel like this will mean no loss this week. I am already dreading seeing that, unfortunately I am not good at coping with set backs. Will have to try to tell myself to hold on until the week after.
MissRabbitIsExhausted · 30/09/2020 17:35
So I had porridge for breakfast (a & b)
Salad for lunch & 2 Rivita rye breads, thinking oh I'm doing great, just had the biggest baguette with steak and cheese for dinner. I'm a nightmare sometimes.
I've decided I'm changing my weigh day to a Friday. It's 12 weeks till Christmas and I want to lose a stone by Christmas - surely that's perfectly doable in 12 weeks. Plan is to get fully in plan on Friday and stick to it. No more excuses 🙈
Nodancingshoes · 30/09/2020 18:20
Well done on losses and good luck to the ones waiting to weigh
I lost 2lbs this week - I've been pretty good with just the odd lapse. I did a meal plan and tried to stick to it which helped. I'm back down to what I was when lockdown started so need to keep at it now
DAC21 · 01/10/2020 14:11
@MissRabbitIsExhausted Of course you can do it! Great you are changing to Friday, we are all becoming synchronised! :)
@Nodancingshoes 2lbs is great and super well done on being back to pre-lockdown weight. I am still about half a stone from that, hoping to shed it in the next few weeks.
Have a friend coming for dinner and wondering what to make that is unnoticably SW-friendly and have cast my vote on this, hope it will turn out good:

Hi can I join you all please? I would love some motivational online support. I joined a SW group 2 weeks ago weighing 18 stone 8 😭 but have lost 6.5 lbs. It is weigh in night so I would love my half stone award I narrowly missed last week. I would love a stone off by Christmas and ideally 2. I have around 8 stone to lose and would love DD to get a surprise when she hopefully gets home from uni at Christmas. Mind I have been dieting for years and last time it was 3 stone before anyone noticed 😂🙄
WhoUsedMyName · 01/10/2020 19:16
Hello hello yes come and join! Thursdays are my crumble days as we have skateboarding and football to get through the evening (not me personally doing the activities)🤣 so I usually start snacking or grab a mcDs for everyone and I havnt so I feel like a champion.
MissRabbitIsExhausted · 01/10/2020 19:50
Welcome to those new to the thread
Well done on the losses & well done for not having a McDonald's!!
I've had a good day, stuck totally to plan, done my couch 2 5 k this evening too so feeling good today, if only I could continue it every day!
Ordered my Marks & Spencer's Christmas food last night and still drooling at the thought of it 😂 Christmas Colin the Caterpillar will be my reward if I manage to get this stone off by then!!
ListenLinda · 01/10/2020 21:28
Today at group we talked about motivation and the main topic was getting back into certain clothes. Last year I bought a beautiful culotte jumpsuit, in a size 14, but it just didn’t happen. Its too beautiful to throw away so its just sitting there in my wardrobe. I’d love to be able to wear it at christmas.
What about you guys? Do you have a motivator? Or an outfit you want to get back in to ?
MissRabbitIsExhausted · 01/10/2020 21:33
@ListenLinda that would be lovely if you could get in to it by Christmas
I'm getting married next year, my dress does fit me but I would like to get a bit of weight off, I'd be happy with another stone and think I would feel a lot more comfortable then!
treefallingdown · 01/10/2020 21:39
I'm hoping to join SW next week but I'm just curious about a few things....
If you're supposed to have 1/3 speed foods each meal, what do you do with things that don't lend themselves to have having speed in....like egg or beans on toast for example - do you have to add some veg to it? Or is it a 1/3 or your day intake overall needs to be speed?
If you have something different bread wise to what is on the hex list, is it 'part paid' by your hex if it's the only bread item you have that day and then the rest is synned or is it all synned because it's not classed as the 'right' bread?
Thanks!
Amaryllis69 · 01/10/2020 21:44
Tree falling down - the Hex fibre you need to stick to the list as it is on fibre content not all breads are equal. The idea of speed foods is to try to fill your plate with a third where you can ie add a salad to to pasta dish, mushrooms and tomatoes to your cooked breakfast, veggies with your shepherd's pie etc
