I have been on and off SW for a couple of years now. But my weight has creeped up and I'm now 13 stone 10 and officially obese Shock I am so annoyed with myself, and feel so low.

Anyway I have a holiday and a wedding at the start of July so want to get serious this time. Ultimately I want to lose 3.5 stone overall, but feel that 2 stone would be manageable - it would be 2 pounds a week until July.

Anybody fancying joining me? Please!! I need all the help I can get!

Feeling annoyed at myself as have had a really bad week with two meals out with friends and picking/snacking on crap so I don't dare step on the scales.

Big food shop at weekend and going to plan all my meals before hand plus back to work next week so no more picking as don't have time!

Will get back on this and will weigh in next Sunday with a loss hopefully Smile ( trying to go it alone see how it works as I have all what I need )

I lost 2lb. Was hoping for more with it being the first week as I really stuck to it. Hope having my period made a difference. Usually would be delighted with 2lb, it was just as its first week. Anyway, shall keep going. Have such a long way to go that it feels a bit overwhelming. So going to take each half stone at a time.

I'm also planning a weeks worth of menus at a time to help me keep on track.

Keep going everyone :-)

I've not been feeling well today so have just picked and picked at things including lots of chocolate! I did make SW spag Bol which was good for dinner.

I need to do a proper meal plan for the weekend or it will end up as chippy nights!

Ladies we can do this!! You can eat a lot on SW. Just remind yourself that every time you are hungry there is something you can eat. One thing I've found useful is to split my syns into morning snack, afternoon snack and evening snack. So usually a choccie teacake in the morning, wotsits in the afternoon and then a biscuit or meringue things in the evening. That way I always have a treat to look forward to

Had carrot and coriander soup with wholewheat pitta tonight. Stayed on the wagon.

Wishing you all well but just wanted to warn you about sugar. Hifi bars and muller lights etc are sugar. Sweetener yes but your body still treats them as sugar. If you are eating HiFi bars and low fat yoghurt such as muller lights and drinking diet drinks you may struggle to lose weight. And you will crave sugary stuff.

SW recipes are great. Healthy home cooked food. It's all the extras that make it hard to lose.

I do well on SW if I avoid all the sugary crap. So instead if a muller light and a HiFi bar I feel much more full if I chop a banana and pour a natural yoghurt over it and maybe sprinkle a few flaked almonds on top.

I'm desperate to lose two stone by July too and was tempts to go back to SW or join the SW threads on here but I know I will be tempted by the sugary empty calories which just sabotages it for me.

I'm not trying to be horrible but just want to make you aware. Sugar is sugar. It creates cravings for more sugar whether it is HiFi bars or muller lights or mars bars.

I get so cross at meetings when I see people stocking up on boxes of HiFi bars and thinking they are OK as they can have them as a healthy extra. One as a treat is ok but there is no way they should be counted as a healthy extra.

Don't get me wrong - I buy them sometimes. But I have one and count the syns.

Hope nobody is offended by my post! Wishing you all well. Losing weight is HARD. And it makes me cross when companies make it harder. It's in their interest to make it harder so we keep paying out money every week and buy their products thinking we are doing the right thing.

Cider I'm beginning to see what you're saying! I have been really struggling this time on SW and its the sweet treats that keep getting me. I have noticed that if I have Coke Zero etc i definitely don't want to eat fruit at all, I just crave the really sweet stuff. I think that's what has messing up weight loss this time around!

Hi Folks,
I'd love to join in if I'm not too late? I've been doing my version of Slimming World at home for the last 12 weeks lost 2 1/2 stone ( got lots to lose) but enthusiasm waning a bit. I have a big work event at end of August and would love to lose more weight, 2 stone by 1st July would be a great step along the way and would be even better to do it as part of a team effort.

Well I had my first weigh in, lost 2lb which I was pleased with. Haven't been going hungry and have been eating well. I'm going to aim for 2lb a week I think, I bought a SW cook book so I'm doing a healthy meal every night. I am really craving snacks in the evening but im having a SW choc bar, some walnuts and a baby bell and that seems to satisfy my cravings. I had baked beans and 2 poached eggs for lunch today and that kept me going till dinner. Good luck for the week agreed everyone X

I'm in. Been on sw for 5 wks and lost 9lbs - yey. But just put on 2lbs this week - boo.

Too much of a little extra here and there. I'm bf twins so think I deserve extra treats (usually chocolate ones). And I agree with Cider - I have found if I have anything with sugar in I just can't stop so had a blow out on thursday. I try and steer clear of too mucb processed crap and think sw is a great way to eat as long as you not filling up on mueller lights and mugshots!

But onwards and upwards. Would love to lose 3 st but a good push for 2st amongst you lot will be great.

Going to try and clean eat as much as possible. Baked pot for lunch today with salad and salmon for tea. A big sw friendly shop has just arrived so no excuse.

Thanks for the encouragement lostlala it's going to get harder from now on which is why this group is so inspiring. Hope you find your motivation, weekends can be difficult. Can you draw a line under the last couple of days don't beat yourself up maybe refocus on your 1st July goal have a non food treat, a long bubble bath works for me especially as it's hard to eat in a bath! and move on. If you have time before your WI try and pull it back a bit my fingers will be crossed for you.

Hi everyone,

I know I'm a bit behind the rest of you but would love to join for motivation!
I'm not joining a group as I've done slimming world before .

I'm 13st11lb and have a family holiday (his side not mine) in August! Really want to get to 11stone.
My daughter is 13 months so no excuse to be carrying all this extra weight anymore! Plus swimming in front of my partners 3 thin sisters and sister in law is too much to cope with!!!!

Report
Oly5 · 10/04/2016 21:00

Cant stop, I know that feeling!! Thin pals!!! You can do it by August definitely. Just keep focused.
Cider, I agree that sugary things make you crave more sugary things but sweetener alone will not make you put on weight.
Personally, I find saving my syns for sweet treats actually keeps me on the straight and narrow the rest of the time. I love that I can have chocolate or meringue or something and still lose weight

Morning all, I hope everyone has a good week on plan.

I ate a lot yesterday, had profiteroles for dessert but surprisingly stayed on plan. I'm 2 weeks in and already feeling better, less bloated and my skin is looking better. I was eating so much chocolate prior to joining, soon as the kids were in bed I was feasting on it so stopping that has helped. I'm breastfeeding and get pangs of hunger and sugar cravings but I'm managing them better on SW and not living off Freddos.

Breakfast today was a big bowl of fruit with zero fat yogurt . Lunch will be 2 poached eggs, beans and mushrooms. Dinner is pesto pasta with chicken and veg. Ive got a hifi choc bar and walnuts for my evening snacks and will have a babybell or two throughout the day if I get hungry between meals.

I'm focusing on the summer and feeling good in my summer clothes!

Hi again - can I join too please? I need to lose two stone by mid July. I'm currently faffing about not quite knowing what plan I want to follow! So I'm not joining SW but am concentrating on eating healthy proper food with very limited sugar and white carbs. I will use some SW recipes.

I'm currently having treatment for breast cancer after a pre-cancerous area was discovered in a routine mammogram. Have had two surgeries in last six weeks and will have three weeks of radiotherapy next month. All a bit scary and led to binging on chocolate digestives, jam donuts and wine! Gained about half a stone.

I'm currently about 15 st 10. Forgot to weigh myself this morning so will weigh tomorrow and take that as my starting weight. Am going to Florida mid July and would love to have lost 2 stone.

Oly5 - saving syns for the evening and having A treat is fine. I'm planning a HiFi bar and a mini bag of plain popcorn as my evening treats. But I think the marketing of HiFi bars as a healthy extra is wrong. Especially as people think they can have two as a HEx and then have two more as Syns and maybe have a couple of MullerLights too. That is too much sugar - I know it's sweeteners and I know it doesn't make you fat but it doesn't help and definitely hinders some people. I just wanted to warn people as some don't realise how much it can affect weightloss and cravings.

Star struck -I bought that book too. Going to try some of the recipes. And the exercise! I can't do much at the moment as I had surgery last week. But I desperately need to.

Today's food plan is a green smoothie which I'm currently drinking. Lunch will be a big salad with some chicken and whatever else I find! Dinner will be courgette noodles with pesto and a piece of salmon and some asparagus and peas and cherry tomatoes. Lots of water and herbal teas.

Cider I agree that the hifi bar shouldn't be marketed as a healthy extra because there are so many other things you can eat instead that really are healthy!

Sorry to hear about your health Cider. Eating clean will definitely help you keep your strength up for radiotherapy etc!! Just focus on your trip to Florida, imagine the sun on your face and you in a lovely dress!!!

Good luck everyone! This will be solo worth it when summer finally arrives!

Hi everyone

I'm so sorry to hear about your illness cider

I seemed to have dropped off slightly. I had a bad weekend so didn't end up going to class which is really so stupid, but I've been much better this week. I did weigh myself at home and I maintained my weight which is better than a gain.

I have had bacon, egg and mushrooms which were cooked with Fry Light for breakfast which is a good start. Since Saturday I have stopped drinking so much diet/free fizzy juice and I can already feel the difference. I am definitely not craving the sugary treats as much. I'm going to stop getting muller lights as they are very sweet too and bloody expensive so hopefully that will make a difference this week.

It's my birthday on Saturday but I'm going to the healthiest restaurant I can find locally!!

How is everyone else getting on? Anymore weigh ins?

Anyone still on here?
I'm 2.5 stone into SW but it's taken me about two months to lose the last half stone and I am sooo sick of it.
I have been to the ylimesalad page and that looks to have some good inspirational recipes.
I think I have decided to cut the vino all together. If I feel food deprived I make up for it with wine. bad road...
So I am DETERMINED to shift next 2.5 stone.
Please cheer me on Smile

Hi lostlalaloopsy
I'm stopping with the Mullers too.
I have noticed my weight loss has slowed since I started to mainline on them. I ate four yesterday. Yes, FOUR! What a pig.Angry
Also they don't really satisfy your craving for sweetness yet they are somehow addictive...
I am going back to that unpronouncable 0% proper Greek yogurt with fruit and a bit of sweetener. It's more filling and not full of cr*p
