Hey all, well done Cruise for another good night. Hope DS keeps it up. Off to enjoy the sunshine. Have a good easter everyone

LEMONADEGIRL · 07/04/2007 18:06

Happy Easter everyone,

Ds has kindly given me his cold, so feel pretty lousy at the moment.

Last two nights had two wakings at 12-30 and about 3ish was awake for approx 30 mins each time but seemed to be quite hungry. Not too bad considering but still feel so tired.

Cruise - great to hear the success you have been having - will be asking for tips if ds doesn't get any better.

cruisemum1 · 07/04/2007 20:56

hi all! didn't know we had a new thread! off to bed soon. I am strangely tired today. must be all the fresh air. sending sleepy wishes and easter greetings to you all. more later...

Swizzler · 07/04/2007 21:40

Thought it was a bit quiet on the old thread . Hope you all have a good night.

kittypants · 07/04/2007 21:50

hello, were on first night of pu pd.
cruise is it still going well?

cruisemum1 · 07/04/2007 21:52

kitty - tonight he stirred after 1 hour and i went and stroked his head etc. adn he went off to sleep! he woke again just now and i fed him as i wanted to be sure that any further wakings aren't because of hunger. we will see what the night holds.....alll in all it seems to be going well.

cruisemum1 · 07/04/2007 21:52

good luck kitty.

kittypants · 07/04/2007 21:54

i've put dd into her cot awake tonight, stayed with her til she went to sleep tho,.... we'll see how we go. she woke after an hour, so went in and held her hand. all's quiet atm so think i'll go to bed soon. am knackered. mowed the lawn as the sun got me in the mood!!!
happy easter all, i've already cracked into one of my eggs to accompany my glass of vino

Amberjee · 08/04/2007 08:07

we've had a terrible few nights. i'd estimate wakings about 10-15 times each night. horrid! but it does coincide with me trying my hand at eating dairy again. DH thinks he's had more reflux in the last few days, so maybe it is related...

tibsy · 08/04/2007 08:35

poor you amber. does your lo have eczema too? cant remember sorry i only ask cos dd has had it and it seemed to flare up when she or i had dairy (i know there isnt always a link and its difficult to pin these things down). dont know if that contributed to her night wakefulness tho other than her scratching at it like mad, poor thing

Swizzler · 08/04/2007 08:42

Amber: sorry for your bad nights . It can be hard to pinpoint the cause (if any) = I worked out that DS was reacting to caffeine, chocolate (boo) and red wine (boo again). Found it less of a prob as he got older - have just started eating choc again (yay!). Hope things settlde down soon.

Not as predictable for us last night, but got 1 3.5 hr stretch - the most he's done for months

Tamdin · 08/04/2007 08:47

morning everyone. happy easter. hope you've all got the lovely sunshine we do. Bit up and down last night due to no lunch or dinner (wouldn't eat )so wanted more milk but slept in until 8.15 so not too bad.
off to bbq at lunchtime at my parents which means on site babysitters so me and dh can just sit in the sun with glass of wine. can't wait. have a good day all

Amberjee · 08/04/2007 09:58

hi swizz, tibs, my LO doesn't seem to have ezcema per se, though he gets incredibly dry skin, esp on his legs. don't know if its dairy related. honestly i've been back and forwards on and off dairy about 4 times or so in teh last few months, and i think there seems to be some kind of correlation, but is hard to be sure. and sigh, i just cooked a really nice ricotta and tomato tart for some friends coming for lunch today. guess i'll have to reconsider whether i actualy eat it. what a generous host i'll be, serving up food that i don't eat myself!

Tamdin · 08/04/2007 10:02

amber domestic goddess jealousy at your ricotta and tomato tart

kittypants · 08/04/2007 10:09

ive copied and pasted this from a thread i started asking for tips on pu pd,but it started by ,bed at 7pm,took 20 minutes to get him to settle, then i think 9pm he cried so up for 5 minutes then all went wrong in night!-

well it didnt go to well, and it was my fault.woke at 11.40 for 5 mins, then 12.45 for 5 minutes, then 1.45 for 5 minutes then at 2.30 i gave him milk,he slept till 5am then i kept trying pu pd but he was having none of it so i gave him toys to play with hoping for bit extra sleep but didnt work.now hes in bed with bottle in his mouth
i think i'll go bed early tonight and try extra hard.

cruisemum1 · 08/04/2007 18:17

oh kittypqants for your night. does pu/pd work for you? my ds got so confused/cranked up by all the up and downness of it that i gave up! good luck.

gingerninja · 08/04/2007 19:37

Cruise, how did last night go? and this evening? Can you tell I'm obsessed. Can't bare the thought of loosing you all to sleepy babies!!

I went out for the first time last night (since DD was born 7 months ago, yes I know!) anyway, out of sight out of mind. Didn't worry at all. DH was watching DD with 2 bottles of ebm and typically she was pretty good. I got home at 11 totally knackered. By the time I'd showered (bring on the smoking ban)and faffed a bit it was midnight. DD woke at 2 for 1 1/2 hours!!!singing. Did then sleep until about 6. DH got her up and let me sleep 'til 9 but I felt hung over (despite having only one glass of wine) I was shattered. Going out is more hassle than it's worth!

Amberjee · 09/04/2007 08:17

I'm with you ginger, i'm in bed by 8.30 most nights and feel better for it.

After about 4 disastrous nights, LO was quite good last night. He went to bed at 7.15, slept until 11.30, slept again until 2, then 4, then woke a few times after that, but we were able to keep putting him back to sleep until 7. for him, that is really exceptional, particularly compared to recently where he decided to wake every hour or sometimes more. aiiiya! hope it stays good for the week.

today another domestic goddess treat, am making tuna burgers for lunch. the fishmonger only had sashimi grade tuna for sale (at the normal tuna price), so they sure are going to be high quality burgers.

Tamdin · 09/04/2007 09:04

morning amber and all SIFTW sisters. Ok night here. 2 wakenings at 11 and 5 for milk but he ate virtually nothing yesterday so not surprised really. Going to an 'open farm' today where you can bottle feed the baby animals so he's going to be soooooooo excited. can't wait to see his face.
amber your tuna burgers sound divine. a good friend of mine (a man no less)makes a mean tuna and lemon 'meat'ball in a fresh tomato sauce. god i'm looking forward to my lunch already and it's only 9am!

cruisemum1 · 09/04/2007 09:27

morning all. ginger - ds went to sleep on boob at 7:30pm, woke at 3:30am quick feed, up at 7:15am. it definitely works!

MaeBee · 09/04/2007 09:43

still here! havent gone over to the dark side yet (those sleeping through the night mothers that is) but my sleep obsession is on hold, cos my anal fissure is back with a vengence and i am obsessed and miserable about that instead. i really thought i was nearly healed, but i got slack with my diet i guess, and am paying the price now. have had assurance that the topical medicine should be compatible with breastfeeding so im going to risk it. have been trying to heal with herbs and stuff for months and months.
god, childbirth is a trauma! cant believe my body never recovered.
anyway, sleep seems to be going ok still, was going to start night weaning but am putting it off til im in less pain.

Tamdin · 09/04/2007 09:46

god mae that sounds excruitiating. hope the cream works.

cruisemum1 · 09/04/2007 10:22

maebee - yuck! i had a fissure after dd was born (plus third degree tear - ouch. hope you recover soon. it really is depressing .
