Why aren’t you banning the far-right agitators?

Deleting their posts but allowing them to keep inciting racial hatred under the same accounts is making the site unusable. Why should we keep reporting them if you’re not going to do anything meaningful about it?

I agree that there is a group who descend. Many repeat posters. Quite a few seem to be male as it goes!

I do feel a bit like there needs to be a greater awareness of terms used amongst the Far Right that are , for example, anti semitic tropes as they rely on them not being spotted and so feel very smug.

It depends what you class as ‘far right’

’Far right’ to some are actually just centre or just right of centre. The term has been so much as an insult to shut people down from having differing opinions it doesn’t actually mean what it used to.

Concerned about immigration - ‘far right’
Concerned about the effect of transgender issues - ‘far right’
Concerns about terrorism ‘far right’
Not gushing about Labour ‘far right’
Voting conservative ‘far right’
Not voting Librals ‘far right’
Not marching for Palastine ‘far right’

If there is a blatant racist post then it usually gets nipped in the bud sharpish but the vast vast majority of posts are from people with genuine points - yet other people don’t like them being discussed.

I’m edging to the right of center with age but last night there was a huge campaign to disseminate lies aimed solely at scapegoating asylum seekers. It wasn’t only on here but most of us hold MN to a high standard.

People have to report things for them to be deleted. It's not proactively monitored. There are codewords that are like klaxons. Let's not engage in whataboutery. There are far right posters on MN. There were 5 all over the Tommy Robinson thread.

And, by the way , I had to go through find and report every single racist post - not just request that the thread was looked into. Literally not my job. The thread was disabled but the posts were still there.

Some posters are definitely bad actors, some are credulous fools and some are unable to distinguish between True Crime programmes/podcasts and real life.
Apart from the massive disinformation campaigns across social media and the pushing of a particular (false) name (origins of that apparently in Russian disinformation 'news' programmes), what part of not compromising the judicial process do they not understand?

Agree. The threads last night were awful and some posters seemed to be copying and pasting lies they'd seen on X with a heavy side helping of outright racism. It's like Combat 18 have discovered Mumsnet in the last few weeks and have descended.

These tropes are as much a Far Left problem too, as the Conflict board will attest to. The same few posters have been stirring up hatred for ages now with the use of tropes and coded language. Multiple deleted posts or reports rarely seem to make a difference, and they just carry on ad infinitum.

Are you asking me to display the very material MNHQ have removed because they don’t want it here or do you want to learn more about how people are radicalised by extremists and what can be done to protect us all?

Everything reported was removed so no, it can’t be posted on here but you can find similar sentiments all over X. Fill your boots!

I report antisemitism which is enduringly popular at both extremes.
