Mumsnet Talk re-platforming - Known issues update

Hi all,
As you probably know we re-plaftormed the site overnight on Tuesday (in order to move to a faster, more stable and secure site which would be easier to develop new features on). There are a number of issues and bugs as a result of the move that we are working through and we thought it would be a good idea to list them on a page which we can keep updated as we sort through the problems. Mumsnet is a very large, complicated and old site - we've been working on re-platforming for the best part of 3 years - so it's not a huge surprise there are some bugs but please be assured we are working our way through them will get to them all as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime I do apologise for any inconvenience and frustration - I know it's been a painful day and a half for some.

I’m getting that black box loads tonight, and posting is taking forever. I don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes but the site feels worse tonight.

And yes I've tested it against other websites on this device in the past ten minites, and it's definitely Mumsnet that is slow

Who knows if this will work here, but the app issue list doesn’t seem to include the fact that I still can’t post anything on iOS at all. I get this error every time. It was updated with the latest today. I assume most others can’t post from the app either. This is my first time trying to post anywhere else - I’ve always used the app.

Ignore me! I logged out and back in and it's working now 🤦‍♀️

Older Watched messages have disappeared. I've searched them & re-Watched them but as soon as I step off they disappear again. They were all meaningful to me - that's my I kept them on my Watching list!

I’ve had “500 internal server error” about 50 times this evening (no exaggeration).

I found I was getting error 500 messages because the "upgrade" had weirdly transferred a lot of topics into hidden - in my case Chat was in my hidden topics. Other people have had AIBU, and others have had some smaller section they use become unavailable. If you go into your talk settings via Customise, you can check you hidden topics and see what's in there that shouldn't be, that you did not put there, and clear the check. The error 500 messages then go away and life is easier!

Having trouble with messages. Can't message one user but seem to be able to message others. Just says 'ooops mumsnet'. I know she's trying to message me too. Any ideas?

I can’t do this because the error 500 message appears every time I try and go to settings no matter which device I am on!

Thanks @milkyaqua but I just checked and I don’t have any topics hidden.

On a Fire tablet you can see one post at a time (if it's a short one) I have attached a view, whereas before the update 7 or 8 posts. There is acres of blank screen either side though and lots of space between lines and posts. This set up makes it unusable for me, both visually and the constant scrolling with my arthritic old hands.

Please could the option to view all posts in an individual thread be restored? I have my account set to 50 posts per page and have had for many years but occasionally want to see all posts on one page so that I can use the search function of my browser to search for a keyword further back in the thread. It's annoying to no longer be able to do this and I don't want to set "all posts on one page" as a default because they take too long to load when I'm on 3/4G out and about.

Minor bug - where I have commented on a thread it goes back to my comment when I refresh to see if more posts have been made or go back to the tab from viewing another tab. This is even though I have bookmarked (much) later comments in that thread several times. Really frustrating on long running threads.

Not had the error 500 message until this morning. This morning its a nightmare on my phone. Nothing updating.

The DUPLICATION issue is a real pain. I hope that (a) @MNHQ can get it fixed asap; and (b) they can go through the site and delete all the duplicate threads and posts from the last couple of hours. They look ridiculous.

Does anyone know where the advance search went? Can't seem to find the correct tab ...

It’s gone, sadly. The new search function isn’t anything like as good.
