Advanced Search Question

Hi Tech, asked this question on another thread but it's better off in here.

Posting from a TwatPhone iOS 11.2.5 using Safari.

When I use advanced Search, when I click on the post (or poster) I am looking for, instead of taking me directly to the post within the thread, it drops me at the top of the thread. It never used to.

It's a pain in the arse. Especially if it's a long thread (eg, I was looking for a post I made a long time ago about the flooding in my home town. Adv Search found my post really quickly, as I knew a 'key' word and (obvs) that it was posted in my name. However when I clicked on that actual post it took me to the top of that thread and I had to scroll through, nearly to the bottom, to find the post I was after).

Another poster has the same issue, but someone who posts using their laptop doesn't. Is it just a phone thing?

On the other thread on this subject I suggested to LouMumsnet that the 'tech' team should perhaps post on here with an explanation but not holding my breath.

I definitely wouldn't recommend breath holding on this thread, even those pearl collecting free divers would have expired by now.

@MNHQ As super as it is to chat with the lovely people on this thread, that's not what we're here for. Please tell us what, if anything, the 'tech' team are doing to rectify this error? Or if they are incapable of fixing it, just say so and we will shut up and go away. Thank you.

He has extra time to practice now Silvery, as he's decided sleep is for wimps! Stupid four month sleep regression. Of course I could search for relevant threads for advice etc, except BLOODY ADVANCED SEARCH IS STILL BROKEN!

Wow, night time paragliding, he has advanced and of course you can't sleep safely in your bed as you need to be there to catch him if the ground's a bit hard

So sleep is a rarity for you at the moment with him having sleep regression.

Hi folks,

We know this has been an incredibly long running issue on the site, and we're sorry that we weren't able to fix the issue. We did try to replicate and release a fix, but it didn't take.

We are in the middle of designing what new search is going to look like and have factored in all of your feedback.

We expect a new version to be up and running over the summer months - it will be bigger and better than it is now with a new and improved interface and results page.

We know it's a bit of a wait, but it will be worth it.

@LilyMumsnet Thank you very much for your post. We shall await the new and improved Advance Search with interest. While the Team are working on that, you might ask them to consider giving us an edit button, even if it only gives us a minute to correct typos etc.They have one on the Digital Spy forum if they want to see how it works.
