Advanced Search Question

Hi Tech, asked this question on another thread but it's better off in here.

Posting from a TwatPhone iOS 11.2.5 using Safari.

When I use advanced Search, when I click on the post (or poster) I am looking for, instead of taking me directly to the post within the thread, it drops me at the top of the thread. It never used to.

It's a pain in the arse. Especially if it's a long thread (eg, I was looking for a post I made a long time ago about the flooding in my home town. Adv Search found my post really quickly, as I knew a 'key' word and (obvs) that it was posted in my name. However when I clicked on that actual post it took me to the top of that thread and I had to scroll through, nearly to the bottom, to find the post I was after).

Another poster has the same issue, but someone who posts using their laptop doesn't. Is it just a phone thing?

We're really sorry this is still happening - there are loads of new projects on the Tech front planned so we hope this will be sorted out asap.

I shall shout loudly and see if we can get an official update.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm sure the Tech Team love working on new projects but it would be great if they could fix the old ones first.

Heavens knows what I will do with my spare hours, days, weeks and months if Advanced Search actually gets fixed and I will no longer have to bump this thread

How lovely that the Tech Team have the time to create utterly useless things like the voting system. Obviously much more fun than fixing something that's been broken for months.

Bump. Should we hold a collection so MNHQ can afford to hire a tech person who knows how to fix this?

I’ve long suspected that the ‘Tech team’ is the 16 year old son of someone at MNHQ. It’d hard to believe it’s a team of professionals considering the time it takes to rectify faults.

Would make sense of the inability to fix this stuff.

In view of the many promises and radio silence from @MNHQ I've come to the conclusion that fixing it is beyond the 'Tech Team's' capabilities and MNHQ won't admit it.

If I advance search and click a post I'm not even taken to the thread. Just a "oops we can't find the page you're looking for" message

Thanks Batshittery Whenever I try to use AS and it fails, it spurs me on to keep bumping. MNHQ obviously don't give a damn that they are running an error ridden website but as one of their users, I do.

I get that too on occasion WhoAreThey Yet more great service from MN 'Tech Team'.

Just to add my tuppence, AS still not working on my app and hasn't for aaaages.

Isn't it odd that HQ just will not address this issue? It comes across as very shabby.
