Advanced Search Question

Hi Tech, asked this question on another thread but it's better off in here.

Posting from a TwatPhone iOS 11.2.5 using Safari.

When I use advanced Search, when I click on the post (or poster) I am looking for, instead of taking me directly to the post within the thread, it drops me at the top of the thread. It never used to.

It's a pain in the arse. Especially if it's a long thread (eg, I was looking for a post I made a long time ago about the flooding in my home town. Adv Search found my post really quickly, as I knew a 'key' word and (obvs) that it was posted in my name. However when I clicked on that actual post it took me to the top of that thread and I had to scroll through, nearly to the bottom, to find the post I was after).

Another poster has the same issue, but someone who posts using their laptop doesn't. Is it just a phone thing?

Good lord. Well 2 years ago when I first noted this I was using an iPhone 6! But I’ve just checked, and it’s still an issue so iPhone 8, iOS 13.3 and completely up to date.

I couldn't find my previous post on a different thread, but came to have a moan that AS is still broken, and is still unable to open a large proportion of threads given as a result of searching. Instead it directs to the "oops page not found" screen.

There is a treasure trove of useful information on MN, and sometimes it is much easier to search previous posts than start yet another thread about steam mops (for example). It would be lovely if it were fixed this year.

Only just realised this thread disappeared from my watch list (suspicious!), any updates @MNHQ? Happy new year everyone

It's been nearly a week so another bump!

At the end of a week in which I am considering my membership (!) I am tentatively posting that I think it’s finally fixed. I been able to search my own postings, click on the one I wanted and it sent be straight there. I’ve also AS’d a couple of other posters and had the same result.

So yay I think

Well I'm going to say that it's not working for me now either.

I've done a couple of Advanced Searches recently, and like others, have discovered that NOTHING on the results page is a clickable link - not even Talk (I tried to go straight from the results page to whinge about this but couldn't).

It all works fine on the search page in Advanced Search, but once you have the results, you can't click on anything.

This is a bit shit really, isn't it, since the point is to see what people have said previously - you need to be able to click on the links for the comments, or at the very least the links for the threads (although I realise that was LtEve's initial problem!)

PLEASE FIX THIS!

OH yes - should mention that I'm using Chrome and a laptop, not any of yer newfangled app nonsense.
