All that I have learnt today is that we are clearly lacking roasted and live chicken emoticons. Ya know, the important stuff Wink

noblegiraffe · 25/08/2015 20:08

Simon is the one who is good at spelling, Jeffrey is the angry one.

Simon is looking though the Twitter profiles of people who commented on MNHQ tweets (before going to marching band practice).

If you use Twitter you should lock your tweets down and remove any identifying info from your account. Blocking Simon won't help.

Arkkorox · 25/08/2015 20:09

Did we ever get to the bottom of that cake situ?

Today I learnt how to remove chocolate biscuit from the inside of a tumble drier after my 18mo chucked a BN biscuit in there and turned the fecking thing on.

Pipbin · 25/08/2015 20:10

I've just checked and that twitter user has locked her account now, but she hadn't before.

shopafrolic · 25/08/2015 20:11

How do you lock tweets down?

MistressWeatherwax · 25/08/2015 20:12

phew! Glad everyone's back.

var123 · 25/08/2015 20:13

Is it possible to change your email address used to setup the mumsnet account? I am thinking of giving MN a standalone email account that gets used for nothing except MN.

The other option is delete my account, but I'd rather not do that, unless I have to.

The site went down early yesterday afternoon and didn't come back up to about 11am today.

VivaLeBeaver · 25/08/2015 20:13

Who is Simon?

DontTellThePrincessBride · 25/08/2015 20:14

Go into settings and change them so that only approved followers can view your tweets. Once you've done that, people can't simply click follow and follow you, they send a follow request and you can either reject or approve it. If you reject then they stay locked out, if you approve then they can see your tweets/profile info.

RaspberryOverload · 25/08/2015 20:14

BankWadger
And can we have [vodka] for those of us who don't drink Gin?

Come on! If there's going to be a [vodka] emoticon, then I want a [rum] one!

NerrSnerr · 25/08/2015 20:15

I just searched 'mumsnet' on Twitter and there's a few people making jokes about the hacker who clearly have their real names showing. If that's you I would seriously delete the tweets and lock your account and have no reference to where you live on your bio- it would take a simple search on 192.com to find your address (if you haven't opted out)

weffles · 25/08/2015 20:15

I have changed my Twitter settings to private, won't make such a glaring omission again. But most people's Twitter feeds are public anyway. Jeffrey/Simon/Donald cheers for the heads up.

Auntpetunia2015 · 25/08/2015 20:15

var i changed my email to a standalone just on the accounts page.

shopafrolic · 25/08/2015 20:15

Think I've done that already. Thanks Donttell

DontTellThePrincessBride · 25/08/2015 20:16

On twitter go to 'settings' then 'privacy' and tick the boxes, that will lock your tweets.

Y'know, all this business, it's the only thing that has ever made me want to join Twitter...

Welcome back, btw!Grin

AnyFucker · 25/08/2015 20:17

var apparently it is possible but trying to do it might just earn you a nervous fucking breakdown

I have been trying to change my MN email for about 4 days now.

SouthWestmom · 25/08/2015 20:18

Var - took me two minutes max. Changed to a new email address, received a confirmation email and clicked it to change.

Redglitter · 25/08/2015 20:19

Is anyone else still having problems with the app. Every time I open it it comes up with the BT page that the address isn't found

Millliii · 25/08/2015 20:20

Can anyone help please. I am trying to log into Gransnet but the address bar is http not https which mn said is insecure.

TiredButFineODFOJ · 25/08/2015 20:23

Can we please please have a wankbadger and cocklodger (or Jeffrey and Simon, if you will) emoticon please please please I'll be really good if we can?!
We can have a competition to design them.

LimeJellyforBrains · 25/08/2015 20:23

I know about Jeffrey but why Simon?

PacificDogwood · 25/08/2015 20:25

MrsW, yes, I have surprised myself with the impulse to join Twitter over this whole sorry affair (I don't even FB). I sat down in a corner, quietly like, and waited for that notion to settle.
Reader, it has done. There shall be no tweets from me.

You are all very welcome Grin
