Just typed in https.www.mumsnet dot com and got not recognised Confused

Hi Gym,

Apologies for this.
Have you mailed us?
If so, I will search now. We are still ploughing through, apologies for the delay.

@VelmaD

Rebecca, reposting from last night - I think some posts are being missed due to the chat nature of the thread maybe

I have a lot of sent messages and am struggling to delete them, I'm only on a phone. Inbox ones went fine.

Olivia, No one answered previous question (just prior to ddos yesterday so understandable) but there seems to be no select all and delete option in the Sent items of Pms?

Hi Velma,

Thanks for this.

PMs work in the same way as email and text, once they are sent, you have no control over them. If you have PMd your address or other personal info you are concerned about, you will need to ask the person that you sent the message to to remove it.

Deleting messages from your inbox will not remove them from the recipients inbox.

We can and have removed all PMs for deregistered users.

Hey all, just to make sure everyone sees this: Justine has posted over here to say that we're taking down our app, effective immediately. I've pasted what she says below, but better to post app-y questions on the other thread, to keep all responses in one place.

Afternoon all,

In the wake of the recent hacking and DDoS attacks, we've been considering the security of the entry points to Mumsnet. Because the current Talk app uses http, rather than https we can't guarantee that it is 100% secure, so we've taken it offline.

We've been developing a new ios app using https for a while and we'll be launching it in a few weeks' time; obviously we'll let you know as soon as it's out. We hope to follow it up with an Android app in due course. In the meantime, though, we'd suggest app users move over to our mobile site. Sorry for the inconvenience; hope to see you on the new one very soon.

Thanks,
MNHQ Flowers

@MagpieCursedTea

Will those of us that have been testing the new app be able to continue using it? (Pleeeeeeeease? I love it so much!)

I'll find out for you, MagpieCursedTea (and not just cos you've given it such a ringing endorsement Wink)

SarahMumsnet · 27/08/2015 17:05

@MagpieCursedTea

Thank you Sarah! (I'll do all the free advertising you want Wink)

Ah, Magpie - I've checked with Tech and apparently testers aren't able to use the new app currently - but this is due to some releases they did yesterday, rather than anything old-app/hacker related. Sorry about that! You can have it back soon - promise Smile

KateSMumsnet · 28/08/2015 10:47

@BrumpyGollocks

Aww noooooo!!! I neeeeed the new app back !! The old app isn't working for me & I can't find a thread I started about my poorly Ds, Sorry for stealing all the exclamation marks! Hmm

Sorry Brumpy - a super duper new app is on the way, we promise. Could you try the mobile site in the meantime? Hope your DS gets better soon Flowers

Hi there,

Just to let you know we are aware of last night's technical problems, and MN Tech are looking into it all now.

EmmanuelleMumsnet · 30/08/2015 13:40

Hello twirlypoo [waves] - no, I was here pre-apocalypse Smile.

SarahMumsnet · 30/08/2015 15:05

Hey everyone, just to let you know that Tech say this wasn't another DoS attack; they're aware of the problem and fixing it.

Thanks and sorry for the blip
