What is this obsession about tortoises, they are really quite dull.
They don't do anything, you can't kiss and cuddle them, and they're not furry.

Surely it should be hibernating. Put it in a shoe box and stick it in the airing cupboard. Maybe it won't be so irritating by the spring.

When I was much younger and my parents wouldn't let me have a pet I tied a small white rock to the end of a piece of string and called it fluffy. Dragged it after me everywhere.

That was almost exactly like owning a tortoise. Can we have a Small-Rock-On-A-String Section please?

why do I think one pet forum would be better? Because the doghouse is rabid. Perhaps it would diffuse the situation. Or otherwise get rid entirely.

It was actually a lot tamer than many doghouse threads I have seen.

I quite like The Litter Tray and wouldn't be mad keen on losing it to a general pet thread. I think, from what has been said, that it seems much mellower than the DogHouse.

It's not sad. I loved Fluffy. Loved him.

Took him to school and everything. They confiscated him for being a potential offensive weapon but I knew he would never hurt a fly and they gave him back at the end of the day.

My brother killed him in the end.

He used him to chalk hopscotch grids and rude words on the pavement until Fluffy was too small to fit on the string.
