At least the weathers so rotten today I’m not bothered about missing guising

Checking in whilst we wait for BoJo to finish his tea and come on the telly

waitforitwaitforit · 31/10/2020 17:24

He is always late for these things. He presumably chooses the time - you'd think he'd arrive on time. It's just so rude.

BlueThursday · 31/10/2020 17:26

He’s in that fridge again

I was just saying that to DH. It's a recurring theme; if you know you are addressing the country you bloody turn up

Letting this be leaked is ridiculous too

Same, it's almost a relief Grin

Halloween Grin Thanks for the new thread!

A cunning ploy to stop guising? Though I am not sure what it's called outwith Scotland and America.,Or taking tips from his special advisor on punctuality?

anon444877 · 31/10/2020 17:57

He's always late isn't he?

MouldySoup · 31/10/2020 18:00

Happy to get out of guising - according to local facebook page there are eejits running about destroying outdoor decorations and generally making a nuisance of themselves. Can't be arsed getting caught up in that.

I usually love Hallowe'en but its been a bit "meh" this year.

StayAlertIndoorz · 31/10/2020 18:02

So is this going to be an announcement that basically puts England in the same situation that the CentralBelt has been in for weeks?

And there’s rumblings from some education union (Sorry wasn't paying attention) that people want the schools to close? Can I just ask how bad Covid is affecting your schools? My 2 are in S3 and S5 and they don’t know anyone who has been off with Covid. One kid was off because someone in their family had it but that’s all they know of. The teacher who told them about the new mask rule said there hadn’t been in a single case in the school. This is a large-ish school (800+) and in a supposed hot spot in the Central Belt. I’m genuinely surprised by this (But very happy obviously!) and wonder if this is just an exception and that most schools are being more affected?

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 31/10/2020 18:06

Excellent thread title Grin

It’s wild here the kids are actually grateful that they got all their sweeties at home this year!

Awrite · 31/10/2020 18:09

I'm Tier 3, no cases in my school or my kids' schools.

The atmosphere did change last week though, like we have ramped up a gear.

Scotslassie1 · 31/10/2020 18:11

No, non essential shops will shut in England ( if reports are correct). Basically back to full lockdown like we had in March. Really hope they don't shut the parks again. My friend's in a block of flats in London with wee ones as are many others I guess- they need them!!

babbi · 31/10/2020 18:12

Central Belt here .. both primary and high school had confirmed positive cases .
Full classes closed and numerous other classes have had pupils sent home to self isolate.
Getting worse every day unfortunately.

Though I understand that the pupils haven’t been too ill which is encouraging.

RaraRachael · 31/10/2020 18:12

I'm tier 1.5. Very few cases here but we don't seem that different to other tiers that have a lot more cases.

Stormy here so have had a day indoors baking and trying not to think of what else is going on.

Thanks for the new thread Smile

Lidlfix · 31/10/2020 18:20

Central belt but Stirlingshire so much lower rate but cases in DDs school twice, not connected. Where I teach no cases that resulted in PH involvement but quite a few absent post October break due to infection contracted during the holidays.

Am experiencing increased numbers of absentees due to isolation- which I know is entirely different from cases but still impacts on learning and teaching .

throwingawaymyshot · 31/10/2020 18:33

I think there's been 3 or 4 in DDs high school that we know of so far, one of her friends too. My best friend and her husband and kids have it (primary aged).

I hope if NS does go to tier 4 its after this weekend cause I have a break away and I don't want to get kicked out!

Might need to name change as I think my posts are getting a bit outing again...off to name change

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/10/2020 18:44

There's 4 primary schools I know well, and of those only 1 has had a case. 1 child, 4 staff I think

goodness17 · 31/10/2020 19:12

Thanks for new thread...title not very representative of all on Scotsnet though Wink

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 31/10/2020 19:15

Feeling very sorry for all those businesses in England that have spent time and money making themselves Covid secure for nothing to just close again

Justmuddlingalong · 31/10/2020 19:16

twitter.com/NicolaSturgeon/status/1322618167999561729?s=09 tweet from NS

Callisto1 · 31/10/2020 19:17

Our primary had some kids off because of a positive case in an adult associated with after school club. Think the secondary had a couple of cases also. Maybe more since I only get the news from friends. We're in tier 3.

dementedpixie · 31/10/2020 19:20

We've had around 8 cases in our secondary and ds is apparently a close contact and has to isolate until 9th November I think. I was called yesterday about it but the close contact occurred 4 days earlier so only 10 days left to isolate for

dementedpixie · 31/10/2020 19:21

I'm.in North Lanarkshire btw so we're level 3
