My daughters birthday is coming up. My OH, her stepdad said were not getting her a cake because we didn't buy his kids one. Their mother bought theirs and sent it to ours with the kids. So they still had a cake.
My daughter has no one else to buy her a cake only us two, her dad has nothing to do with her.

Is this nasty or is it reasonable?

I can't honestly believe you need to ask?

BeneficiaryMadness · 11/07/2022 15:50

He’s a massive cunt. Hope that clarifies things.

Potstip · 11/07/2022 15:51

How can you think that this is reasonable? What's going on for you that you need to ask this question? Please get a cake. And leave your partner

HidingUnderMyDuvet · 11/07/2022 15:52

Very nasty!

But why can't you just get your own daughter a cake?!

Dfg15 · 11/07/2022 15:52

Tell him to fuck off, nasty bastard

Suprima · 11/07/2022 15:52

Of course it’s nasty

the fact that you need to ask this is terrifying

your poor daughter- her mother allowing a man in her life who would begrudge her a birthday cake.

LoudingVoice · 11/07/2022 15:53

Tell him that’s ridiculous and just buy her a cake, it’s not even a discussion to have surely, just buy her one.

This. Of course it's nasty. What will happen if you buy her a cake, will he kick off?

Fairyliz · 11/07/2022 15:53

Why exactly are you with this horrible man?
Get you daughter a cake and throw out the man.

greywinds · 11/07/2022 15:54

What everyone else said.

Clymene · 11/07/2022 15:54

Just buy her a cake. Why are you even asking him? He's an arsehole

chilledbubble · 11/07/2022 15:55

Do you have access to money? Buy her a cake. Also consider a solicitor and work out how best to leave him

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/07/2022 15:55

Get rid, seriously. He must really hate her to want to watch a child have no cake on her birthday :(

His kids had a cake, all kids should have a cake on their birthday regardless of who paid for it.

Seriously he must hate her.

Whitesapphire · 11/07/2022 15:55

That’s horrible

Shasha28 · 11/07/2022 15:55

I'd LTB for this. No joke.

Yup, this.

You can’t get much lower than a man who takes out his spite on a child on her birthday.

chilledbubble · 11/07/2022 15:56

Why do you need his permission

girlmom21 · 11/07/2022 15:57

Tell him to fuck off then go and buy a lovely cake and don't share with him.

This, 100%. Almost unbelievable. He should not be in DD’s life.

feelingprettylight · 11/07/2022 15:57

🙄 nice try

NottheLot · 11/07/2022 15:59

Of course OP this raises massive questions about the rest of your relationship with this man, and his relationship with your daughter.

what’s going on OP? It sounds really concerning.

Greensleeves · 11/07/2022 16:00

Id give her the best birthday present ever by booting his spiteful, infantile ass out onto the street. What a thundercunt.

And buy the cake yourself, you don't need anyone's permission.

PickAChew · 11/07/2022 16:00

You need to stick up for your daughter. No one else will.

ReeseWitherfork · 11/07/2022 16:01

The ex wife must be aware what a dickhead he is. Would have made sense for her to buy a cake to enjoy with her kids. She should also have been able to assume he would have supplied a cake for him to enjoy with them. There shouldn’t be a scenario where she needed to buy a cake for him to have with his kids. Surely?
