Hired a Private Detective

I just spent about 45 minutes composing a thread about my recent experience and it disappeared when I tried to post it Shock. Thought I'd ask if anyone would be interested in reading an EXTREMELY long post about my adventures before I wrote it all out again? (I do need advice as I'm all over the place about it).
BUT it was very long to avoid the dreaded drip feed.

So, thoughts?

I'd be interested.

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 26/02/2022 16:39

I would be too.

teddypicker · 26/02/2022 16:46

Ok, thanks both - I'll write it out again. Bear with me, might take a while Smile

So been seeing someone for about a year, taking it slowly and easy, but then I went and fell for him. He says he loves me but no actions to back up the words. Red flags - never going to his, meeting up in a different town, Christmas present promised but never appeared, dah di dah.

I'd been working night shifts up to last weekend (finished Monday morning) and he surprised me by saying he'd booked an Airbnb lovely little cottage in the countryside for 3 nights. We could go there when I'd finished work, I could sleep, he could do his paperwork and then we could chill together. I was so happy and all my reservations got put to one side. We got there and it was lovely.

I couldn't sleep that well probably because I wasn't at home, but then at about 2pm he announced that he had to go, something to do with work (he's a tradie). He said I should stay there and get some sleep and he'd come back first thing in the morning) I was a bit upset (LOT upset) but nothing I could do. I went home too so I could get some sleep.

So I woke up at about 4am with a really strong feeling that he wouldn't turn up again. I got up, drove over and picked up all my things, tidied the place up and drove back home. Sure enough, got a text at 7am saying he'd been called out to an emergency job Hmm
After that I started thinking about all the red flags and inconsistencies. So yesterday I rang a Private Detective to find out the truth about him. Part 2 in a minute in case it gets lost again.

And he'd gone home to his wife? This is clearly batshit because who wastes money on a private detective to follow someone they've been with for a year, and who finds a private detective that quickly in the middle of nowhere?

mrsstrange245 · 26/02/2022 17:13

Jesus H Christ this sounds insane why do you think he would waste the money on booking all this

WhoreOfBabyliss · 26/02/2022 17:13

Yes.......YES.......

johnworf · 26/02/2022 17:14

Hope you're a fast typer. I need to know what happened.

Not batshit. Google 'Private Detectives', they can do most things online because they know where to look.

But why would you instantly hire a private detective to follow someone you have dated for a year? That's batshit.

Chocbuttonsandredwine · 26/02/2022 17:21

If it looks like a fish… and smells like a fish …

bonfireheart · 26/02/2022 17:21

Leaving him is easier. But I am super nosey so please do continue and let us know what you find out please.

UggyPow · 26/02/2022 17:24

Can I be nosey too?

Buildingthefuture · 26/02/2022 17:24

Type faster! I want to know!! I’m going with…..went home to his wife or same sex partner? I really hope you will say that he had an emergency job that lasted all night, but this is MN so……

Bananalanacake · 26/02/2022 17:26

Have you met any of his friends and family

Yankeescot · 26/02/2022 17:27

This guy sounds very, very married.

Chocaholic9 · 26/02/2022 17:28

What happened next??? I'm longing to know.

OrlandointheWilderness · 26/02/2022 17:30

I'm dying to know but I suspect we all know what has happened...

SpacePotato · 26/02/2022 17:32

You probably could've found out yourself rather than paying someone.

With the many red flags you should have just walked away!
