Ex being sentenced today. I need some hand holding

Long story short. My ex husband raped me numerous times during our relationship. I finally reported him last year. Last month he pleaded guilty to 2 counts of rape and 1 count of assault by penetration. He left it right to the last second to change his plea to guilty but I was so relieved I didn't have to go to court.
He is in court for sentencing today. I am a bit of a mess. I feel so shaky and scared. I know he's going to go to prison so I don't know what I'm scared of.
I have to phone witness care later and they will be able to find out his sentence.

Ok I have news. He got 10 years, he has to serve a minimum of 2 thirds, he has a lifetime restraining order and has to sigh the sex offenders register for life.

I'm please with the sentence I think. Just need to stop hyperventilating.

I'm so pleased for you, I know it doesn't take away what happened but hopefully you can start to put this behind you. At least you know he can never come near you again.

Great news - he got an extended sentence, so the judge deemed him to be a danger to the public. That is why he has to serve two thirds before being eligible for release.

All the very best to you Martha.

Result. Although a sentence should be the tariff to serve, none of this early release crap.

Hopefully you can get on with your life now MsMarthaMay Flowers
