I think this is a good idea as well! Here is a link to womens aid

Lemmingswife · 02/07/2006 16:39

There are quite a few people on MN who are in unhealthy relationships & I am sure your thread will be a great support for them.
Weekends are always quiet though, tyedye - especially sunny weekends!

Lemmingswife · 02/07/2006 16:40

Well done, GF.

glitterfairy · 02/07/2006 16:42

LOL I have just been showing people round my house as I have to sell it and of course a talking point is the police alarm!

gothicmama · 02/07/2006 16:44

Hi GF, I think a support group is a fab idea as a survivor of dv I know good support is important

sparkler1wantsaconservatory · 02/07/2006 16:47

What a fantastic idea for a thread. I personally have had no problems with domestic violence, thankfully, but remember my mum going through it with my dad when I was a kid.
It's so good to know that those that need to talk it through can do so here on MN. Sending

glitterfairy · 02/07/2006 17:02

HI GM good to know you survived as well.

gothicmama · 02/07/2006 17:03

yes I survived thanks to Gloria Gaynor and a frying pan( long story but 14 years ago now)

glitterfairy · 02/07/2006 17:06

Ah songs for survivors I have Gloria on many of my playlists and the kids play it for me as well. I quite like Alanis and you oughta know as well.

glitterfairy · 02/07/2006 17:07

I am intrigued by the frying pan though gm! Just dont picture you as the swing for him sort!

Papillon · 02/07/2006 17:12

gothicmama · 02/07/2006 17:30

lol paps - Gf sorry to shatter your illusion of me but I did, I think that pan probably saved my life. The song certainly gave me the courage to believe things could change

Lemmingswife · 02/07/2006 17:47

Your peace didn't last long then, tyedye. Hope all is calm for you tonight.
GM, it sounds like things got very scary for you.

gothicmama · 02/07/2006 17:59

Women's Aid - how to donate page for anyone reading this who could help this way. I'm sorry I can't do more, I can't imagine living in fear and recognise that although dh and I have tough things to deal with, we fundamentally respect each other and our family, and our home.

Lemmingswife · 02/07/2006 19:32

Thank you for that, tribpot. I will donate to them too.
Glad all is calm for you, tyedye - lets hope it stays that way.
