I been sacked today.

For doing something inappropriate at work. Totally my own fault. Am devastated.

It involves another person, who is 3 days into a 2 week holiday with his df.

Aside from my own shame, embarrassment and general self-hatred, I don't know whether to try and get in contact with him. Nothing he can do, will ruin his holiday.

Such a fucking mess.

Don't try to contact him

Do you have some real life support?

What on earth did you do?

said · 10/10/2011 19:51

Has he been sacked as well and doesn't know ye?

thisisyesterday · 10/10/2011 19:52

oh dear.
do you have a partner/husband?

i wouldn't try and contact the other person.

Kayano · 10/10/2011 19:52

I'm sorry you got sacked

But YABU to not post what you guys did to get instant dismissal! Wink

FabbyChic · 10/10/2011 19:54

Did you shag over the photo copier and take pics?

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 10/10/2011 19:54

Instant dismissal? No warnings? What on earth did you do and what effect will your actions/behaviour have on your unsuspecting colleague?

Fuckedupagain · 10/10/2011 19:55

Yes to husband.

Yes, he could be sacked too, but I'm not sure.

There isn't anything to be gained by telling him.

I am devastated

Sorry for the self pity. I don't deserve sympathy.

We are going to need to know what happened before we can judge make an assessment of the situation.

glitterkitty · 10/10/2011 19:57

Bloody hell, dont be too hard on yourself. You may have fucked up but you are still the same person you were before this happened. Not an evil monkey or anything.

Much sympathy. Gotta tell DH?

toadoftoadhall · 10/10/2011 19:57

Can you tell him after he gets back from holiday but before he gets back to work? I wouldn't tell him whilst he is away, there isn't anything he can do.

HairyGrotter · 10/10/2011 19:58

I seriously need to know the details, I'm going to be that brazen about it.

FabbyChic · 10/10/2011 19:59

Personally I would tell him so that he had advance warning. It is really hard to be instantly dismissed nowadys with all the new rules in force. You must have done something really bad.

bubblegumpop · 10/10/2011 19:59

Devastated because you got caught? Now partners are gonna find out.

Shagging in the work place is instant grounds for dismissal. That is what it is no?

stripeybump · 10/10/2011 19:59

Oh gwan tell us what mischief you got up to - it can't be that bad and the worst is probably over now.

Fuckedupagain · 10/10/2011 20:00

Dismissal above board as was contract. Inappropriate use of company communication.

No reason to think I have any case for unfair dismissal.

AnnetteProfit · 10/10/2011 20:00

is this AIBU by stealth?

thisisyesterday · 10/10/2011 20:00

i assumed shagging at work too.

have you told DH?

ChippingIn · 10/10/2011 20:01

Oh - does this mean you are going to have to confess to your DH?

Were they within their rights to fire you?

bubblegumpop · 10/10/2011 20:01

Well telling him wont help you. I would suggest concentrating on your husband?

picnicbasketcase · 10/10/2011 20:01

Sex emails / dirty jokes then?

FabbyChic · 10/10/2011 20:02

Are you sure the dismissal was above board? For only inappropriate use of company communication seems a bit harsh.
