What’s going to happen?
Providing our flakey buyer even wants to go ahead now?
We were due to exchange tomorrow and complete Friday.

Oh my goodness - I'm waiting to hear on mine. Starting to get really stressed now. We're trying to exchange and complete simultaneously today. Chain of three. My property is the top of the chain and vacant. Bottom of the chain are FTBs who can move in on a different day. The poor lady in the middle is packed up and desperate for it to go ahead. Haven't heard a thing yet.

LolaSkoda · 27/03/2020 11:55

Yaaay!

Conrad79 · 27/03/2020 12:00

Amazing news. We’re a chain of 3. We’re moving into an empty property, our buyer is a FTB & she’ll leave it a few days before moving into ours!

Due to exchange & complete next week. All Solicitors are happy to continue so far Smile

Our only problem is that we have no removal men but we can book a van & do it ourselves. Which is hard with small kids but we’ll just have to do it (if it all goes through!!)

OVienna · 27/03/2020 12:13

Well done iggly

strawberry2017 · 27/03/2020 12:56

igglypop · 27/03/2020 14:10

Literally exhausted.
A few more bits to pack and we will be done!

Hooray! Congratulations! We completed today too and feel a mixture of relief and utter exhaustion.

@NI58 how did it go for you?

Congrats OP!

Ni58 · 27/03/2020 20:51

Got there eventually! Got confirmation at about 2pm. Celebrating with a stiff drink! Congratulations to everyone! 🍾

igglypop · 27/03/2020 21:11

My estate agent says that ours today may be the last ones for a while. I reckon the ones next week will be ok too.
My removals man is finishing up today for a few weeks off too.

We finally exchanged and completed but not until 4.30pm! Absolutely knackered but we're in and the stress of waiting is gone.
X

Yes @Rlw2020 !! Great news.

Great news and fingers crossed for those next week-

We made it in yesterday, so lovely to wake up in our new home!

sanityisamyth · 28/03/2020 08:02

Having a similar nightmare too. Taken me years to sell my house. Buyer last year pulled out. I then rented it out whilst it was empty (I've moved to be able to go back to uni). Had another buyer (accepted offer 22nd January) so the tenants moved out in early March. Buyer, estate agent and solicitor have now all gone quiet so I'm left with paying rent and mortgage with absolutely no end in sight or guarantee that they're not going to change their mind.

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 28/03/2020 08:16

We completed yesterday too and I’m so relieved, I don’t think I’d have coped if it had all fallen through at the last minute! Our buyers tried to pull out repeatedly in the last week but thank goodness we had exchanged a couple of weeks ago. Breathing many sighs of relief and quite happy to have however many months of being cooped up at home to empty these boxes.

0htooooodles · 28/03/2020 09:00

I honestly don't know what to suggest to our solicitors anymore. It turns out the reason the couple at the top of the chain are refusing to exchange and complete is because their 60, and presume they're worried about the virus (we all are!) but are refusing to do ANYTHING until it's over - which could be ages!! Our buyer will only wait until the end of april, and then he's said he can't wait any longer. Everyone else in the chain is desperate to move ASAP, but the tops solicitors are just being unreasonable to any suggestion, plus no one can ever speak to them. Do solicitors not speak to each other? It's so frustrating! I just want us all to come to an agreement where we're all happy! Surely the chain collapsing is what no one wants Sad

sanityisamyth · 28/03/2020 11:44

My estate agent has been ignoring me since 11th February. Not quite sure what to do!
