I've posted on another thread but didn't want to derail so made my own.

I've just taken the second lot of tablets internally and I am absolutely terrified of what's going to happen!

I've had no bleeding so far just cramps.
I can take some ibuprofen at 2.15 and codine at 4.15 again plus I feel really sick now but I'm not sure if that's my anxiety.

Is there anyone who's free to keep me company while I have to go through this, I literally am thinking all sorts, to I'm going to bleed to death to I'm going to see something horrendous when I pass something 😭

Aw OP this is awful for you. I know the terrified feeling, I've had both medical management for miscarriages and a termination, so I know the fear of what will happen/how will it feel. Don't read online horror stories!!

I found it unpleasant but ok. Hot water bottle and over the counter painkillers did the trick for me. For me, bleeding came and went, sometimes quite a bit, sometimes not that much.

Find something easy to watch on TV while you wait to take your mind off it as much as you can (which is nearly impossible, I know). You don't have to see anything, just let it pass and flush the toilet and don't overthink it.

Sounds like your anxiety is making this feel worse - it's a safe procedure that many, many women have gone through. Do you know what you'd do/who you would contact if you were worried? It might put your mind at ease to have a "plan" in your head. Have you got any support in real life?

You'll be okay Flowers

I'm in bed watching Netflix, dh has got me all my favourite bits and pieces to eat but I can't stomach anything atm.
My dh is being great, he's keeping the kids occupied downstairs. Well they're not kids as such, tweens but are worried why I'm in bed again.
I just want it over with now 😫

I know, this is the really awful bit. Hopefully, the worst of it will be over with in a few hours time.

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 14:25

@MsFrog it's the waiting isn't it, and the unknown what's going to happen.
I've just eaten some crisps to take away the nausea but it's made it worse if anything.
I was suffering from sickness/nausea for 2 weeks from when I found out and it's so debilitating.

@ohdoriswherethesalad
Hi OP, sending you hugs 💕 Hope it is going OK for you. I had my telephone consultation with the nurse yesterday morning, who confirmed they would be posting the pills out to me within 2-3 working days. I hope they arrive soon as I just want to get the ball rolling and get it done with.

Thinking of you xxx

hillarypcof · 26/08/2020 14:46

@ohdoriswheresthesalad p.s please do not read horror stories online, the nurse gave me all the statistics yesterday and not only is a medical termination a very common procedure, it is also very rare for complications to occur. As soon as you pass the pregnancy the pain and bleeding will ease. How are you finding the pain and bleeding so far? 💕

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 15:11

@hillarypcof thank you for your kind reply.

The pain isn't that bad really I can have some more codine at 415. I've still had no bleeding which I'm quite worried about but I've read it can take a while.

I've started watching The Crown on Netflix to try and concentrate on something!

It's hard not to read the stories I've been looking all day and some are just awful!

@hillarypcof the pack was pretty swift in getting to me, I had my consultation last Wednesday and the pack was here Friday morning.

OP posts:
ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 15:43

I don't dare go to the toilet 😫😫😫

OP posts:
bornninthe80s · 26/08/2020 16:04

How are you doing? Here for you! I didn't bleed nearly as much as I thought I would, you will be okay. It's crap to go through but you'll honestly be fine xx

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 16:06

I still haven't bled. I have pains but no bleeding at all. I'm just having something to eat again as I feel so bloody sick.
It's torture 😫

OP posts:
hillarypcof · 26/08/2020 16:56

@ohdoriswheresthesalad any bleeding yet, OP? What time did you take the first 4 tablets earlier today? I remember the nurse saying it normally begins within 2-4 hours, but for some people it is more like 6 or 7.

Netflix is always a good idea, get yourself stuck into something! How would the pains compare to that of a period? The same, or worse? x

@borninthe80s I'm glad your procedure went well and I hope your body is making a relaxing recovery 💕 thank you for speaking up on here about your experience. It really has helped me x

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 17:04

@hillarypcof I took the first 4 at 10am, the second 2 at around 2ish and still nothing but stomach ache, literally just like mild period pain. I have such a low pain threshold but I promise these are nothing like I thought. Well unless it gets worse later on but I blinking hope not.
I still don't dare sit on the loo in case something happens!

Thank you all for being here with me through this 💜💜

OP posts:
hillarypcof · 26/08/2020 17:20

@ohdoriswheresthesalad OK stick with it I'm sure it will happen soon. If you are concerned you could always call the 24 hour helpline number, you probably have it but if you don't BPAS' one is 0300 333 68 28

Virtual hand hold and here all evening, keep us posted OP and rest up 💜

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 18:10

Still nothing. I've been to the loo and nothing.
Should I ring the helpline? I'm really worried! Xxxx

OP posts:
hillarypcof · 26/08/2020 18:17

@ohdoriswheresthesalad I would ring the helpline if I were you, for peace of mind more than anything. They will be able to talk you through it all, give them a call it is 24/7 so you can phone them anytime. Let me know what they say xxx

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 18:27

@hillarypcof I've tried but they just say they are experiencing high call volumes and call back later at a less busy time.

I am freaking out now that nothing is going to happen and I'm going to have to go to hospital or something and people will find out!!!

Oh dear god what have I done!!!!
Bpas didn't even scan me, what if there is something wrong!!!

OP posts:
bornninthe80s · 26/08/2020 18:33

It took ages for me and I was freaking out as a friend recently went through similar and it took a weekend to complete. It can take 48 hours they say so please don't panic - I know easy for me to say but I was there just two days ago xx

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 18:35

@bornninthe80s ok ill give it a few more hours?
I mean I'm still having pains so it must be working?
Thank you xxx

OP posts:
bornninthe80s · 26/08/2020 18:35

Oh and move around, they say that helps get things going and it did for me. And sit on the loo and flush without looking if you need to xx

bornninthe80s · 26/08/2020 18:36

Willing to talk about it anytime @hillarypcof 💜 I also really struggled with this, especially not knowing if I would go through with it or not so happy to speak very honestly! MN has been a big saviour for me x

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 18:37

I've been pottering about but I'm too scared to move too much 😫

OP posts:
bornninthe80s · 26/08/2020 18:39

Don't be afraid to sit on the loo - I preferred that as would rather not see the clots in the sanitary pads. I know your tweens are downstairs but do try move around upstairs to get gravity helping. I was SO terrified when the pain started but it was honestly, honestly fine xx

bornninthe80s · 26/08/2020 18:41

So was I but it helped. Plus you don't get massive gushes of blood or anything, it's totally manageable. Take some deep breaths Thanks

ohdoriswheresthesalad · 26/08/2020 18:52

@hillarypcof @bornninthe80s
I've just had a call back from a nurse, she said if I'd had no bleeding by 2pm tomorrow then I need to phone back, but the pains are a sign it's working. I've got to "be patient". That's all well and good my love but I've never wanted something to happen so much and it not to happen at the same time! I'm gonna potter about now for an hour see you what happens. Thank you so much for being here 💜 x
