found it katy thanks
I'll re-post my last message just incase-

welcome bonbon wouldn't read too much into superstition, there is so many wives tale out there, fun to keep guessing though! we aren't finding out the sex I think you can only find out from 15 weeks onwards though x

KFW · 11/05/2010 14:04

Hi ladies!

I havent posted on here for a while. I am so sorry to hear about those of you feeling rough. I was feeling much, much better but have had a couple of days of nausea recently. Nothing like as bad as some of you though. Sending positive vibes your way...

I just thought I would share with you the most amazing treat (for those of you who are not feeling sick that is!). I just had a millefeuille chocolat from Paul. I died and went to heaven. Amazing. Lots and lots and lots of chocolate custard with pastry. Just realised when I finished that it may fall into at least one of the unpasterusied/partially cooked egg prohibitions, but never mind. It tasted very good

Exciting to hear from those of you who know the sex. My 20 week scan is not for another 4 weeks. I can hardly contain myself!

Hi everybody!! Took me 5 minutes to find this new thread!! mmm....WTF .... that chocolate custard ith pastry you mentioned... sounds delicious!!! Might have one now!!!
Glad to hear everybody is alright!! I'm having my second scan in three weeks and i can't wait!! I bought a doppler on ebay and i spend most of the time listening to the baby's heartbeat!! Amazing!

xx

FutureMum · 11/05/2010 16:04

Think someone else mentioned the other day they were having a boy, too, but at the moment it looks like a majority of girls are on their way!
This is the first week the bump is noticeable (and I just passed the 20 week scan, still with usual clothes). Am feeling a bit more tired (again) and a lot hungrier. Sometimes I get huge impulses to eat veg, sometimes carbohydrates (I feel like the baby is directing me by remote control on this) and if I don't eat enough for a few hours, I get one of those funny hormonal headaches.
KFW - I love Paul the patisserie, they are everywhere in France (and in some places in London). Their flan (custard set on pastry) is my fav dessert. Not being on chocolate (still), so will imagine this instead : )

AnnalisaJames · 11/05/2010 16:22

Hi everyone.
I'm new to Mumsnet. Well, to posting messages anyway!
I'm due on 10/10 - anyone else? Sorry if you've been through all this!
I am finding eating a bit a a pain, used to eat anything and not really be fussy but not can't seem to fancy any foods really - though I am hungry quite a bit. Got our 20wk scan on the 27th and will be finding out the sex if poss! Am excited to start shopping a little bit.
Hope to chat with you all soon.

RooBear · 11/05/2010 16:25

welcome annalisa i think a few re due on that date, if you can find the stats thread you can add yourself! I'm due on the 22nd its my first so very excited!

Katy86 · 11/05/2010 16:44

Welcome new people / welcome back returning people!
RooBear just to continue conversation re listening for heartbeats, what I meant was that some MWs will deliberately not even attempt to listen for it until later on in the pg, because better for mummies' worry levels to not try at all than to try and not find anything, iyswim.

RooBear · 11/05/2010 16:47

ah thanks jacks

Hevster · 11/05/2010 18:23

welcome back folks and hello to Annalisa good to see the thread getting busy again

JazzieJeff · 12/05/2010 08:56

Hiya, just found the new thread, not posted for ages because of job/house move driving me nuts so it's lovely to see the thread still here. It's crazy that people are finding out the sex already! It seems like a minute ago that we were all stamping our feet waiting for first scans!
I'm 18+3 at the moment and delaying the 20 week scan because DH is away with work for the next few weeks. The suspense is bloody killing me!
Finding it quite hard being alone at the moment; normally it wouldn't bother me, but I'm feeling at a really low ebb at the minute and can't stop worrying about every little thing Is anyone else having really horrible thoughts right now? I think most people get them when the baby is born, but I was driving along the other day and some idiot pulled out on me so I had to do an emergency stop. But as I was doing it I was thinking 'if that car crashes into me, I'm going to protect my bump like this...' WTF?! Seriously! I don't even have a credible bump, it just looks like I've been attacking the cheese and crackers with increasing vengeance!
Hope anyone who is feeling poorly is getting better now and KATY86; 10.10.10 is the best due date ever! I'm due on the 11th but I swear down I'm going to smash in a Vindaloo if it kills me on the 9th lol!

babybunting2010 · 12/05/2010 09:29

Morning all, Have been terribel and haven't posted in ages. Think things have been getting on top of me a bit at the moment! Feeling more and more dumpy and yucky looking, have always battled with weight, not badly but fluctuate between a size 10 and a size 16, which seems to have given my sisters the right to witter on about not putting on too much weight during pregnancy etc... so a little fed up and feeling ugly!

Can't wait for 20 week scan on the 24th and can't wait to find out if it's a girl or boy! SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! when I first fell pregnant we really wanted a boy, now I am desperate to have a girl, I guess I will be happy as larry either way to know it's ok as haven't felt any movements etc... for a while, but not reading into it as the flutterings could well have been wind or something.

Anyway just wanted to say hey, was lovely catching up on everyones messages! And I will try and keep in touch more regularly!

Jacksmybaby · 12/05/2010 09:46

Hey babybunting sorry you have been feeling down. FWIW IME you do tend to feel better about the whole weight thing the more pg you get, i.e. the more you get a proper sticky-out pg bump and you stop looking just tubby!

Would your finances allow you to treat yourself to some nice, flattering maternity clothes or even something like a pg massage, as a pick-me-up?

People ALWAYS have an opinion about your weight during pg, if you can just smile and IGNORE!

Looks like the week of 24-28th is going to be a busy one for the sonographers - can't wait to hear everyone's scan news and esp the gender announcements!

babybunting2010 · 12/05/2010 09:57

Thanks Jacks! Yeah maybe a nice massage might do me a world of good! That's a great idea thanks! xxx

Hevster · 12/05/2010 10:44

babybunting sorry you feel shitty, tis horrible having to give your body up to someone else, specially when people comment on your weight. def do something to cheer yourself up - i bought a really massive and rather dramatic hat yesterday for my sisters wedding to distract people from looking at my body on the day (will be 6 months).
Jazziejeff welcome back - i had the horrible thoughts last time but haven't had them this time yet.

has anyone else found they have kind of spread (got fatter) around the hips and waist coz i have despite HG and it's not a good look?

Jacksmybaby · 12/05/2010 13:22

Hevster same here. Thighs and "muffin tops" gone all chubby & wobbly despite me not actually having put on weight. I was doing regular exercise and generally being pretty active before being pg though, which has obviously all gone out the window, so that accounts for it. Sigh.
How are you doing with the puking, btw? Starting to feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel here, don't want to speak too soon though!

Hevster · 12/05/2010 13:31

Jacks thank goodness it's not just me (again! have gone from running 10k to nothing!) am not puking now taking the cyclizine first thing as per your top suggestion, still feel really sick in the afternoons but only when i eat anything. Don't feel as knackered as last week but then not working so..... How about you, is it the cyclizine and working from home or do you think you might be over the worst?

Daynee · 12/05/2010 13:41

Hi ladies! Welcome Annalisa - Like Katy, my due date is also 10-10-10. I wonder if any of us will actually give birth on that day!
I'm so darn impatient...Can't wait until the 20th when we find out the sex!Believe you me - I'm going to buy cute little clothes and nobody can stop me!
babybunting - I put on 13 pounds so far, and my mom keeps saying how I need to be careful and I'm gaining too much and yadda yadda - but I'm still a size 4, so this really annoys me - like cut me some slack!

So I'm nearly 19 weeks and still don't feel anything moving but my bump is getting harder . Still not that big though...

piesey · 12/05/2010 17:01

Hi everyone

Hope those of you not feeling well are feeling better. I'ce been off work today as I caught a stomach bug - just when my morning sickness had got better! It's been awful and I feel pretty weak but I'm keeping food down now so that's a bonus.

It seems like ages away until my scan which is in about 5 weeks but I do have my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow so I'm glad I'll be better enough to go to that.

I've got a bump but look more like I've pigged out on pies than actually pregnant!

Hevster · 12/05/2010 20:38

piesey good luck with the MW apt tomorrow and sorry you've had a bug, it's taking the piss to get sick when your morning sickness has just finished!

FutureMum · 13/05/2010 08:59

Having a bad time. Just found out yesterday my role is being made redundant (among others), so half way through pg I will have to apply for internal jobs etc. Could do without all this stress! : (

Hevster · 13/05/2010 09:35

futuremum thats not good news you poor thing, last thing you need when pg. if you need to destress on line then you know where we are!

Jacksmybaby · 13/05/2010 09:59

Oh no FutureMum! That must be so stressful. If it's any consolation, being pg you will be given priority for alternative roles.

Hevster, re sickness, am feeling that the combination of 1) cyclizine 2) WFH and 3) DH doing way more than his fair share with DS and house stuff, is keeping me just about ok ATM. Trying not to think about what will happen when/if one or more of those things is taken away!

Off to the hospital now to get my thyroid blood tests done... it's one of those turn up and wait in a queue systems, last time I was there 2 hours ! Oh well...
