babybunting2010 · 21/05/2010 08:55

Morning all and welcome bebo... Hevster... I hear you with the not fancying food thing, am normally such a big eater but just don't fancy anything... Have to force myself to eat.

Jazzie... bet you look gorgeous!!! Sounds like a really nice outfit Bless you. At least you don't have to pay for stuff.

I keep waking up having rolled over on to my belly, so have ordered a pillow... Hang on I'll get the link...direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-2542.aspx looks really comfortable. It's meant to arrive today so will let you know if I slept well on Monday!

Jacks.... Tell your DS I'll marry him... what a poppet! Can't wait for my baby to say things like that!

I am soooo excited about my scan Monday, has meant this week has gone really slowly!

Heres to a lovely weekend... Enjoy ladies... and remember if you have a bar b q to be careful with the meat!

jazzie that outfit sounds delightful. You poor thing! Although I am into comfort. I am thinking I might find it difficult to leave the elasticated waistband after pregnancy. So comfy . I mentioned it jokingly to DH and he got quite worried about it. I think I am going to wind him up a bit.

Off to find that almond croissant now. Thanks for the tip!

Happy sunshine vibes to everyone. Looks like an amazing day. Let's hope it lasts through the weekend!

afternoon, welcome bebo thanks for the reassurance ref. the stretching thing, I'm so happy today as I've managed to fit into a dress I've had since I was sixteen! (it has no zips or anything just a gathered stretchy bit underneath the bust incase you were thinking otherwise!)

Daynee · 21/05/2010 13:35

Hi Bebo Anyone have an extra almond croissant?

So.....It's a GIRL ...Scarlett Rose!

Surprisingly, she was very active but I still don't feel her move that much .
Can't wait to buy her a onesie!!

Jacksmybaby · 21/05/2010 13:36

Ooooh YAY!! Congrats Daynee!!!!!!

DillyDora · 21/05/2010 13:42

Yay Daynee! Love the name - also v reassuring that she's zooming about even though you don't feel her.

Soooooo wanting a girl!

shelly38 · 21/05/2010 14:01

Hello fellow October ladies!
Have just joined mumsnet and read through this thread.
I'm having my first baby, due 11/10/10.
I have my anomaly scan next Thursday so looking forward to finding out the sex.
Hope to get to know you all over the coming months.

Shelly

Jacksmybaby · 21/05/2010 14:05

Hi shelly, welcome.

Lots of us are having our scans next week too (mine is Friday)! Very exciting times...

Must return now to this thread which I am absolutely glued to... better than any soap opera!

DillyDora · 21/05/2010 14:10

jacks I looked at that thread briefly - can't look, it's too awful, reading through my fingers, from behind the sofa, making a noise like this 'eeeeeeeeeeeh' squinched up in a ball, rocking.... Argh!

Dixiebell · 21/05/2010 14:12

Hello everyone

Going back to the movement issue, I'm 21 + 5 now (so not technically October EDD, but I'm squatting on this board anyway!), and can say that 'clicking in the diaphragm' sounds exactly like what the movements feel like at first. I likened mine to a twitching nerve at first, and easily mistaken for gas bubbles. Now have got much bigger, and DH felt for first time last night. But weird to have scan earlier this week and see it moving but not feeling it all. Also mine have been very on/off - felt first at about 17 wks, then sometimes nothing at all for days on end. Wouldn't worry at all about movements until much later.

Btw, I'm also squatting on a September thread somewhere, and they had the idea of signing off posts with number of weeks gone - what do you reckon? It's quite a nice way of comparing how far along we all are as we read. So:

21 + 5

PatsyIsPreggers · 21/05/2010 14:31

I've got my scan next Thursday too Shelly. V excited . We were looking at the last scan pics last night, but that seems sooooo long ago I can't wait to see the little sproglet again!

Have felt no movements yet, but a lot of stretchy feelings over the last few days so like someone else said, hopefully the baby bubbly is stretching and it will soon start kicking me painfully in awkward places all the way through the night - don't really mean all of that, but you catch my drift - I just can't wait to feel the little blighter!

jacks had a look at that thread yesterday and can't believe it's still going so strong. It's unbelievable!

Congrats Daynee that's wonderful news!

Hope you've all got good plans for the weekend. We're off to a wedding and I'm completely baffled what I'm going to wear . Too tubby for all my pre-preg pretty dresses, but not quite big enough to look properly preggers in a maternity frock. Still if that's my biggest worry... Maybe if I eat a few more s this afternoon the maternity dresses will look better... - YUM!

Jacksmybaby · 21/05/2010 14:40

Patsy, I'm finding ATM that if I stick my tummy right OUT as far as it will go, so it makes a proper round bump shape, all my maternity wear actually looks a whole lot more flattering!

Ha jacks i just reviewed that post. You're right. V entertaining. Am now slightly self-conscious of the fact that I sometimes describe DH as 'hubby' though. I was laughing outloud at eleanorhandbasket's post which started off "vom vom vom at your whole post" until i got to the bit where she says 'hubby' is punch-worthy hope i havent offended anyone with the use of that word

Hee hee. The joys of watching other people wind each other up. Is it because of the hormones (theirs and ours!) that it is particularly brilliant reading?

PatsyIsPreggers · 21/05/2010 15:16

Good tip Jacks. will try sticking my tummy out tonight when I'm trying on my dresses.

I must be missing something KFW, cos I can't see anything wrong with 'hubby'. Wonder whether eleanorhandbasket uses 'My Lord Husband' or 'Sir' when referring to her DH?

Oh dear. Am I dragging this thread into the bitchiness of the other thread through association?

KFW · 21/05/2010 15:46

patsy page 4 I think on Thu 20-May-10 at 13:07:59 check it out!

i actually can't believe how entertaining that was. or how much of my friday afternoon i have wasted on it

i dont think we are in danger of being bitchy here. everyone seems to be friendly and grown up!

love you all

DillyDora · 21/05/2010 16:38

Ha ha yes patsy you are exposed as having a secret wish for bitchiness give the girl another glass of non-alcoholic wine!

Poor cow though the girl who started it, she was just feeling a bit rubbish and now look at all the vitriol!

Uff..more marking? Surely not.

I call my husband by his surname a lot of the time...ok now that looks odd now I've written it down.

Lorra love all

Hi Ladies and welcome to all the newbies who have joined since I last posted which was ages ago .

I havent been on here for a bit and I am still trying to catch up .....god you lot can yak!
Will try and keep up over the next few days now,was a bit hard this week as my Dad has been in hospital waiting for a vein bypass to be done on his leg to try and save his foot but at the last minute they decided to amputate his leg right up above his knee.I couldnt believe it,I knew there was always a chance of them doing it but it was still an almighty shock.
Dont know how he will cope really as he is 86 .I just cant see him ever getting used to a false limb or a wheelchair let alone managing at home on his own.Anyway we will see only time will tell.

Hope everyone is feeling well and coping in this heat .

I had my PCR results come through on Monday from my Amnio and they were all negative for Downs,Edwards and Pataus. So just waiting on the full results to arrive now ,another week or so to go.Still at least when they are through I shall know what we will be having.
Most people think I am having a girl but I cant even imagine that so I stick to saying its another lad .

xxxxx

MMooMar · 22/05/2010 19:06

Yes I too am peeved I missed out on that thread Katy86 sounds like I could`ve wasted some serious cleaning time on it lol.

FutureMum · 22/05/2010 19:54

Hi MooMar, sorry to hear about your dad's op, all I can say is that older people are a lot more resilient that we think sometimes, hope with help he gets used to his new circumstances.
Good luck with the rest of your results - why can't you imagine having a girl? Have you got several boys already?

Jacksmybaby · 24/05/2010 10:32

Sorry about your dad MMooMar .

Hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine this weekend, and hope all the scans go well this week, looking forward to hearing more gender news from people!
