Yeah - well done to BB's nephew, excellent work!

Jenko77 · 24/08/2010 14:05

Again, congratulations to BabyB's nephew. The exam results every year just make me feel more and more stupid - I passed 9 GCSEs and got 2 A's and I was chuffed to bits with that - now it seems anything less than straight A's or A*'s just isn't trying hard enough Confused.

Anyhoo, I'm in a much better mood today, having had a wonderful nights sleep last night (its been a while since that happened!). No leaky boobs here either - I hope they'll work when the time comes HmmBlush Does anyone know if there's any connection to pre-birth leakage and the ability to BF??

Today's only moan is that I am so hungry - I just want to eat everything in sight! Oh, what the hell, I am pregnant after all....

DillyDora · 24/08/2010 14:12

LOL Jenko I feel exactly the same about the exam results every year!

Nope, as far as I know there is no connection at all between leaky boobs and BFing.

Jeez, I weighed myself y'day when I saw the mw and I think we can safely say I've put on 8kg! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH! And still only 31 weeks...

RooBear · 24/08/2010 14:35

I was so proud of my B's and C's ! I'm always hungry jenko but have no idea how much I weigh as I don't own scales and haven't been weighed since my booking in appt.

I'm the other way yummy and bb I'm really going to miss my bump! I've never smoked and only drank at xmas and birthdays, never liked blue cheese or pate so pg hasn't really affected me!

YummyMummy1208 · 24/08/2010 14:35

DillyDora - 8kg is nothing! Iv put on 2 stone so far! and i have another 9 weeks left yet! :(

Although to be fair it is mostly bump and a teeny bit everywhere else and i did put on 3-4 stone last time and it went off me straight away so im not panicking too much. Howcome the midwife weighed you anyhow? thought they werent suposed to do that these days? glad she doesnt ask to weigh me!!

DillyDora · 24/08/2010 14:50

Ooh yummy that's encouraging that it all comes off. She doesn't weigh me, they never have, I just leap on the scales in the exam room when no one is looking Wink I have a real curiosity to know how much is going on.

I'm going to miss my bump too, very much, but it will be nice not to be sore and stiff and to be able to bend down again ...oh! and paint my toenails, do up my shoes...

YummyMummy1208 · 24/08/2010 15:41

...and shave my legs! Grin

I just miss being slim from a side view now! :( Iv been such a moaner this week, totally fed up and want baby out now.

I used to weigh myself on the Wii but got sick of seeing the BMI calculater zoom right up on the chart...nearly got into the 'Overweight' Category and lucky for me the batteries in the wii fit board ran out so now i just use normal scales. Grin

DillyDora · 24/08/2010 15:48

ha ha! Yes, my side view is really something! Especially with clothes on! I look like a ship in full sail!

yummy if it's any help (I know you've done all this before...) I had such a 'fed up with being pg' week last week and felt really crappy both physically and emotionally but it's really lifting now so maybe you'll perk up too?

Ooh, and on the subject of weight - here's odd - my Finnish friend is pg and in Finland all the dietary advice for pg women is about low fat this and low fat that! I don't eat low fat anything! Odd....

YummyMummy1208 · 24/08/2010 16:09

i see my reflection sometimes in the window in our office at work and do a double take forgetting im pregnant and then thinkin omg that is really me! - im huge! :(

Im sure this moan stage will wear off soon and then come back again for another few days. I think most women get to that wall around now where you just have had enough. From 37 wks i will be demanding my OH take me down the bumpy lane i swear started me off on my first labour! - it will be our daily trip down the bumpy road!

Thats odd re the Finnish thing, stuff low bloody fat! This is the only time i can actually eat almost whatever i like without worrying about it and i am going to milk it!

YummyMummy1208 · 24/08/2010 16:16

Ok strange one... baby has hiccups...

i can feel them in my pelvis as usual but belly jumps at the top slighly each time she hiccups aswell - so how is she lying??

Head up or down?? Confused

DillyDora · 24/08/2010 16:18

ooh, conundrum...yummy don't know... feeling them in the pelvis is head down right? Maybe her little feets are moving too!

I kind of felt like low fat might be bad for the baby, I may be being mental but I feel like full fat yoghurt (for e.g.) would be healthier somehow Hmm

YummyMummy1208 · 24/08/2010 16:24

well they do say all the nutrients babies who move on from formula need are in the full fat milk and things so yes i think you are right there somehow.

Im thinking head down (or hoping!) and the hiccups were making her jump a little and so her little feet/bum was jumping with them!

Had the biggest kick so far earlier - i swear her foot was going to pop out my side!

Hevster · 24/08/2010 18:16

Ooooh BabyB I share your thoughts re the smoking - gave up when I found out I was pregnant with DD and started again when she was 5 weeks Blush, gave up again this time the minute I found I was expecting and really don't want to start again but miss it like mad - I know it's a gross habit, expensive, bad for you and everything else but still miss it - will try harder not to this time though as it's such a waste to give up for 9 months and then start again.

babybunting2010 · 25/08/2010 08:51

Hev- I know exactly what you mean, it's a bit like I know I'm not going to smoke whilst I'm pregnant because I am really fussy about it! (Obviously this is a personal choice anyone who happens to still be smoking during pregnancy and I don't think anything less of anyone else!) But at the same time once I'm not pregnant anymore I am really hoping that I don't use it as an excuse to smoke again! Fingers crossed as I really don't want to smoke anymore!

Yummy- My LO's hiccups are the same feel it low down but the top of the tummy moves at the same time, think it's a bit like if we've got hiccups our whole body kind of judders if it's a big one!

Can't actually beleive it's only Wednesday, feels like it shoudl be Friday or something! :(

How is everyone else this fine morning?

x

babybunting2010 · 25/08/2010 08:55

Oh and on the subject of weight, I did get on the scales a couple of weeks ago, but decided against doing it again as I swear they said "one at a time please!" :)

Think I've put about 2 and a half stone on and as I wasn't a particularly small girl to start off with I now feel like a blimp! :(

But am just trying not to think about it until after the baby has arrived.

Is it a natural thing to be fed up being preggers, feel like it makes me a bad Mum! Especially when I hear people saying about how much they loved being pregnant, for me it's a means to an end!

xx

Jacksmybaby · 25/08/2010 09:55

DEFINITELY not a bad mum BB! I HATE being pg but adore my DS and know I will adore DC2 when she arrives too. Smile

KFW · 25/08/2010 10:47

Morning ladies

This hiccup chat is interesting. I felt hiccups at about 25 weeks, but havent felt them since. I feel left out! She seems to be more keen on karate than hiccups. It's not bad not to feel any is it? I am curious now because I can imagine that they feel quite strong with a proper big baby in there!

Re weight, I put on 12 kg some time ago and don't seem to have put any more on since. I was quite proud of my massive weight gain (I am normally such a wiener) and am a bit Confused as to why I havent put any more on in the last few weeks. Oh well, I seem to be expanding visually at least!

Re fed-up-ness: I hear you all !! I have a really sore lower back which is apparently sciatica Sad . I shouldn't complain as I have had it relatively easy thus far, but I do feel like an old woman now and the only thing that relieves it is lying down. Not ideal for work!

Have a good day.

YummyMummy1208 · 25/08/2010 11:21

Morning! Still fed up today and added to my moans is rib ache! :( dont know if that means i have an active baby or a big baby as i didnt get rib ache last time but who knows!

Glad to hear it babybunting2010 - dont worry about any of it until baby is here, then we can hit the gym - or not! Wink

Hevster · 25/08/2010 11:42

Def a means to an end - hate being pregnant more than almost anything else. When I had DD I woke up every day for nearly a year and my first thought was hurrah am not pregnant!

banging headache today Sad

babybunting2010 · 25/08/2010 12:20

That's ok then, glad I'm not destined to be a bad Mum (Not yet anyway!) Have had enough today can't focus on anything (Not that I normally can or anything but hey!)

Little one been moving round like MAD this morning, was actually really hurting my side as felt like my skin was being stretched to the absolute maximum!

So was thinking we've only got 30 more spaces on this thread, therefore we need the next thread to be a cross between antenatal and post natal, any suggestions?

x

DillyDora · 25/08/2010 12:41

Oooh, sorry to poorly ladies! I am enjoying being pg less now than I was, I have to say, I get really mardy about it too (like this bleddy wedding this w/e grumble grumble) I was so sore in the night, sore hips, sore pelvis - aaargh! I feel like the princess and the pea.

Re smoking, I gave up about 12 years ago and STILL miss it sometimes. Mad isn't it?

Saartjie · 25/08/2010 14:38

Watching removal men moving all our stuff out of the house. Very surreal. Flying tomorrow, excited but stressed.

I have never felt the hickups, sounds like fun though.

I also gave up smoking when I found out I was pregnant. Miss it now and then but hope that I will be able to stay away from it once the little one has arrived.

Anyway, please let me know where this thread will continue. I will be off line now for a while until I am settled in SA so need to know where to find you all.

YummyMummy1208 · 25/08/2010 14:49

Little one is moving around so much today, its hard work trying to get to my keyboard at work without her kicking around for more room! Im quite worried at how active she is compared to my DS, she's violent too!

DillyDora · 25/08/2010 14:54

Ooooh! Saartje! Very exciting, have a good trip, a smooth transition and we'll hear from you soon.

Tobes has hiccups again and is wobbling about (trying to get away from them?) making me burp! Nice!

YummyMummy1208 · 25/08/2010 16:11

Good luck Saartjie with the move! How exciting!

Hiccups again aswell over here DillyDora ! Bless them.

Anyone started/planning on writing a birth plan yet? I did a huge one first time round but none of it actually happened so think ill opt for a more 'shorter' version this time!
