Who’s more likely to be the dad? (Mortified)

I want to preface by saying I’m mortified. I’m 30, single and never had a scare in my life. I have severe endometriosis, PCOS and a blocked tube and was told I’d never carry a child naturally. Was even with a partner for seven years previously and used nothing- nothing happened so thought I was infertile.

Ive been single for 4 years, recently lost a lot of weight (7 stone) and was feeling really attractive. Had my period on 29th May, my periods are 35-45 days. Usually around 40

I went to a conference and slept with my colleague on the 2nd June, so 4 days after my period ended. I then also slept with someone on a first date on the 13th June.

I’ve now found out I’m pregnant (yesterday) and pretty much in shock. I don’t know when I ovulate and my cycles are so irregular I have zero idea. I’m 7 weeks ish, going from my last period but didn’t even test until yesterday as I’m used to 42 day cycles.

i think I want to keep the baby, I own my own home and have a good job but I also don’t know how to approach it with these two people. Colleague will obviously be much more difficult, but meh! Nightmare! Feel like a slag too, it was my first month having sex in four years! I also don’t want them both to be mad but guessing they will.

The first date I’d think as surely the colleague was too close to your period? I’m absolutely no expert though!

Congratulations! What a shock after thinking you can’t conceive.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 16/07/2025 18:01

Probably the first date guy

staybyyou · 16/07/2025 18:01

Highly likely that it’s the guy from the ONS on the 13th June. Congratulations! It will all work out.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 16/07/2025 18:02

The second one I think? That sounds closer to the middle of your cycle

BestIntentioned · 16/07/2025 18:02

My first thought is to say Congratulations! 🎉 You seem to be pleased?
surely it’s the 12 June guy? Considering the length of your cycle ..

BestIntentioned · 16/07/2025 18:03

Also Well Done on losing 7st! That’s an enormous achievement. x

ButteredRadish · 16/07/2025 18:06

The second guy. For a 28 day cycle, you ovulate 14 days after the first day of your period. Adjust by a few days for your longer cycle.

Shakirasma · 16/07/2025 18:09

It will be the ONS.
Congratulations on your weight loss and pregnancy.
You are absolutely not a slag!
Please stop having unprotected sex, you can get far more worse things than pregnant.

Coconutter24 · 16/07/2025 18:10

I would think the second guy because of the length of your cycle. Were both times unprotected? If it was then have you taken an sti test?

DecemberBabe · 16/07/2025 18:18

I think it's more likely the second guy buuuut you can ovulate early (literally right after period ends).
So the only real way of knowing is dna testing.
Edit - how long are your periods actually because 4 days after period ended, if your period is 4-5 days and sperm lives 5 days could very easily take you up to ovulation date. So it could be the first guy. Confused

Rycbar · 16/07/2025 18:24

Without knowing your cycle it’s hard to say absolutely definitely- however, if you ovulate around the first guy (colleague) that would make your luteal phase insanely long! Not impossible with PCOS but all signs do seem to point to the first date man!

FlamingoFloss · 16/07/2025 18:28

Firstly, please don’t beat yourself up. You’re a women with needs and that certainly does not make you a slag. The only thing I’d say is that you absolutely should be using something ( protecting yourself against STD’s). You do need to get an STD test to ensure you and baby are ok.

secondly, congratulations!!! No reason you can’t do this one.

however, the father goes have a right to know

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 16/07/2025 18:30

@Expensiveplates why do you want to tell them then???

AwkwardPaws27 · 16/07/2025 18:32

An early scan might give you an idea of when you conceived?

Usernamenotavailable19 · 16/07/2025 18:32

You’ll only know for sure if you do a DNA test

My cycle is 33-40 days but I'm pregnant after conceiving between the 9-13th day of my cycle so it's not impossible!
Human bodies are weird.

I wondered about that too!

AlligatorTears · 16/07/2025 18:41

Did you use protection with either of them? That could help narrow it down too.

MNpenisadvisor · 16/07/2025 18:47

You can get a blood DNA test whilst pregnant but it's pricey if that'll help.

New2you · 16/07/2025 18:50

13th June guy

notatinydancer · 16/07/2025 18:50

I think second one (first date ).
Have you seen him since ?
Have you got his details , I think he needs to know.

MidnightPatrol · 16/07/2025 18:56

I agree the second is the most likely.

You’ll need to be talking to the colleague too though…!

Dufff23 · 16/07/2025 18:57

Another one who thinks it would be really hard to say for sure without a dna test down the line when there’s no risk to the baby - but if I had an unlikely chance of having another one, I’d go ahead too, congratulations! The men are well old enough to know what can happen if you have sex.

DandyDenimScroller · 16/07/2025 19:31

No one can guarantee a correct answer on here. Only dna. Good luck 👍 xx

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 16/07/2025 19:36

Most likely to be the second guy.
