hey! Following from my last post, the doctor expects I will continue to bleed or might have another gush of bleeding. We have our next scan in less than 2 weeks, hopefully the bruise will have shrunk by then.

on the positive side, baby was 4.2cm already, I’m now comparing with the photo from my first pregnancy and checking the scull/nub theories haha need something lighthearted after this absolute rollercoaster of emotions

I hope you're feeling more reassured. 💓

I'm finding this first trimester to be so tough, time feels like it's going so slowly.

@MyGardenDaisies what a frightening time for you!! I’m so pleased little one is staying put though! Must have been such a relief.

if someone could please send a link for what’s app group, I might not be too active in it until after my next scan though.
symptoms are very hit and miss at the moment. Seemed to have swapped nausea for hunger, spots and peeing every 10mins!

MyGardenDaisies · 21/02/2025 21:42

@chicke09 @MrsH26 yes, such a relief and felt really reassured.
I was shocked that apparently this is a very common thing, even large hematomas like what I’ve got.
I had never heard of this before and this is my 2nd pregnancy.

Melusina123 · 22/02/2025 13:53

@MyGardenDaisies so scary. I had a SCH in my successful pregnancy, but never a gush of blood like that! At least you got another scan out of it?

ThatSnugSwan · 22/02/2025 18:24

@MyGardenDaisies Sounds like a scary time but happy to read your little bubs is doing good 😁
Currently 10 weeks now, time is dragging so much and I'm wishing it away till my 12 week scan. I did have an early scan due to pains at 7 weeks but it wasnt a pleasant experience after an 8 hour wait in a&e it was all so rushed and I was so upset and exhausted.
I dont have much symptoms apart from very bloated and gassy. I was the same on my other two children but after a loss I'm paranoid and so worried all the time I would even be happy to be sick or off food just for some reassurance

Chellooo · 22/02/2025 19:51

Just placemarking as I had a slight panic when I saw the old thread hit its limit and a new one hadn't been set up 😂
12 weeks tomorrow! Praying the nausea starts to ease off soon 🫠

AMMxx · 23/02/2025 05:38

Could someone invite me to the WhatsApp group please?

Lower back pain has returned today which is annoying. Also still very congested and have resorted to using nasal sprays to be able to breathe. Praying they don’t stop working before the baby is here… Can’t say I feel the “pregnancy glow” at the moment 😅

MyGardenDaisies · 23/02/2025 07:33

@ThatSnugSwan thabk you x

@Melusina123 no, I have my dating scan soon and this does not pose a risk to pregnancy due to how far we are already.

Melusina123 · 23/02/2025 08:03

Oh @MyGardenDaisies I thought you said on the other thread you'd had another scan.

@AMMxx which nasal sprays are you using? Warning that some of them can cause rebound rhinitis if you use them for too long... (sadly those are the ones I love the best). I also thought a lot of them were advised against in pregnancy?

I'm now 12wks. Scan on Tuesday!

sunshineandrain82 · 23/02/2025 08:30

Hay I have just found this thread. I'll be 12 weeks on Wednesday with baby number 4. (5th child in our household though)

Complete surprise as we didn't intend to have any more as our eldest is 18 this year youngest has just turned 5. And 2 of of the children are high needs SEN

Over the initial panic of what we are going to do.. mostly because I cleared anything baby related out last year (though I was smart enough to keep my trusted bugaboo 🎉) and knowing I have a history of complications after labour that results in theatre... perhaps I should see that as a mini break as I get a 2-3 day stay for the trouble.

AMMxx · 23/02/2025 08:38

@Melusina123 I use otrivin at night, I literally cannot breathe / sleep without it 😩 My doctor said I can use it if I have to, whilst it’s not ideal there isn’t actually any evidence that it is harmful in a pregnancy and also the dose is very small and localised when using a spray. I do try to limit it as much as possible just in case!

MyGardenDaisies · 23/02/2025 09:12

@Melusina123 ah I see what you mean. Yes they had to scan to see cause of bleeding.
but for having a hematoma there’s no extra scans or monitoring.

Melusina123 · 23/02/2025 12:16

@AMMxx that's good to know! I got incredibly blocked up towards the end last time.

Happysunshine1 · 23/02/2025 15:50

Hi Everyone 👋
Thanks for starting this new thread. I'd been following the other one and had been refreshing it without realising it had hit the maximum replies.
I'm just over 9wks with 2nd. We had a MC in December and this pregnancy has followed striaght after which has been both amazing and quite nerve wracking.
Just to say, this week I freaked out as I lost all my symptoms for a day or two. Long story short is they scanned me (as I had cramps too) and all was fine. They said its common to lose symptoms for a bit and them then either come back or not...so just sharing in case this helps anyone.
Please can I join the whatsapp?
X

MrsH26 · 23/02/2025 15:58

@Happysunshine1
and then those symptoms come back and bite your ass! I was feeling a little smug I’d had a couple of days of hunger and no nausea.
until I was up all night, last night 🤢🤢
Evenings and night times are the worst!

Sorry to hear you had bleeding! Hope all continues to go well for you ❤️

Happysunshine1 · 23/02/2025 16:00

Haha yes! The day they came back they came back with a vengeance, as if to make a point! :)
Yes I'm the same - worst nausea from 3pm til midnight, so definitely not 'mornings!' X

Melusina123 · 24/02/2025 05:16

@2U2 @Ncl31 @TTCJJB there are a few of us who would like to join the WhatsApp now we're at/around 12 wks and PMs are currently disabled - might it be possible to temporarily create a new join link/set the group back to public for a week or so?

jalapen0 · 24/02/2025 08:01

Morning. I’ve not been particularly active since the early days of the first Sept board - blaming general anxiety and feeling pretty awful! Hope everyone is starting to feel a bit better!

Mad to say I’m 12 weeks today and scan is on Thursday! Would be great to join the WhatsApp group if possible too 🙂

Fluffydino21 · 24/02/2025 10:03

Thank you for setting up a new thread!

I feel SO unwell today and I'm already really behind with work 😩 just need a place to complain as I think DP and my mam are probably sick of me saying it!

I had a private scan and my NIPT yesterday and all looked good and was lovely to see the baby moving around. It looks like I might be a bit further ahead than I thought so closer to 11 weeks. They said that my placenta still hadn't fully taken over though so maybe that's why I'm still unwell. Bit scared waiting for the NIPT results..

thismotherhoodthing · 24/02/2025 11:54

@Fluffydino21 complain away! You have to let it out, it's the only way.

I'm 13+3 today and feeling very marginally less horrific, but still lots of sickness and nausea .

I joined the WhatsApp group a while ago but unfortunately had to leave as it was extremely active which was fab but I was using my phone a lot for work and all the message notifications actions kept popping up and I was paranoid someone would see it. I tried to mute the notifications but it just wouldn't work

Where are people based, is anyone in the north?

thismotherhoodthing · 24/02/2025 11:55

Also, feeling quite nervous about NIPT results now, NT at my scan was 1.7 which is average I think but had NIPT on the same day so hoping for results some time this week.

MyGardenDaisies · 24/02/2025 12:56

Hey! 11+3, got the first screening next week. Hopefully all will be very low risk.

I am still processing what happened, feeling tired and nauseous.

Happysunshine1 · 24/02/2025 13:09

Hi everyone
Just a thought - for my son, off the back of a similar mumsnet group, we started a Facebook group. It is still active now and it worked quite well as you didn't have loads of notifications if you preferred not too, but it is there to look at when you wish. Also, it means conversations are grouped in threads, so if someone's asking about sleep in one post for example, then all the replies can go beneath it, but at the same time there's other posts too, again all grouped so you can search and get back to them easily.
Just an idea - people may prefer whatsapp - maybe we could have both? X
