Hi everyone
Just a thought - for my son, off the back of a similar mumsnet group, we started a Facebook group. It is still active now and it worked quite well as you didn't have loads of notifications if you preferred not too, but it is there to look at when you wish. Also, it means conversations are grouped in threads, so if someone's asking about sleep in one post for example, then all the replies can go beneath it, but at the same time there's other posts too, again all grouped so you can search and get back to them easily.
Just an idea - people may prefer whatsapp - maybe we could have both? X

I would be keen on a Facebook group! Is anyone willing to set it up?

Hi!

Congratulations to you all!

Can I join in? I had 13 unexplained miscarriages before 10 weeks then a healthy DD who is 2 in May. Another miscarriage last August and now I'm 11 weeks 1 day today, I had a private scan and baby looks great. I have my 12 week scan next Thursday ☺️

@Fluffydino21 complain away! You have to let it out, it's the only way.

I'm 13+3 today and feeling very marginally less horrific, but still lots of sickness and nausea .

I joined the WhatsApp group a while ago but unfortunately had to leave as it was extremely active which was fab but I was using my phone a lot for work and all the message notifications actions kept popping up and I was paranoid someone would see it. I tried to mute the notifications but it just wouldn't work

Where are people based, is anyone in the north?

I’m north based. in Newcastle. What about you?

thismotherhoodthing · 24/02/2025 19:36

@Fluffydino21 me too! 😃

I hope you're feeling more reassured. 💓

I'm finding this first trimester to be so tough, time feels like it's going so slowly.

Me too!

thismotherhoodthing · 24/02/2025 19:36

@Fluffydino21 me too! 😃

No way! Are you under the RVI as well??

Im still having issues getting my 12 week scan appointment.. I’ve read online that the RVI are quite bad for this but useful to hear if other people are having better experiences at the moment.

TTCJJB · 24/02/2025 21:00

Melusina123 · 24/02/2025 05:16

@2U2 @Ncl31 @TTCJJB there are a few of us who would like to join the WhatsApp now we're at/around 12 wks and PMs are currently disabled - might it be possible to temporarily create a new join link/set the group back to public for a week or so?

Edited

Hi, I'm really sorry but it as decided that the group should be made private a while ago due to the large number of people in there and people sharing sensitive or personal info.

If there's a few of you it might be worth setting up a second one? Or a Facebook group?

thismotherhoodthing · 24/02/2025 21:25

@Fluffydino21 I am, and was for my last pregnancy as well. Well, the latter half of it as we moved mid way through. I got my appointment through without any issues, although it's all just on the app. I'd defo try and call the hospital if you can! They might have scheduled you an appointment, but you just haven't received it . But worth checking.

sunshineandrain82 · 25/02/2025 11:53

@Fluffydino21
If you're having issues with scans keep chasing as there's crucial deadlines.

With my last child I had my 20 week scan at 11.49pm on a Sunday.. because they forgot and some of the crucial measurements they need has to be done by 21 weeks otherwise they can't take them after that.

sunshineandrain82 · 25/02/2025 11:54

I was obviously turning 21 weeks the next day.. hence the very late scan

Good to hear you had a positive experience! I was really torn between RVI and cramlington. Hospital has an automated message saying not to bother them until 11 weeks which is in a couple of days officially.. although on my private scans im measuring half a week ahead. Can I ask how much notice you got of your appointment? The midwife said to only expect a couple of days!

Happysunshine1 · 25/02/2025 12:12

Hi All
Happy to set up another WhatsApp if helpful. We can then see how people feel about Facebook.
I'll have a go at the whatsapp and see if I can do it! :) x

Happysunshine1 · 25/02/2025 12:13

Ah I need at least someone's number to set up a WhatsApp. If someone whod like to join can please PM me their number, I'll then have another go. Thanks x

1smallhamsterfoot · 25/02/2025 12:27

Hi all 👋🏻

thismotherhoodthing · 25/02/2025 12:58

@Fluffydino21 I was too but I decided to go with RVI for my scans as if you go with Cramlington the scans are in North Shields which is a bit far for me. You can change later I think (according to my midwife anyway). Cramlington has all private rooms I think but I think they are also becoming very busy. I gave birth at the RVI birthing centre last time so had a private room, it closed for a while but has reopened again recently. I used the birthing pool last time so really wanted that again. I got my appointment quite quickly after my booking in appointment which was around 8/9 weeks. I'd definitely chase band on 11 weeks!

PMs are currently disabled... Is there anyone you could invite temporarily to get the group set up and then kick out, eg your partner? 😂 I'd be keen to join but idk how to get you my #!

12wk scan today - it went well!

Fingers crossed @Fluffydino21 @thismotherhoodthing for your NIPT results!

thismotherhoodthing · 25/02/2025 13:23

@Melusina123 so glad your scan was ok! I'm hoping the NIPT comes back quickly I feel like it's hanging over me a bit

Melusina123 · 25/02/2025 13:33

@thismotherhoodthing how long will it be? I went for the one they said would be 2-5 days and then didn’t hear anything until day 5 at 2pm… I was going out of my mind. 😅

They said up to a week! I had it on Friday so they said I should hear back by Thursday. I just wish I had done it a little earlier so I could relax a bit after the scan - not that you ever really relax!

Fluffydino21 · 25/02/2025 14:44

Thank you @Melusina123 !

I don't know if every company is the same but they said if there was a problem they'd call and if it was good news / low risk they just email. But I really hate that! Now every time the phone rings I feel sick for a second. I wish they just called everyone with the news whether it was good or bad.

Melusina123 · 25/02/2025 14:45

@Fluffydino21 my lot rings everyone, I guess for that reason! But I got to wishing they’d just send me the damn report. So maybe a no-win situation!

@thismotherhoodthing only a few more (looooong) days then!

sunshineandrain82 · 25/02/2025 14:48

I have my scan and NIPT on Saturday. But I have to wait till my next midwife appointment end of march for the results. Our results go to the midwife who will tell us at the 16 week appointment and will get the report then.

MyGardenDaisies · 25/02/2025 15:53

Where I am, the 12 week screening results come via post about 1-2 weeks after the scan and blood test.
they only ring if something is high risk.

MyGardenDaisies · 25/02/2025 15:56

I’m 11+4 and feeling very hungry. Luckily in this pregnancy I crave a lot of vegetables! Been roasting loads of parsnips and sautéing tenderstem broccoli 🤣

has anyone else got cravings?

Scarftown · 25/02/2025 16:35

I'm up for a Facebook group if anyone is setting it up. I can't keep up with the WhatsApp! I'm happy to try but I won't get around to it til tomorrow.

I had my 12 week scan today and such a relief that all is looking good at this stage. I'm actually 13 weeks so due date is 2nd Sept. My only current concern is that didn't move much or look like there was much room. But I suppose everyone needs something to worry about.
