Just going from the last thread and wanting to sit on the sofa all weekend, my reality has just hit that we're going away on Sunday and that requires walking and putting on make up. Sos x

Livingonhope · 10/10/2024 14:27

joining the gang! due 31st March!!! I feel like tiredness has hit me again today keep falling asleep no idea what that's about!

IMBCRound2 · 10/10/2024 15:37

Honestly the tiredness is something else - I was back on track with feeling energy, got a cold that lasted the weekend and I’m totally knocked out…. But then I go to bed and the insomnia is starting to kick in.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconutss · 11/10/2024 08:30

Making my place on new thread, have NC recently but was TTC#2 or similar.

dancingfairy1 · 11/10/2024 09:01

Anyone else getting lots of cramping or growing pains around 16-17w? It feels like I’m also having braxton hicks at the same time and they feel like what they did in third trimester with my first! It could just be bub moving but I have an anterior placenta so doubtful I would feel this much this early
on.

GlitteringCat · 11/10/2024 12:07

Does anyone know what the deal is with raw eggs that aren’t red lion but in food?
I’m currently abroad so no red lion eggs and food I keep getting on the menu when I google how it’s made so much has raw egg in! I’m getting a bit anxious to eat now because so much has egg in that’s either raw or not fully cooked but don’t know if being in a dish is different to having it poached etc. I managed to find out for one sauce if the egg was pasteurised but it was an ordeal to get the answer.

Lulub94 · 11/10/2024 12:31

@dancingfairy1 yes I'm 17+4 and have had lots of cramping pains recently and some pelvic pain also. Feel like baby has now moved up out of my pelvis and I am showing a lot more so think its all the moving and stretching associated with that!

PlumpHobbit · 11/10/2024 19:27

Thanks for the new thread

Is it bad we still haven't had sex since I've been pregnant? First I was feeling nauseous now I'm just so freaking tired I can't even sum up the willpower to move never mind anything more?

26dX · 11/10/2024 20:52

@PlumpHobbit no 😂 there's been the odd few times but between a three year old, feeling sick and going to bed at like 8pm I just cannot deal with the thought right now 🤷🏽‍♀️😂😂😂

ChristmasJumpers · 12/10/2024 11:56

@PlumpHobbit right there with you. A toddler, sickness and now pelvic pain. I don't actually know if it will happen during pregnancy at all!!

m00ngirl · 12/10/2024 14:59

Thanks for new thread @Zuzu2020

Anyone else got low immunity since being pregnant? Am taking a multi vit most days and sometimes having extra vit c. But I keep getting horrible colds 😔

LV1987 · 12/10/2024 15:09

Thank you for the new thread@Zuzu2020

@ChristmasJumpers and @PlumpHobbit we've not had sex since before starting the IVF round that brought us here 🤦‍♀️ I'm too tired, and I think he's quite anxious at the idea of it given all we've been through to get here. I'm hoping we will both get past it soon, as I miss him 😩

@IMBCRound2 I'd take the bum bullets everyday for the rest of my life to have been given this chance. I feel so grateful that at times I feel awkward for not loving every second of it. It's so conflicting! ❤️

I know- I promised this time round I wouldn’t spend my first trimester wishing it away for the reassurance of the second but it was so hard !! It’s just unbelievable to me!

After many failed rounds, I went to an ancient fertility site because everything else had failed - I got pregnant the next round! I go back every year with her to say thank you . I went right before this transfer and it worked again and I had a right good sob the other day thinking that now I’ll be going back with double gratitude .

With our first, hubby refused as he wasn’t comfortable but we still had lots of cuddles and kisses and to be fair, I didn’t really miss it till third trimester because I was so tired and my sex drive had disappeared. It didn’t come back till months postpartum! He was a saint for being so patient.

Paternity leave question (UK) for anyone who has done this before - info says it starts after birth but what about during labour? Can you trigger it when you go into labour rather than birth (what if I'm labouring for days)? He's a teacher so can't use holiday days to take extra days off. Thanks

PlumpHobbit · 14/10/2024 17:23

Does anyone use a home blood pressure monitor?

Am 18 weeks and had to leave work today because a pounding headache suddenly came on, I'm not sure if it was the office lights (I struggle with them at the best of times and usually turn the ones above me off but didn't realise until an hour or 2 in they were on). Or I've picked something up DH picked up going into the office/London last week but no other symptoms

My mum is scaring me re need to get BP checked and I do know about pre eclampsia however I'm in the process of moving doctors because my old ones (that I'd kept as right by the office so great for middle of the day appointments) found out I changed my address so have given me 30 days to move

Obviously if I do it and it was high I'd be on the phone to midwife triage but think as I'm so headache prone, I need to start daily monitoring so I can check if it's "just" a headache or if it's signs of something more

bouncingblob · 14/10/2024 17:44

Had a successful 20 week scan today!

Only weird thing...the maternity unit said that was my last scan and last appointment until birth...surely that can't be right?

So I just have 18 weeks now essentially on my own with no more check ups until the waters break?

IMBCRound2 · 14/10/2024 17:48

Anyone had their Covid and flu vaccines ? I can’t believe how horribly unwell I am !

This is unfortunately correct! Shocked me when I found out, but unless they see reason to see baby again - growth scans etc then you only get 2 NHS scans as standard, 12 & 20 weeks.

Absolutely crazy!!

Yes - no more nhs scans unless you are under consultant-led care or subsequent appointments/events show that you need them.

There’s no more medical reasons for them once they’ve established baby is healthy- so you’ll see your midwife regularly but- hopefully!!- no more scans.

veggiebuns · 14/10/2024 17:53

@bouncingblob although you should still have midwife appointments!!

ChristmasJumpers · 14/10/2024 19:37

I don't think it can be your last appointment altogether. Last scan as long as all is well, but you still need to be seen by your midwife for bump measurements/birth plan etc.

veggiebuns · 14/10/2024 17:53

That's the thing - we were told none of that either!

I am in Northern Ireland which is behind the rest of the UK for NHS care in many ways but surely not this way as well...

I don't know if it's workplace dependant or not but with my second my husband took the day I was in labour off and they classed that as day 1 of paternity leave.

Although If I was in labour more than a few days hubby did say he'd take a few days unpaid leave after so we still got him at home for 2 weeks with baby but that wasn't needed.
